An Updated 1985 version of a scary tale from the famous "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" tv series. Two nurses spend a terrifying night in a secluded large house in the country. Hope you guys like it, i think it's kinda scary
Saw someone refer to this episode on Quora and felt that I just had to watch it. Had to turn it off after the first 3 minutes. Scared the crap out of me! I might be back to watch it when my whole family’s home but not today:). Thanks for posting it!!
Thank you so much for posting this great episode of the 1980s Alfred Hitchcock Presents. I just love this story! It is eerie and very entertaining. Annette O' Toole and B. Davison are really good on here. (I have always loved Annette O' Toole's voice.) I would love for Alfred Hitchcock Presents 1985 - 1989 to be released on DVD!
So grateful you put this Hitchcock episode on. Never watched it in the past. Now I'm over 80, and will watch it with son as everyone says it's very scary. Don't want to get scared alone! :-) :D
I remember seeing the original of this as a small child, and it scared the daylights out of me. I saw this remake when it was originally broadcast in 1985. Haven't seen it since. I enjoyed watching it again. Thanks for uploading.
Why are the far superior originals kept from being shown on RU-vid? As soon as someone puts them up, they get removed. But RU-vid certainly has no problem keeping the pathetic 80's remakes up huh? 😏
I guess they know that the remakes are pathetic and nobody would watch them if they weren't free. They probably hope to sell an expensive DVD of the originals.
The original was the scariest/creepiest episode of my childhood! Today I think it has lost a bit of it's shock factor and is more of a suspense because of the way times have changed, but when it began I thought to myself ''holy crappp it's the one with THE NURSES''🩺👀 YIKES!!
that episode your thinking about is called "Breakdown" .In the original 1955 version it starred Joseph Cotten and in the 1985 update it starred John Heard, yeh it's a very good episode.
Plsed u enjoyed it. Yeh, wouldn't it be neat if they did release the 1980's version on DVD....they might do though, just keep an eye out for it and let us know...!! x
Agreed the 65 version was much more suspenseful. Why was it taken down? Just watched it about a year ago. Does anyone know if the episode entitled The Jar is still up?
Hi! RU-vid used to have ALL the Alfred Hitchcock Hour episodes. Then one day I go to watch and they all had disappeared! Could not believe it! I used to watch them as a kid! In 1960 I was 5 and every week I would watch with my family. I remember "The Jar" such a great cast! And "Where the Woodbine Twineth" And a couple of years ago I came across one I hadn't ever seen! "Consider Her Ways". Written by one of the great sci-fi writer's. Of course I forgot! I don't know if anybody has them!
I missed the original series because l was too young, but caught the reissues in the mid 80s, right around the time The Twilight Zone was having its reprisal.
Cynthia Lyman : 80's young!🤗I love the old movies & Hitchcock & Bettie Davis are all time my favorites! One of my sons gave me the complete collection Hitchcock shows from his weekly programs! I have watched them so many times!🙃
@TheTamblina i like this remake, i remember seeing it growing up in the 80s,but there is one i would like to see if you have it, it called (lamb fritters)
Where can I see the original ????? my brothers used to scare the hell out of me by yelling "Stella!" as they hid in corners - I want the original (but thank you for this one!) :)
PublicC Comment my sisters used to do the same thing! It creeped me out! I can't find the original online and unfortunately they've yet to release the Alfred Hitchcock Hour on DVD.
Amazing how they took the very best of the real Hitchcock presents from the 60s & turned it into something totally horrific. This remake isn't anything like the original. The actors suck, it's 50% less in time so there's really no story & the patient is a YOUNG male. Where's the cat? Where's the basement? Where's the rat? Where's the WINDOW that's unlocked? Where's the storm & the counting of lightning? Where's the behind the door? As for the politically correct BS of the new one, it was HEFTY WOMEN. Back in the day when women were insulted if grocery shopping during the week & no men whistled & there wasn't at least one pinch or pat on the ass from a stranger. Hitchcock put a lot into the real one. It was so important that for the last parts, the set was cleared. The actors who would not be in that part were not given even a hint of the script. The script was given to those who would be in that part & they weren't given the entire script in advance. The actors in the original became the people. As for the original, it's not online as of January 2018. It's not on Netflix. You might as well forget it.
