This is the 2nd out of 3 lessons in a row with my special guest... my dad. In this lesson, we explore solving multi-step equations. Mainly, that means using either addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division, to isolate the variable, and solve for it.
Teaching is a partnership, and a chemistry. You can tell if it's there, or if it's stiff, awkward, or even alienating. Without a doubt, since I was a child, our learning chemistry is palpably positive. You'll be able to feel it in the clip, and for that, I'm very happy to share it with you.
Thank you dad, for the gift (and career) of math. I love you.

I am a high school math teacher in Pennsylvania and want to say that you do a great job!!!!! I often try to get my students to think the very same way I do and not always worry about showing every step.....Especially when solving an equation......Your videos are great and I will be using more of them for our distance learning while students are enrolled in our cyber school...Thanks

So happy I'm done taking math courses. Your patience and wisdom for math is beyond this world. I know I'm nobody to you, however you are my hero when I was pulling my hair out during my school yrs. I still watch your videos, just bc I truly enjoy your energy and delivery. Keep up the good work.

Thank you - you and your special guest! At the last question you ask, 'Why solve for x?' And then comes that gem of an answer: "Having a vision gives us a purpose." Knowing why we do what we do is important - and cements the learning. YayMath!
