I bought a used Gray-Nicolls cricket bat today. Even though I know nothing about choosing them, I'm glad to know I compared my options in the same way Cookie did. Often with these things it's a gut feeling, and you just go for whichever feels the best. Like I say, I know nothing about cricket bats, but I know about guitars, and the exact same thought process applies :)
I agree... I've grown up watching Dravid,Tendulkar and Laxman do their magic.. I've backed Cook since his first test match for England and I really think that record is there for the taking
he says the best bowler he's faced last year is praveen kumar of india. he says "koooomaar" so that makes it a bit tough to understand. but he also says that he bowls slow and swings, so it's him
Sultan Shaik Thought he meant Bhuvneshwar Kumar, cos he was also swinging the ball across the lefties in England tour and he didnt have as much pace as he does now
got to say, for these batsman who get everything custom done for eg custom weight, edges, handle, and other changes, wats the point of trying out their bats, hes pretty much just going to shape it into his own one once he tells em the details he wants for his bat.
Didn't seem arrogant to me, both times when the guy in the back speaks he turns around and politely says 'pardon' to prompt the guy to repeat his question. All I see is normal human interactions.
@simoalley he actully uses gray nicolls, its people like ms dhoni and shahid afridi, dhoni uses SS tons, RNS larsons and Sg. afridi doesnt use only rarely boom boom he uses SS most of the time and all the indians with nike bats, look at the edges they all say SS TON or RNS
@sirvidia He's taken 3 of "the legend" to try them out but obviously in matches he's still using the oblivion. I'm going to get an oblivion and then I'll be just like Alastair Cook (This marketing tool has worked on me)
