Ali Krieger seems like such a genuinely kind person. Going to miss her on the field next year but thankful to all she's given to this sport over the years. Great interview. 👍
Kriegs retiring on her own terms as an NWSL champion is the storybook ending that she deserved. Truly a legend, on and off the field, one of the best to ever do it. She left the game so much better than how she found it and I'm so happy that she got the farewell she so richly deserved ❤❤❤
I ran into Ali at the dog park one day and she was the most genuine, sweet person. She talked with me and just let me sit there with her. Made me love her even more than I did
Ali Krieger is legendary at acknowledging her fans. We’ve been to two Gotham games at KC, and both times she has seen us up in the stands and pointed or waved. I also got to tell Lynn at the last game that we met Marlee and how lovely it was to talk with him, and I got to tell Sammy that my spouse was from Whitman! All three of you are great at fan appreciation! I was laughing so hard at the end with your mom’s, I had to pause it twice! What Jill did to Krieger was terrible. She deprived us from watching the best of the best for two years!
OMG, this was the best episode with the first half interview with Ali Krieger and the second half with Lynn and Sam's moms. Their mothers were absolutely hilarious, especially telling stories about them.
Not me crying at 2am in France bc I’ll never have the chance to see Kriegs play 😢 But I’m so grateful for everything she did ! Just the thing she announced it sooner to give the chance to the fan to see her one last time.. ❤️ I love you Ali ❤️
oh Ali if only you could know everything that you have affected in my life... you and Ash have been more than an inspiration to me... you have motivated me to live and be happy in my own skin, to love and value my life and my way of being... I love them so much... I thank life for being able to witness your career, your successes, failures and teachings
The goal saving play Ali made in the 15Oct match on decision day is a great example of the skill and tenacity of her game. Enjoy the next chapter of life and thank you!
Omg I loved this, loved that y’all had Ali on the podcast and your mothers I enjoyed it very much, your moms are so funny I really enjoyed this episode tell them Happy Mother’s Day for me I really like your podcast I wish y’all the best to y’all soccer career and in everything y’all do love y’all keep doing what y’all doing ❤👍⚽️👏🏻
Awww. Sam’s mom looks a bit like First Lady Laura Bush. And Kristie looks so much like her mom. I was howling at some parts in this episode. Best podcast.
Literally love snacks! You guys are beautiful and your bodies do amazing things every day, even just staying alive! Sam's offhanded comment about her leg being jiggly made me a little sad, and the ensuing convo about saggy butts haha! Obviously it's great to hear everyone's real & honest feelings, but society applies a lot of pressure & dictates what the current standards of beauty are, which are hard (or impossible) to live up to. I would love to hear your thoughts about body image in the nwsl/national team environments. I know a lot of women, athletes, and public figures have extra pressures and often struggle with body image and EDs - and you are all three! So it would be great to hear your experiences, what kinds of conversations are going on, and what kind of resources you all have available, or wish you had! Keep up the amazing work
I loved ‘Ali, but I seriously laughed out loud when your moms were on. With tears and everything it was hilarious. There’s no way I would give my mother an open mic and tell her tell a story about me. There is no telling what would’ve come out of her mouth. Oh, the horror.😳

Girls the only thing you need to do is to change your DIET to a much healthy diet. So, talk to your chefs. (I’m a former assist. coach and former referee.) I sent messages to Mallory Swanson, I talked to her father in 2019. I sent letter to Rose Lavelle, I texted Carli Lloyd he answered once, but not answering my questions before her retirement. My teams won more than 90% of our games. For example, we told the moms to feed their players only healthy food. NO Milk, NO Cheese, NO meat ( because it leaves in your blood buric acid) and NOT eggs. So, less oxygen and energy in your red blood cells. So, ladies, fruits and vegetables. Ladies that DO that, can play easier to almost 40 years old. Before the Olympics I told my friends soccer lovers U.S. will not win the Olympics. Because players were getting tired sooner, and because their blood get thicker. If you forget about the American breakfast (which is TERRIBLE compared to other nations) Just fruits, (watermelon, black or pink grapes, cantaloupe, pineapple, peaches, oranges, apples, make your own juices in your own machine. If you want to be Champions for the fifth time (like Brazil) ask an Honest Pathologist, he will tell you what NOT to eat. I did it.
Ali Krieger is one of my all-time favorite people that have ever played this game. Forever an Icon and I wish people recognized her utter talent and overall greatness. I got her Gotham jersey this year and I got her Orlando jersey years ago. I don't want her to retire and lose the opportunity to rock her number.
