@Europa Man sorry maybe i was not clear in my comment. The little nods made me feel at home is because these are things that have not been shown on screen without much comment about by someone. Like taking off your shoes in the house or using chopsticks in the kitchen. For Asians,especially in America,we don't get that type of reperesentation without some stereotype or racist thing behind it.

I'm right there with you as a black man, but only through our American lense. But man...international quality wise? K-Dramas, J-Dramas, C-Dramas, etc. When I want to find great high production quality asian ONLY focused stories in DIFFERENT genres?? Easy. SO many to choose from. For DECADES........ I don't fear the "subtitle". I can't say the same for stories from black people. Especially from Africa.... Static Shock, Black Panther, and a couple famous youtubers are all we have....

The script is soooo...... good, genuis ! To be honest , I was orginally drawn to it because of Keanu Reeves but was pleasantly surprised. These group is so talented. I love them! By the way Keanu Reeves was wonderful & so funny!

I loved this movie. I thought it was so cute and funny. I watch Fresh off the Boat with Randall Park and think he's very funny but doesn't get enough credit for how funny he is. Have to go check out Ali's stand up routines on Netflix since I didn't know she was so funny. Loved them both in "Always Be My Maybe."

These two are the best!!! Ali Wong just seems like a person who does not take things for granted, unlike another certain Asian American actress. At least for the time being. Hopefully, she stays that way because she is amazing and deserves all of her success.

This movie hit close to home because my parents weren’t really home when I until I was 11 because they both worked but i was lucky that my grandparents were around so they basically raised me and my brothers, kinda jealous of my sisters because they get to have my parents with them most of the time but I’m happy because they’re getting something I didn’t really get

I’m so happy that their movie was so hilarious, good storyline, and in English so I don’t have to read the subtitles to understand. I’m Asian but I dint speak their language. I like other Asian movies, but I’ve seen so many with subtitles that I miss out in the actual movie. So yes, I was glad it was all in English.

It's not that she's ungrateful. She's at the point in her career where she wants to explore other genres, especially after the success of Crazy Rich Asians, and I think she feels Fresh Off the Boat is tying her down and keeping her from branching out. Randall Park has expressed the same sort of sentiment for himself but not as publicly.

They meant asiann rep in Western Media. Mainly Hollywood. The only roles Asians got were the fob, the Kung Fu kid or the nerd; basically stereotypes

Music is correct. When we say we want more Asian representation, we mean in Hollywood. Name me 10 Asian actors off the top of your head that are regularly in Hollywood movies. You can’t because Asians aren’t cast in Hollywood, they see Asians as a risk in star power and stick to whites, blacks, and hispanics. Asians get typecast as gang members like Triad or Yakuza in Hollywood flicks and we’re generally limited to action films.

Watched it last night and was disappointed. I think the whole premise was pretty lame.And she meets Keanu Reeves once and they are all over each other? Really? Plus the Reeves cameo was badly done.From all I have read he is nothing like they portrayed him.
