i know people complained about the literal 'walking off into the sunset' ending. but you know what? after everything sydneys been through, she DESERVES this! she DESERVES to have a husband and children and still get to experience the thrill of the spy life, but on her own terms. it was all that she wanted with danny, yet all that she didn't realize at that time that she needed. personally, i couldnt have imagined it ending any other way.
This actually is the best ending because they end up happily together and the one bad guy that i didn't want to die is still alive. I never want Sark to die, he's too bad and good at the same time, plus I love his accent.
I think the whole idea with her knocking over the blocks is a way for the directors to show she isnt going to follow in her mothers footsteps. break the cycle, so to speak.
WATCHING THE END WHERE IT SAYS "THANK YOU FOR FIVE INCREDIBLE YEARS". TEARS FLEW DOWN MY FACE BECAUSE AFTER SEEING ALL THE PAIN AND SUFFERING AND TRIUMPH THAT WAS PUT INTO THIS SOLID SHOW YOU CANT STOP TO THINK WOW, THIS IS A SERIOUS STORY OF SOMEONES LIFE EVEN THOUGH ITS ONLY A TV SHOW. ALIAS WILL ALWAYS BE AT THE VERY TOP OF FAVORITE SHOWS IN MY HEART!
Good words. I cried to. I did watch this show in my youth when it aired on TV. That was about 12 years ago now. I rewatched it no as an adult, and realized how good of a show it is. Cried and cried.
Yes i cried too..and part Jack died..this is the best show ever..i really love and deeply into this show..God i missed it! It's sad why untill 5seasons only 😢
@nbtmaster2693 Jack had used the puzzle as a test for 'Project Christmas', which was a program he developed for the CIA to train kids to be future agents. Sydney was one of those kids trained by Jack himself. Only children with a very high mental ability (such as Sydney) could solve it. The fact that Isabelle solves it in seconds without any previous training implies that she could be a future spy. But then she knocks it down suggesting that she won't follow that lifestyle. :)
@@christytauler5672 Hahah, also totally possible, though I'd like to think that as one of the last scenes of a 5-season show, they wouldn't have a relatively meaningless moment :P
Oh man did I cry. Jack sacrifised himself for his daughter and granddaughter. So sentimental. This TV show is one of the best shows ever made. I would like a revival, but it's also a sad but happy ending. Reviving it isn't really a good idea in that sense. RIP Jack Bristow - The father that did anything for his daughters safety.
i just finished re-watching the whole series on dvd. and this ending had me in tears. it was great to see these characters which we love get there happy ending.
If.production.on a revival of sorts.were.to begin say after covid is all.cleared.up isabel. would be roughly the age Sydney herself was when SD-6 recruited her we saw her solve the project Christmas puzzle maybe cast an up and comer as young adult isabel to lead a somewhat new cast with the original cast.as bosses/mentors Sydney and Vaughn training their daughter something along those lines
Alias is my top all-time favorite show. With Sydney and Vaughn’s relationship, it came round full circle and gave them the happy ending they deserved. I really wished Jack had not died. He would have been an amazing grandfather to Isabelle and little Jack. Man I wished there was a reboot.

As much as I have and always will love this show, I do not want a re-boot, or a movie, or a pick-up from where they left off. I know we all love it, but there's gotta be an ending to something, and I think ALIAS ended perfectly and beautifully. Anyway, movie adaptations or sequels in general tend to be disappointing. I say if you miss this show, buy the DVDs and watch it all over again. I'm done seasons 1 and 2 already :)
Alias was the best show on T.V! I was so sad that it ended I had to buy all the season on DVD! I would have loved it if they made more seasons, but that's ok it was a great ending and finale. Great scene btw! Alias for EVER!!!
definitely thought the house was going to explode or something when it cut back to show part of the deck and porch swing hahah, that was when i first saw it on tv
It was like a test that Sydney's dad used in a project where they'd like train kids to be future agents. Sydney assembled the puzzle when she was a kid, Isabelle also assembled the puzzle. Basically it means that Isabelle has the same potential that her mum had.
Love Sydney and Vaughn together, but it hurt to see Michael Vartan's name under the Special Guest Star list. I hoped they'd retained him somehow as a regular cast member even in this season!
completely loved this ending...especially the thing with isabelle making the puzzle. and i love that sark is still out there though i wonder if anything else happened between him and rachel. they finished off alias and charmed so well im a big fan of both
"What did you do at your room back there?" "oh nothing mom, just did a mysterious puzzle that will discover my fate. Lets go to a walk towards sunset! :D"
One of the best tv show ever written. The acting is fantastic and the serie has a great casting. I am watching the series again and every time i watch another exciting episode. I sould be in bed on time but i can t even when i can watch it again later,,that great is this show.. Lost is another nice show,,also written by JJ Abrams. Later we see him writing the new Star trek movie(s). I am sure that we will see a lot more from his writing hand in the future : )
will wound up in the witness protection program at the end of season two. he came back a couple of times for guest spots, a episode a year or so. . its insinuated he still is in hiding and got married.
I WANT TO SEE MORE ALIAS.THESE WERE THE BEST YET.HOWEVER WHAT SHIW WOULD UT REALLY BE AND EVERYONE IS DEAD? ESPECIALLY JACK,HER MOM,AND SLOAN.THEY HELPED MAKE THE SHOW WHAT IT WAS.HOWEVER YES I'D STILL WATCH ANOTHER 5YEARS OF ALIAS BECAUSE THATS HOW GREAT IT WAS.BRING JENNIFER GARNER, WILL, VAUGN,SLOAN, JACK,IRINA BACK.
Ditto all that except Irina. She was a frikken annoying, mealy-mouthed bitch and the actress who played her couldn't act her way out of a paper bag. She was the worst thing about the entire series.
I was there for that EP I hope they bring back Alias I always liked Inteligence shows I started watching it season 3 & re watched it 5 years ago on Netflix when it was on. 10 years ago I got the Final season DVD set.
They need to make another series like this one. It was so cool and who didn't look forward to seeing the latest disguise or cover that Sydney would wear.
yes there was in season three. when sloane has dinner with DR Barnett only he did not tell the doctor he was her father. he admits to haveing a affair but tells her that he never tried to prove it one way or the other. its left up in the air untill a few episodes latter when jack tell sid that he had the records checked and he was her father.
haha when alias first came out in high school my friends would stay late at night then talk about it all morning the next day, i've never watched it but got the story from them then one day I saw it on tv and realized it was the last season and watched it until the final episode~! it didn't feel like i missed anything~
I think they should bring this back, but centre it around Isabelle and Jack and their lives as spies and being brother and sister. I think the whole brother sister spies dynamic should make for an interesting show to be honest
This is what I've been thinking aswell. Alias was all about family connections and the Rambaldi prophecies were attached to the Bristow lineage and could easily be reintroduced with Sydney's children. And Sydney's storyline (Jennifer is still very fit and able to do action) could have parallels with her dad's as she's taking extreme measures to protect her children. Sydney rarely understood why Jack did what he did to protect her, but the audience did and it would be cool to see Sydney repeat that path to finally understand her father.
If ya'll want to see Sydney in action again, go watch Peppermint. 2018 movie starring Jennifer Garner. The movie involves actions just like in Alias. Its a must see for Sydney's fans!
I think that maybe the box was misplaced in her room and she know that it wasn't her box, but her mom's, that is why she slowly opens it the box. And the next scene we see her putting together the puzzle and i believe that that reason she knocked it down was because she knoe that she wasn't supposed to be playing with it and when syndey asked her what she was doing she just said "nothing mom" so that her mom would not find out. That is my intereption that the Isabel and the puzzle.
i think the fact that she knocked the puzzle over kinda suggests that she wont be an agent like her mom. Theres always the possibility, but i think that it was a really symbolic gesture.
I agree with jkdreamer01 statement.. "no matter how much she wants to shield her children from intelligence world, the spy genes are too strong and alive in Sydney's daughter " About the knocking over the puzzle.... any child that creates a tower out of blocks or legos will want to knock it over. I also agree that that was Syd's box and that is why she opened the box with curiosity.
@shanarah06 I don't know how much of season 5 you've seen, but no - he lives. Sydney and Jack fooled everyone by pretending that he was dead, they needed to convince the world that he was so that he could be safe from Prophet 5 and continue work against them. The fact that he's assumed dead by the enemy plays a mildly important role in the last couple of episodes.
I've watched all seasons again in the past 2 months, and it's was incredible ! One of the best shows ever made not only for the story line but for the wonderful cast too ! The Story Line it's just UNIQUE ! I will miss this show for the rest of my live, and I hope to see anything new about the show in a near future. Long live Alias ! (btw, it's just me, or anyone else wants to go to Mongolia, and kick Arvin Slove in the face? He is imortal so he might be there stuck on the rock xD)
I think that if they pick this series up from this point, I would love to see it from Isabelle's point of view. I think it would be great if she was just like her mother. Maybe Sydney could train a new spy?
i was so excited abt alias! ...and even more if i heard these two were together in real life ^^ :D i know how damn excited i was :D :D ^^ funny, when i look back :P i stoped watching when michael chooses her wife instead of choosing sydney :( ...but later i watched the season when it repeated on tv! ..i love alias ..uh and ... i always wanted to become an agent, when i was younger :D good old memories!!!
Wasn't there a scene in an earlier season where Sloane tells the psychologist that he was Sydney's father? Did I imagine that? This thread was never brought out again during the series....
