layne's enough of a badass he does a 45 minute show with a broken leg and kicks more ass than on the album... respect. rest in peace, layne. rest in peace.
yeah..its proper headbanging :/ its not easy with straight and very long hair thats why you see jerry often do the throwback, we have to put in much more energy to move em compaired to curlies, but anyway he often manages to do steady 4 4 banging while standing kinda straight, very talented head banger
At 40:50 Layne tries to get Jerry to give his crutches back, but Jerry doesn't see him, so Layne has to sing Man In The Box leaning on his wheelchair 😂
8 years later and I know for a fact that he has now gotten the respect he deserves. Everyone saying how underrated he is proves that he is not underrated
@@grantiscornholio15 yep!!! The fact that almost 20 years after his passing, we are still talking about him and enjoying the hell out of his voice, not much left to say!
I went to this show. I was there mainly to see Ozzy. It turned out to be the only time I saw them with Layne. One of my main memories of them was how LOUD they were. They were probably the loudest band I've heard, and I've heard my share.
44:56 to 45:08, that 'eyes' and the 'jee' give me chills like Cobain in the last scream in 'where did yous sleep las night'. Layne performance in this show it's incredible. Sorry for my bad english.
he sings really good, nothing to say… his voice is really unique, he communicates sufferance and rage but he sings fu..ing good, people! Fu..ing great! A great band, great songs! Wonderful concert…. and they play exactly like in the records, play and sing! Fu..ing cool!
IMO is also shorthand for “in my opinion.” What that means is that IMO can simply mean someone is offering their perspective or opinion. However, although IMO is an acronym or abbreviation, it's also considered a slang word that isn't widely used in professional writing

On the 15 Year Anniversary of his passing, I come here to watch this Show, the same one I saw live this night in this exact pit, mesmerized and remember it all like it was yesterday. Still so impressed that he had that ATV wreck on his Paw and still gave us his all on his feet and performed a SOLID set! I got a GUITAR PICK FROM HIM THIS NIGHT IT IS MY ULTIMATE TREASURE!!
Yes, he sure does. This is one of my favorite shows by far. Laynes voice is so fucking powerful and he makes it look so effortless. Love this version of sickman and godsmack ! plus they look like they're having so much fun. Especially Mike screwing around in the wheelchair. Haha. My first favorite is the Hollywood show, which I never uploaded because other people had it up already, and Seattle. Hollywood has my favorite version of my favorite song sickman. Thanks so much for watching my videos. 😉
Layne was ahead of his time. He was just about ALWAYS on point reason people think he had so so shows isn't because he was off it was just because of the prehistoric recording equipment. Ask just about any other rockers who shared the stage or saw his live shows and they will almost all say he was the best they ever heard and did most songs one take only
@@MelissaPanek123 I've got many favorite parts of different shows it is amazing how he could change his voice on songs we've heard a thousand times and still think WOW ! This was a shooting star once in a generation talent who NEVER got the proper respect from his peers that he deserved. Don't believe me watch any other "great vocalist" try to sing the songs layne sang and it will not take long to realize just how incredible this guy was!
@@MelissaPanek123 I saw them on October 2, 1992!!! Blind Melon opening was the opening act!!! Alice in Chains was the second band !! Then Ozzy was the main act!!!
my god, this is I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E. and i mean more than alice in chains already where. Layne's voice is just ....giving me chills. so powerful. rest in peace.
fucking A! what a fantastic concert. imho, alice in chains is one of the best live bands of all times, all genres. layne was one in a million. his voice is just beyond fantastic.
when he just started singing...in damn that river...oh my god..that hoarse and amazing voice coming through hell to our ears...completely unique...his voice touches perfection...10/10...and everyone should mention that JERRY IS ALSO AMAZING HERE
Yeah let's add that Jerry was amazing too can't leave Jerry out right? He should have probably helped his good friend and you know one of the best vocalists ever lived wouldn't you look out for him a little bit more if he was in your band? I know I would I'm a drummer for a band I've been in there 12 years one of my guys gets out of line, I suspect drug activity they answer to me like a boss. And like a boss I tell him get your sh'": together, either kill or be killed I guess. You got to kill the addiction man no if ands or buts about it heroin killed. Layne was a good friend of mine. The kid was calling out for help I wish the guy he would have called me, I didn't see him for 3 months when I saw him I bawled like a baby. Unbelievable horrendous. Anyway I'm out.
With all due respect for Mr Staley, you can see when he started using if you know the guy you know his characteristics his charisma is straight up personality he was witty he was real smart and kind of a smart-ass if you will LOL but that's the part you love his wit his charm his smart ass attitude at times that's what made him tough but heroin you know what if I could destroy every particle of that crap in the world I would do it it is killed so many of my friends and it's absolutely just sick it's sad it's it's effing horrible. When you see a young person deteriorating like that right in front of your face I can't explain the emotions and feelings that I sometimes still get I tell my wife I don't know why I'm stuck on this but it seems like I'm just not wanting to let it go. I know Layne should still be here. I know his sister and his mom and dad do also. If you have any problem with addiction of any kind man get help you may not even realize you're sick or maybe you just don't want to admit the fact but just know that you're loved man know the people care about you and the world would not be the same if you were not here just like my good friend Layne. The world is a totally different place without that guy I got to reiterate heroin took my buddy from me and I'm pissed off.
Happy 45th birthday Layne! It's been 10 years and you will always inspire me to make music and same with Jerry, Mike Starr, R.I.P. love you too man, and Mike Inez, and of Course Sean Kinney You guys still had the balls to continue with DuVall which I respect, but I respect Layne and I Love you man, Miss you man!
Love this concert (filming and the sound). I wish all the bootleg videos were this good. I can't stand the videos that only show one band member and never move the camera around.
Killer set, I saw this tour a month later in Norfolk, VA. Sepultura was the first band, and Ozzy was the headliner. Couldn't find any footage of that show, but this is just as good.
Yes they where the best bands I've heard and saw live. And I've seen many in my day. I've seen the original lynarnd skyarnd. And queen before they losses
HOLY SHT.... The beginning of Angry Chair sounds freaking insane!!! Layne starts out with the quieter sounding guitar and Jerry's heavy chord comes down like ⚡LIGHTNING⚡
Jerry flipping his hair and headbanging while he plays is my favorite thing. I just saw them live last weekend at Pain In The Grass in Auburn, and man, he has still got it. 🤘🏼
Literally probably the best video of Junkead live. At the singles party layne killed it, but he really belted every single note on this set. They were on tour with ozzy so they were definitely on their A game.
I just realized that this drummer tends to be slightly behind the beat which pulls the music back and adds an interesting texture and a counterpoint to some of the aggressiveness. Dunno why I never caught that before.
The greatest band in their absolute prime. Its a shame that we only had them for a short time but "2 minutes of heaven is better than 1 minute of heaven" - FOTC
Literally the best video taped concert of these guys to date imo. Everyone was firing on all cylinders. Layne absolutely murdered Junkhead, vibrato was so phenomenal. RIP Layne Thomas Staley 💯🕊 Mike Starr 💯🕊
My man moved more than ever on stage with a broke leg.. Was really into it vs his normal statue stance! 🤘😆🤘 Wish I was a little older so I could have experienced AIC with Layne!
Layne Staley: The show must go on! Thank God they did, it was one of their best live performances ever and would of been even better and probably a longer set of Layne didn’t break his leg! His is a G and hero for still performing.
