Mike and Sean in the rhythm section for the unplugged gig played out of their skin... gave it such depth, feel and control for an acoustic gig... probably the most technically brilliant sound management of what was a doom metal / grunge band used to playing heavy and loud af... Also this cover was epic, dare I say it brought a different dimension than the way layne sung it... the vibrato was hair raising... don’t get me wrong though laynes version is and will always be absolutely incredible (one of my AIC favourites) but there are other songs which layne’s voice stands out as unparalleled in particular...
We need more like this in times of permanent autotune and overmixing. Little is more. A great acoustic guitar, an awesome voice and a ton of emotion. That is what music is about. Thanks for uploading :)
Well said ! that being the case these guys are too good to just sit and throw out live music with passion. It needs to be recorded along with a live version Compromise!
It is. If you've noticed which you have a long time ago singers sung. They didn't try so hard but still had heart without trying so hard. Quite satisfying.
Ballsy, attempting to walk in those shoes. I always click on these AIC covers and just wait for the cringe. It never came! I miss Layne as much as the next guy, as I'm sure you do also. Thanks for giving this song what it deserves. An amazingly deep, heart felt rendition by a couple of guys with hearts of grunge.
I agree. They do some incredible tunes. I attempted this many years ago after seeing AIC at the Tower in Philly. Incredible Show. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3k0ZhvdlW4o.html
You must not be too critical, because his rhythm on the guitar part in the beginning was almost completely wrong. The rest of it was good though. Vocals were the best part.
Yes he's a very good singer! I wouldn't call AIC grunge tho. Not even alternative really. They were straight up hard rock! Like Sound Garded were. The two best and most talented bands to come out of the whole so called Seattle music "scene" in the early 90s in my opinion!
500 views. 0 Dislikes. Let that sink in about a Layne Staley cover of 1 of the best song's AIC ever did. Even unplugged in NYC. Thank you Men so much! Absolute Art.
The intensity on your face before you started singing showed how much you respect the man, how much you wanted to do the song justice. Mission accomplished.🔥🔥🔥
Hit me hard, man. Can't stop hearing. Too much perfection. Sometimes I spend hours and hours listening to your covers. Helps me to study. Hope u guys are doing okay. Keep going.
It’s good to see people still care about great music, well done lads! I wish you the best in everything you do, discovered your videos awhile back now but never commented. I’ve just got back into guitar myself and you’ve given me the inspiration to write and play again! Cheers
My mind exploded when he started singing. I expected good singing obviously, but this exceeded my expectations by a lot. Huge respects!!!!!!! Awesome job
Wow! This tune can only be hair raising if the performers are pouring there soul into its performance just as MS&Company did in the original. This one really shows your vocal as your own as well. It's obvious you two Dudes are paying your dues and maybe we all fans will be lucky enough to see the show "Coming to a venue near You"(meaning Us)!
ALGUM BRAZUKA POR AI ``````???????????????????????? Depois dessa dupla , arrebentar anos atras na musica BANDA PEARL JAM ..MUSICA BLACK Agora BANDA ALICE IN CHAINS.......MUSICA NUTSHELL.... CARA CANTA MUITO ;.;;;;;;;;
RU-vid recommended this for me. This is one of my favorite AIC tunes, so I was a bit skeptical. I’m glad I watched it. You guys did a really good job. I’m gonna have to check out more of your stuff.
My words will never be enough. On the 13th time I listened to your version, I could see laynes face while listening to you singing it. You guys did a great job and I know for me personally I appreciate it thank you guys
This is one of those sacred songs. Stirring up emotions since my first listen back in 94. It takes a lot of talent, courage, life lived and pain experienced to do what you just did .. 👌❤️💯🙏 Thank you
For some reason this song is untouchable to me, I wish people would leave it alone. But you guys delivered it with respect that was appropriate and the talent that was needed. Nice work, really great job.
You did a phenomenal job singing. I had to listen to this a second time cause it's so great. Cant describe the words how much this song means for me and to everyone who are fans of Alice In Chains. Especially fans of Lane Staley, you guys did an amazing job. Keep it up!!!!
@@ederfeder1 I saw him live a few years ago in Saginaw Michigan. He's getting up there in age but still sounds just as good as he does in his live videos from 30-40 years ago.
You guys are friggin amazing. I was listening to this on my way to work today. Though its a sad song, your cover put me in a great mood to face the day ahead. Peace lads
