Omg Koby’s bass with the same “haircuts” message from the unplugged show has me dying! You guys are truly the greatest. Every song you do is better than the last. True musicians in every sense. Thank you!! ❤
@@deutschchad1399 although in the actual Unplugged, Inez wrote Friends don’t let Friends….because Metallica were in the Audience and they’d all recently had their hair cut. The phrase was borne from the drink driving commercials ~ Don’t let friends drive drunk. Friendly pisstake to their great friends.
It's because its the same in the original. Their covers are always amazing because of that, they have attention for the details, the instruments in the same pitch of the original, same volume for each instrument and so on..
Man, my buddy Joel just passed away at the end of March. We’d play this song all the time together. And we’d try to play it in different styles. I think we nearly laughed for an hour after we tried doing a metal version haha. Good memories. Miss that guy, though. You guys killed it, as always. If you guys take requests, could you do “Say Hello 2 Heaven” by Temple of the Dog? Rock on 🤘
This is without a doubt one of the best covers of this song and it is most certainly my favorite. I've heard it performed live by a number of bands but none of those came close to this. Great job, guys.
Awesome cover boys! Just watched the “Unplugged” AIC show. Layne was raw……singing with the last drops of life. Tough vocals to emulate, especially while playing guitar. Well done.
My absolute favorite Alice in Chains song, especially the unplugged version. And you guys absolutely nailed it. Jerry Cantrell wrote that song about his Dads tour during the Vietnam War. Jerry's grandfather called Jerry's Dad the rooster because he was so cocky. And Koby, the writing on your guitar was the icing on the cake, again absolutely incredible.
Like it did Layne...he made a comment in an interview that the more the band has success ..the more they ( the music tyrant label's ) expect. So so sad cuz the success is supposed to be a great reward for many hours of hard work ..not so working for the war Machi es.
These guys are so on point with their music. They added their own subtle changes and killed it. An awesome song to begin with no doubt. But their rendition of it was music to my ears.
Awesome! In one word, Awesome! Great choice in background. The birds flying, the rocks, the water. You all are great performers! You all harmonize beautifully! The pause in between the notes is very powerful and it shows control. Just very awesome guys! Keep it up! I enjoy listening to you guys play.
All the covers you do are impeccable and this one is especially beautiful. This shows not only the respect you have for the musicians represented, but also the great professionalism of MUE. Wonderful!!!
Oh yeah! The pepper shaker is baaack!!!! 😎 And the style of Blake's sunglasses! Damn! Hah 👌🏻 Amazing and beautiful! Vocals on point as always 🤘🏼❤️ Perfect guys
Oh wow these guys are awsome my hats off to you guys, I'm 60 yrs old but I know this song very well and you guys nailed it, I still listen to this song to this day. Keep up the awsome work your doing, peace and love to you my friends.
That was beautiful incredible guys!! You guys rock, RIP Layne Staley, my favorites are Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam and Mad Season and Temple of the Dog. Very good YEAAAAAAA!! I ❤️ GRUNGE!! Thank you for sharing this awesome video. 😊💓🤘✌️
Oh you guys 🖤 you always manage to capture the hypotonic darkness of all AIC songs like no one else. You were right, this is all I needed to hear. Ps: I love Blake twinning Lane with the sunnies. 🙈
Great tribute to Layne and AIC. Todd you did one hell of a job with the hardest part. I knew you had that pitch Koby after seeing you sing backup on Black and Wanted Dead or Alive. Blake you picked the perfect looking guitar, Rock’n but still the Unplugged stylings. Kevin on his Pepper shakers is always where it’s at (if you know you know…). Great job all getting this one to this point before release, hope you add to your shows.
Spectacular! You guys take it way above the original. There are a lot of singers that are lucky you guys are here to carry on the music! Keep it going strong! And Koby, great slogan on your bass! Chase off anyone with scissors. Rock On!!!!!!!!
Nice touch with the print on the bass guitar! For those that don't know, in AIC's infamous MTV unplugged performance, the bassist, Mike Inez, had a similar statement on his bass in reference to the members of Metallica chopping off their luscious locks. 😂
