Hi there, Josh; I lived in the area of Fantasy Island for 36 years. I’ve been gone for 5 years and recently came back. There was also a 14 year old boy, that was thrown from the Ferris wheel and died. His Father survived. He was from Kansas. Then, of course, the diver that was instantly paralyzed in front of the audience after diving 60 down into a pool. It was always a very 2nd class amusement park. Mostly, tourists visiting Niagara Falls, would go there. I enjoyed the video immensely! The live shows in Western Town were great!

This park is reopening this summer as Niagara Amusement Park & Splash World. I can’t even imagine how much work they’ve done in just a year to be able to open it already.

This just makes me angry to see how people just destroy places like these, it’s just frustrating...

Also the eagles landing didn’t have a track or anything, you got to freely kayak around that middle island

Abandoned places remind me alot of fallout, maybe because of the abandoned aspect of most of the places in fallout though

JOSH! You are the best, man! I have to tell you it is just pure joy to see you in another amusement park. Your channel is the very first one I ever subscribed to when I got into RU-vid and I've followed you through underground drainage tunnels with eerie voices, abandoned mansions that you had to climb into from the basement and even whole abandoned towns! You are the best at this. You let people see history and the effect of time's passing. You really draw people into the places you take us to and make us live it as if we were there. My two favorite quotes that I got a good laugh from are "These are the games you pay for to play to try to win stuffed animals, but nobody ever really wins." (so true). And of course, "Water slides are meant to have water in it." I am way too old now to be doing anything like this, but when I was in my twenties I would have been so right there with you. Keep up the amazing fun you have FOR us and WITH us. Don't stop doing what you do, because we will be right there, looking through your lens and following your footsteps. Keep rising above. And who wouldn't watch all the way to the end?! I did. Great stuff as always!

It's pretty sad how destroyed it is already. I live in Pennsylvania and have heard of it before, though I haven't been myself. My family has gone before, while it was still open, and it's something a lot of people enjoyed. I hope they can fix it up for more people to have fun in.

Although, I was able to see the place the way it used to be and it brought back amazing memories. The fact that I have so many clear memories hanging out with family and friends in that park makes seeing it abandoned 10x sadder. I live pretty close to the park, so my mom and I used to go all the time. So sad. Thank God someone decided to reopen it

Thanks so much for this, I was a small boy when my family and I went to Fantasy Island. As you stated, so many of us have fond memories of this place, especially with my 2 sisters. I truly hope that someone does turn this park around - fingers crossed.

I live right by this and grew up going to this place because it was the closest theme park, besides darien lake. so many memories came flooding back when you were walking around and showing all of this. it's really sad that it had to shut down.

I live in the area where fantasy Island is and I grew up going to the waterpark every day because we didn’t have a pool and going on school trips with my classes. It’s just really sad to see it go and drive by it every day seeing it just rot away in front of my eyes

I always wanted to explore abandon theme parks but I'm too.clumsy but I feel like I can write a book on them and create a story with them. But it's also sad that they abandoned it.

I remember going here when I was younger so many great memories here it sucks to see it in this shape before you said the place I swore it looked familiar also the silver comet was the first big roller coaster I ever went on and it was so fun and the old western shows I’ll never forget they used to do shoot outs and they’d shoot the guy off the roof that’s the high dive injury I assume it’s so weird seeing your videos for years of all these cool places and I actually have experienced this place I could go on and on about this place

What happened that this was abandoned? That’s really sad. There’s an abandoned mall just across the street from the bowling alley that my friends and I bowl at that brings me so many memories.

Former worker for 3 years until the park shut down 11:15 That was never a casino, just an ice cream shop with a show thoughout the day. 12:27 As I said in Seth's vid this was a kayak rental. Also yes the water always looked that scummy 14:55 a game where you knock down little stuffed cats or clowns with balls. 20:41 That was the crazy mouse, that coaster you see in EVERY fair. (one of the rides I worked) 21:53 the old cars which I also worked.

I grew up in this area! It’s so sad to see a theme park that holds so many of my childhood memories destroyed! I’m in awe that one of the places that you visited, I have been to!

This is MY Fantasy Island! Before COVID and its closure I was planning on visiting it in the summer, but we always ended up so busy....and this is the only vintage-style amusement park I can visit in the area. I prefer that style of amusement park to big chain trill parks like Six Flags at Darien Lake. But, GOOD NEWS EVERYONE. It has been bought by some local business owners and they plan on restoring and reopening it! Here's hoping they're able to follow through! Fantasy Island was and IS the best!

Hi! So I’ve been to this place quite a few times, I live in this area along with my family and while it was active over the years we went here almost ever summer. I really loved this place and it was so fun- especially the water parks and rides- and stuff. Though it’s been awhile since we’ve been here- since around roughly...2018 ish.

The other park that closed under the Apex brand around the same time was Indiana Beach in Monticello, Indiana. It opened back up! I’m happy to say it’s doing better than it was doing when it was under the Apex brand. The owner is a family man and he’s making the park just wonderful!

Taking a trip down nostalgia lane. This place reminds me of Storybook Gardens in London, Ontario. It was my favorite place to go as a kid. We took a trip up to visit relatives and got to take our kids there when they were little. I looked it up, and it’s still open! I don’t think I’ll ever make it back there, but maybe grandkids? Who knows?

Wow! This place is in my hometown! It was really popular because we don't have a lot of amusement parks around. I've probably been to it at least 100 times. Its incredible and such a weird feeling to see the walkthrough while its abandoned, because I have so many memories with each ride! Also - there was a boat ride around that swampy looking area with the boat. When it was open you were handed paddles and told how to row and made your way around. It was my favorite part of the park.

I went here so much when I was little. It hurts to see it like this. The early 2000s I was at this theme park. I enjoyed myself there as a smallmkid. Now the memories feel like they were taken away. It hurts to see it like this

I have read a few articles that stated the decline in small amusement parks in the USA was largely based on the cost of liability insurance. Every time someone gets hurt, and it's bound to happen, the rates go higher and higher till most of your profit is going to insurance,

The genie, and the three houses were all part of the kiddie park,the Golden nugget was a restaurant and the jail was part of the Western show. Eagles landing was a Canoe rental

I've gone here twice, I absolutely love it here. I live near the area so I take full advantage of it

Back in 2011, I believe…one night some kids got inside and turned the electricity on. It was literally like the scene out of Scooby Doo. My family was living in the apartments across the street from it, on Grand Island.

it just clicked in my mind right before you said it, but Fantasy Island was the last place Apex filed for bankruptcy before they did the same thing to an amusement park in my hometown

26:06 Idk reading that whiteboard makes me so sad, or could just be me haha. The employees were all good friends and had memories working there together and were excited for whats in stored for next year but it got closed down. I could imagine the sadness they all felt when hearing the news and having to leave the park and their friends who work there.
