When you say “repeat the process” do you mean paint over what you have previously painted?!? How many coats

Why do you cover with black paint? same paint? one side? underside? In the video when you turn the plate around I don't see a black side. I'm confused - please help!

Loved it, inspiring and you gave me hope to do it myself.. .1)we're do you get a flower &🦋 decal?, correct. 2)Give us the base paint specifications pls. I tried once to paint over a furniture I decorated for my kids bedroom and the base paint was not the right one for the project since the designs I wanted to paint over wouldn't adhere 😢

Hi. Yes masking tape would work perfectly. I have used it in different projects. 😊❤️

You could also use checkered napkins and decoupage with dishwasher and food safe decoupage glue.

Hello. I guess,if I am not mistaken,I mean repeat process: make the grid / paint edge with gold paint / let the paint dry well between the white and black paint /then bake let it cool then bake a second time. Repeat process on each plate. Ifyou don’t want to bake it just let the paint sit and cure by itself. Just be gentle when you wash it. I hope this help to answer your question. 😊❤️

Your plates are beautiful, sweety. I am confused as to when you flipped the plate after painting the white squares, there you could see the sharpie lines , but when you finished could no longer see them. How is this?

Hi. I used rubbing alcohol to remove the lines after I knew were to paint the squares. I am sorry I wasn’t so clear in the video. I hope I am getting better at filming my DIYs. 😬❤️

if i do this checkered plate is it safe for dish waters or will the paint come off when cleaning. aka only decorative not functional.

Lady Saint you it is dishwasher safe, but like all hand painted dishes, it will fade paint with time. You can wash by hand and it might last longer. Thanks for watching.

Great idea! ♥ Maybe try using tape or flexible edging or even an old belt to draw lines?.. Should be easier than with that cardboard :)

Hi. I know this is a old video, but could you tell me do you put the dishes in a cold oven then turn on or put in a preheated oven. Love the video. And want to make this very soon.

Hi Gloria Harris. You’ll want place the plate in a cold oven and also let it cool down without taking it out, when you turn the oven off. Hope it turns out great. Thank you for watching. ❤️
