this cover is sooo legendary, been listening to it for like 6 years, at least once a year..

Jimi is not very remembered as a singer. His guitar skills were out of this world and kept all the attention. But Jimi was one hell of a lyricist, specially in songs like this one. I really like the approach Alice Phoebe Lou takes, because it stress the stories told in each verse and the whole feeling of dissapearing the lyrics has. Such a beautiful voice!

Imagine walking down a street then suddenly hearing this little lady playing and singing her heart out.That would truly be a good day,.

Saw Alice perform last night in Cambridge Mass. Many years ago I saw Jimi Hendrix perform in the Boston Garden. Two great artists who (for me at least )have much in common. Both take music to a unique and transcendent place. I've seen many greats over the years, but only a handful inspire me each time I listen. Richard Thompson is another. Alice is the only new artist I'd put in that category.

Proof why we're all alone. Things of rare beauty can seldomly experienced with others. An angel sings an angelic song on the streets of Berlin and very few seem to even notice.
