As a 30 year old man that has RU-vid playing most of the day, at work and home... This is my favorite video of all time. I also never comment on videos. Thousands and thousands of hours of RU-vid, this is the one.
Nobody said 30 is old! It's just a frame of reference, this man has been around since the inception of RU-vid yet comes back to this video. I understand, as a 32 yr old who primarily watches RU-vid
The amount of smart and consummate musicianship that is going on in this video is so, so underrated. This is what it is like to watch pop musicians work at the top of their game. There is talent oozing off even the nooks and crannies of that stage.
While i don't disagree that they are, in fact, Pop musicians, this is R&B baby! Rhythm and freaking Blues, and they absolutely smashed it! Pop would be more "produced", more danceable, and more of a product ( which isn't a bad thing ), but there's a distinction to be made and i think it's very important to not confuse the two. Great comment btw!😁
These are poeple who are truly passionate into music. Who isn't just making music for fame and money. But who showers us light and love, gives us inspiration to keep going in life. I love both of them💕
Alicia and John are among a few artists in the early 2000s era that have elevated themselves to all-time greats with all time-classic songs. I can easily imagine people still vibing to If I Aint Got You and Gravity some 30-40 years from now, in the same way that we are still vibing to timeless 70s and 80s songs from time to time.
if you listen to her talking parts on the USA voice, you will realise you are correct, she is everything you'd imagine, such a nice woman, she sings to a contestant too, the 'lily' song, check it.
No she has the talent she is the female Elvis of this past Generation along with Adele. I respect her more cuz she was so Hot and she stopped wearing makeup like 8-10 years ago like in this Video. She has none on and at first I was like Damn. But after I saw her her Soul and Voice she went to prove to Young Girl's out there you do t git to be a Whore bag Slut like No talent Katie Perry who can't Sing live. And that Man Beast Beyonce who even lip sync The National Anthem, LOL like WTF does that but that fake bitch. There all Studio fake Bitches. Just like 2PAC said about the Studio Gangsta. She's even more beautiful with No make-up and what a voice and you can tell she loves and believes in God which she has Said. Which is why her Career has not exploded any Bigger. Cuz she would t sell her Soul. A lot of you don't know the sick Shit and rules and things you got to do and pay to be a Huge Star.

Cryptocurrency trading appears to be quite lucrative. Despite the constantly changing nature of Bitcoin, it's evident that the cryptocurrency community is here to stay. Greg Seashore, you're doing an excellent job.
I apologize for interrupting, but I have been searching for assistance with this type of trading as my work consumes most of my time, leaving me with limited opportunities to focus on trading. How can I get to know him?
It’s the way Alicia smiled wholehearted, bare faced, no makeup, and John lost himself in music that makes this performance so intimate, so human. I feel like watching just people, like you and me, making beautiful music on a stage in New York.
Her smile is other-worldly for sure. It does make this performance very intimate. Such a gorgeous woman, I suspect both inside and out. Although I doubt she's not wearing any makeup. It's just very tastefully restrained, which is a breath of fresh air in this day of so many looks that are way over the top.
I love how they're just a couple of friends jamming but they're legends and it's Times Square....not an ardent follower of either John Mayer or Alicia Keys I do love a couple of their songs individually but I keep coming back to this particular live performance time and time again coz they just up there vibing ❤
Omg! I was so deep inside of this performance that I hated when it ended - and Alicia’s beauty was emphasized by her totally natural inner beauty that no one on this planet could compare to - I will treasure this forever and probably beyond! Their voices complimented each other completely and his guitar solo was mesmerizing- This was MAGICAL! Thank you, Alicia and John
This last week has been extremely difficult with radiation treatments for cancer. No energy can barely move. Now I feel life in me because of these amazing performances by Alicia Keys and John Mayer. Thank you so much.
This is one of the most real performances ever. Just three artists enjoying their talent together. The vibe was beautiful, I’m so glad this was documented so I could experience it too
Maria Pia I think it’s an uncontrollable laugh when you realise how good something is. How often does she hear other people perform on her song, to hear John Mayer sing it his way and make it sound good too must be amazing.
Alicia is so beautiful. She was born to bring and sing us this song. Every time she does, it is a sermon and a reminder of what really matters. This is my favorite performance of this song. Thank you for sharing your talent with us all. It's made the world a better place to live in.
This song really made me appreciate the impact a good drummer has on a song. The beat doesn't sound that complicated, but I wouldn't want it to be any more than it is. The timing and every stroke is impeccable. Doesn't overpower the song, it's perfect.
Drummers ALWAYS are the musical leaders. Anyone who has been part of a band knows that the drummer is the one who have the timming and order for the rest. Thats why drummers always give that one, two, three with the sticks before the jam starts I played the guitar and my best jams have come from joining my man Richard vibin in the drumms
This is a damn masterpiece. I come back to this every few months to watch and still am so impressed. Alicia's voice is like bottled diamonds, she contains one of the most beautiful voices on earth and I'm glad her passion is shared with us all.
Just unbelievable stunning musical performance … Alicia’s vocal ability at the end with John’s guitar is genius … she is beyond heavenly sounds from her voice and her fingers. Her timing 🙇🙇🙇
What a true beauty Alicia is.... not just in looks (although those are certainly there) but in spirit, personality, heart, warmth, integrity, kindness, intellect, intelligence, creativity, talent, and on and on, ad infinitum...♥️
I'm an old man. Doing a lot of thinking about how fast life passes by and how temporary our lives are. Every now and then the right people come together at the right time and create a few moments that are so perfect. I am so lucky to be alive during the time of RU-vid. Any time that I'm feeling down, I can click on a special video like this and be instantly transported to a few perfect moments, where all my cares and worries just float away.
three absolute legends in their own respective genres coming together and just being immersed in the music and the vibe is so beautiful to see. it’s wonderful watching people who are so passionate do what they do and be fully in it
@@fruitdemer201 Yeah.. she has both. Why are you trying to dictate what someone else can talk about? It's okay to stop and admire how naturally beautiful she is as well.
Andra Piers how is he lying? I watch this and get the same exact feeling. She is the most beautiful person on the planet. Her looks, voice, charisma and charm aren’t mutually exclusive. She’s just beautiful inside and out in every way possible. Try not to be triggered so much. You can’t even let a compliment go. Life’s too short baby. 💯love
the intimacy of her performance is striking. She's in the middle of Times Square surrounding by thousands of people, but the way she gently croons into the microphone across those first few bars makes you feel like she's singing just to you. It's gentle and delicate, before striking a high note just as a warning shot of how powerful her voice really is
I just love how both artists seem to genuinely be fans of each other's songs. The passion they deliver singing both songs are just through the roof. This is just incredible chemistry between some incredible artists.
@@kezza10mail just because something is unrehearsed, doesn't make it half-assed. Because they are pros means they can go out and just feed off of eachother and make it sound great.
It's talent, it comes from years of daily work and practice. They would most likely play for free because to them its their calling and what they love to do.

This is one of the best live performances I've ever seen, and there is so much to love about it, most of which has already been stated in other comments. One of my favorite parts is at around 3:30, That smile on the young guy's face standing on a stage in NYC between these two musical giants singing to each other is simply priceless! What an experience! Then fast-forward to about 5:48 when Alicia starts singing Gravity...John turns and looks at the other musicians like friends, it's just so great. I think the one striking thing about this performance is the energy, humility, mutual respect, and friendship vibe on the stage. It's truly awesome!
Could not agree more 😢 I can’t hear it enough and I’m a vining 66 year old granny !! I think John beats them all , Eric who ? Alicia is a beautiful gift to our crazy world ❤
@@catherinegribble2449 I do ❤ this duet with Mayer, BUT I don’t understand you’re comparison with Eric Clapton’s music style if that’s what you’re comparing it with?! Both are in completely different genres and types of music they play imo! But I think they’re ALL great in their own class!
This is my Roman Empire… I swear I come back to watch this again at least once a month, without ever planning on it. These two and the incredible musicians on stage with them are doing everything right. …I just wish there wasn’t always an ad that plays every time they transition into Gravity!
Honestly, this video wouldn't be the same without the side cameras facing Alicia and John. You can tell everybody on that stage has an impenetrable passion for music, I love it.
Essa apresentação me causa algum sentimento indescritível. É tão lindo, tão único e tão cativante que nunca vi nada parecido. Vez enquando venho rever essa obra de arte! Alicia sempre perfeita e o John conseguiu melhorar ainda mais nesse dueto!
True, but you can't deny how shallow the music scene as a whole has become. I don't wanna single anyone out, but we live in a world where Cardi B won a Grammy. There's hundreds of rappers out there with more depth and message behind their lyrics. To me, if someone can't appreciate the magic that happened on this stage between John and Alicia, then you've either never played live music a day in your life, or you don't have an ear for all the subtle nuances in the music before you. The band went seamlessly from her song, to his, back to hers. And the lyrics for the two, sounds like he wrote Gravity in response to her song. It's a full circle mindfuck lol
Hi! I’ve written a song called Real Life Dance. It’s about having a dream and it being like a romance in your head but then turning into something real like a dance. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DV7nUQj-9gg.html
I had a huge grin on my face from the moment John started singing and Alicia got that big grin on her face. Everything about this was an absolute gift.
7:45 is just musical fusion! You got Alicia screaming, John doing epic leads on his guitar, quest just going to town with the drums, while all being tied in by the backup vocals and musicians. JUST GREAT!
Theres a stroke of absolute perfection here, down to every faint breath and giggle. Not even these two could replicate what happened on stage here on another day. Wow just wow.
A beautiful love letter to New Yorkers everywhere from NYC. Beautiful performance by all. Mayer's playing reminds me of his incredible performance at MJ's funeral. Grazie, mil grazie.
John plays just a few notes on his guitar to start his solo and the crowd already starts cheering. That man makes a guitar tell a fucking story, my god
Probably one of the very few guitar heroes in post-2000s era And probably the most all-round one... Aside from guitar skills and musicality, he sings well and is very good looking But he is reaching his mid-40s...
I've seen JM blow everyone away with his guitar playing on Gravity, but love the fact that he kept it understated in this performance - it was Alicia Keys' gig after all. A true gent.
@@krisbarringer1509 Yep, and more so , he got the opportunity to play alongside him, you can even see in their jam sessions how BB was looking at him, like a proud father watching his son
Alicia Keys sings backing vocals on the original studio recording of Gravity + he plays guitar and sings backing on Lesson Learned. They are both so talented and know exactly how to be the lead or be the support.
This song is so beautiful, and the way Alicia sings it just blows me away! Some people want it all, but I don't want nothin at all... daaaaaamn she's so bloody talented I get chills listening to her. Who can watch this and not fall completely in Love with Alicia Keys?!😮 Wow!
@Kilo Mintoni sucking corporate ass gets you money, but theres no question he is talented at playing music though. Seems like you're focusing on the wrong aspects of music when theres 3 people who actually play their instruments on stage performing live. It was free form. not a basic syncopated corporate song and dance performance you normally see.
@@Aswinishere It was bad enough the superbowl was ruined with the trash music the last time and this trash music does not need to be at a superbowl either.
John Mayer is an amazing artist and a master guitarist. I can just see & hear him oozing his person and his soul out onto that mic through his improvisations. At the whims of his instrument he becomes a true musician, and this man is a living legend I tell you. He’s way too underrated.
