"‘succotash wish’ is a term that came from the US Depression of the 30′s. succotash was a necessary basic stew, made cheaply of various beans and pulses. when people dared to dream of luxury and freedom from austerity, this was a succotash wish."
often i change lyrics to songs, and what i got from this song is "Make a wish, make a single breath wish you never bought this life broke kisses all the time make a wish, don't break mind make a wish make a single breath wish you never bought this life broke kisses all the time don't break mind don't break mind don't break mind don't break mind not now"
@DrumTheWhiteKid yes your right it is " make a wish make a single dash wish" succotash wish is on many vids as thats what they think it says due to the speed it is said but yes it is defenlty "make a wish make a single dash wish"
hahah omg man I'm laughing so hard thats what I thought he said too lol at least I dont feel like the only dickhead that miss heard the lyrics :) this song is SO UNDERRATED
I googled it, and "pompous" is all over the lyric websites, but I cannot find an authoritative source like official lyrics from the band. It's possible that every lyrics website copy-pasted from the same place. "Poor man's life" makes more sense than "pompous life". I always thought it was "pauper's life", which is another way of saying "poor" anyway. Also, I thought it was "single task wish" as in a wish that is limited to doing only 1 thing, instead of dozen separate things crammed into one wish. The line "cold fire used to inspire all, not now" is a clear reference to the 2nd Edition D&D "The Complete Wizard's Handbook" published in 1990. The book had a section on ideas for new spells, including "cold fire". In 3rd Edition D&D (2000), there's is now a spell called Continual Flame that gives light but no heat. Hence, "cold fire" exists now.
@ChristAir93 soemthing's.... off about this song. sounds like there's some lyrics missing, maybe even too much drums, which seems to overpower the lead singer. where'd you get this from anyway? O_o

I'm not sure these lyrics are right. I googled it, and all of the lyrics websites agree, but it's possible that every lyrics website copy-pasted from the same place. I cannot find an authoritative source, like official lyrics from the band. I always thought it was "pauper's life", but another comment suggested "poor man's life". Both of those make more sense than "pompous life". I thought it was "single task wish" as in a wish that is limited to doing only 1 thing, instead of dozen separate things crammed into one wish. That makes sense for a D&D spell: the wish can only do one thing, to prevent players from abusing the Wish spell to do too much.
