I read the description. Props to making the transformation look cohesive as you did. I could tell some "jostling" had to be involved but it looked pretty straight forward. Real shame this figure has so many problems. The idea of using First addition OP as the basis for a Knight Prime design is pretty clever. Seems like it got lost to complexity-over-quality motives.
being honest, hasbro should really take up the engineering of the prime first edition for the knight mode of AOE and TLK, if they already took the engineering for the chest of 05 and improved it in the 32/44 mold, I don't see why not take it in its entirety, it would be difficult but not impossible Alien attack showed that it can be done in concept, it was a pity that its execution was crap that ended up burying them
it really looks like it suffered a lack of budget, the sheen of the unpainted plastic looks vaguely unhealthy, like hasbro's cheaper formulas from earthrise and kingdom, but conversely there is paint and chrome everywhere
I also picked this up when it was $60. Your video made me think, "hey maybe not so bad." Your comments afterwards made me think, "maybe I'll leave it in the box." I anticipate your masochistic Mackron demo.
@@rjz4329 What, Makron? Shipping from PR wouldn't be too much I'd imagine. I would cover the return shipping. If you're feeling brave hit me up @ gmail.com and we can coordinate.
Man, the figure was a messy design. Unique Toy still the best design when it come to clean back design. No back kibble, less spaghetti engineering. Sometime i wonder UT mindset, such mindblowing.
Watching this, the transformation doesn’t look like a nightmare. If Only Alien Attack could get their shit together with their QC, and stop just making CAD designs into toys with zero testing beforehand, they could make solid figures.
I didn't find much QC issues, but the design issues were definitely apparent. Like TW they have a good *theoretical* design that doesn't work in real life.
OK go ahead and buy this figure, try to transform it, then come back here and write to me about how terrible it is :D Keep in mind it's not just an overly complex and unintuitive transformation, but the QC also sucks ass and the instructions are garbage.
Apparently this is NOT the best Prime in the world (excellent work on the animation, regardless), but I feel I still have to ask... Is it at least better than Hasbro? lol
Which feels better to you, alien attack or unique toys? I like the look of this Knight Prime and have a 4th Dragoon. Was looking for a Prime to go with him.
I applaud you on this video. Also, you must hate yourself. I had this figure and after 2.5 hours it still wasn't in truck mode, and several pieces had either broken or fallen off. I put it back in robot mode and immediately tried to sell it. And I was super hyped since it was the first MPM-style knight prime. It was the biggest disappointment of my entire collecting career.
@@peolesdru according to Enano Buen19, there is going to be an El Cid 2.0, potentially called King of Kavaliers, if these images are legit, then it will be a huge step up in terms of design complexity and mode cleanliness, though with alien attack that is a double edged sword since enjoyability likely goes straight out the window,
What's the best optimus prime knight version out there? There so many versions I can't decide. I'm new to the 3rd party figures n want to buy one. Thanks in advance and God bless
@@esau529 Yes. That is slightly oversized KO of UT Challenger with a few tweaks to the design, and a bit lower price. I haven't handled it myself, but it should be similar enough to get my recommendation.
my mom told me i don't need to say ''my name's not lynne'' every time. i can just sign my real name. why didn't i think of that? now, about the figure, uh uh. signed, thomas
