The Major should've taken them inside too, to one of the classrooms where the students were discussing "The art of war" and what lessons they'd learned from it, and how it could be applied to modern day warfare.

Yes, this is a short-story with an open beginning and an open ending. The nice thing about short-stories is that you can figure out the beginning and what follows yourself.

@@RalfSteffens I agree. Some of the poorest SciFi stories have poor introductions and/or long, boring endings, often with many vocabulary glitches and obvious plot holes.

Also, some stories from Reddit may be someone continuing off of another's story and then a third continuing from there. Each writing a chapter, basically. If you read only a middle piece, you will feel it's incomplete, because it IS incomplete.

The humans here could easily conquer the galaxy making the aliens seem like a joke if the aliens don't even do proper training.

For those without military experience, this story brings back memories of my days in Army basic training, ROTC Advanced Camp, and OBC. Some of my fondest memories are running the obstacle courses and live fire ranges. You just feel so alive. Pushing yourself beyond your limits.

I think this is what defines humanity from aliens. We go to the extreme when we train since war is the extreme. Regardless if its exhausting, since when was life ever not exhausting. War pushes it to the absolute breaking point and it is just like the saying: Strong people make good times Good times make weak people Weak people make bad times And bad times make strong people.

I've been enjoying listening to your "Death world" series. However, I have some criticism. The author tends to use different words to essentially repeat himself, and he tends to be re-telling the same story ad-nauseum.
