It's a fantastic movie that was MORE than just an Alien film. David ended up being perhaps the greatest character in the entire franchise for me. Even more so than Ripley.
Its sad and beautiful, Its sad what happened to Shaw, what she got caught up in, is it sad for David? He was created but not allowed to create. If you think about your first love, think about when you first fell it love... its beautiful. They say you never forget your first love. This song make me think of that just now and she came into my head.
A lot of people hate alien covenant because they want it to go back to its "good" old days but really the only goood alien movie we had was the original, james cameron's aliens was cool but it lost its focus, it was never about action its about being scary, mistery, the darkness of space, sexuality, and much much more. I think in my own opinion that Ridely Scott saved the Alien franchise and that Covenant is the second best film sinse the original in my opinion
Sometimes throughout the day it gets on my head for no apparent reason and I always end up having to come here and listen to it a few times. It's like a beautiful dream dreamt on a beautiful world.
@@lucasdaniel7497 Dumb crew (going in to new world without any protection from biological components) looked completely untrained for world population mission. Elizabeth death was wasted, we could have seen her and David explore so much more when what we got an off screen death. Later movie becomes generic alien hunt movie survival that we seen hundreds of times . I mean I enjoyed the movie a lot cause David is literally one of my favourite characters. But so much wasted potencial its just yikes.

I like that the theme of the movie and the atmosphere fits in the Alien lore. I wouldn’t change the name at all, Alien was missing the more serious tone stories from the original and Prometheus and Covenant gave me that. I just wish we would of got more from the movie that would of really brought the whole Alien feel to the movie but due to all the cuts and changes, we were left with what we got. Personally I would love to see the real full Alien Covenant like Ridley intended but hopefully we get a wrap up to David’s arc and a full ending to this whole story.
TO ME ITS ABOUT DAVID FINALLY BECOMING A GOD HIMSELF , MASTERING HIS WORK. ITS ABOUT THE ESSENCE OF CREATION . EVEN ABOUT OURSELVES AND OUR CONCEPT OF GOD . THIS IS THE BEAUTY OF CINEMATICS AND SOUND, IT ENVOLKES FEELINGS AND IDEAS UNIQUE TO EACH ONE OF US.
It's about David's perception of the beauty of the xenomorph and what he's created. Obviously, it isn't beautiful it's horrific, but the music transports us into David's POV. The cut to Walter finding Shaw is simply to hint at Shaw's key role in this twisted act of creation. And we then see David grieving Shaw playing the flute because the loss and creation were linked. In his twisted way, David sees the xenomorph as his tribute to Shaw.
still pissed they killed her off after the cliffhanger from last timethen again we wouldn't have had David finally create the creature that caused so much chaos for Ripley and her team
david..like his imperfect imitation of the xenomorph...could never truly match the dreams it had of replacing its creator..or replacing it (xenomorphs defeat protomorphs)

I love the xenomorphs so much!! I cry when they die in the films. my love for you big chap grid alien and the queen!! I wish you were all real. xenomorphs forever and always.
The thing that makes no sense to me is this movie is called Alien: Covenant however should be just called Covenant like Prometheus. Cause the next movie is called AWAKENING. Now I understand why Alien is in the title cause of the Xeno in the film however Covenant sounds much better for a Alien title to go along Prometheus.
It's really weird that Ridley Scott is an atheist, I mean the guy believes aliens as a higher power rather than Jesus Christ, most of his films borrow Christian themes, x
