That was my main complaint of AvP having it set on present day earth i hate when studios/directors/writers shit on lore they did it with doctor who no respect for the fans

Last of the MagicImage Universal Filmscript books have now been reprinted, Kilty. I think that's all of them. BRIDE OF & SON OF FRANKENSTEIN have interesting script changes. Poor Dwight Frye got short-changed in both, in scenes that were filmed & cut. SON OF does not have Ygor at all. Bela was contracted to play Inspector Krogh. Universal paid him half the fee per week of Karloff & Rathbone, & then tried to get all his scenes filmed in one week. Director Roland V Lee sounds like a good fellow, because he insisted on Lugosi being part of it from 1st to last day's shooting. Roland Lee sounds like a rogue. NO script in the archives features Ygor at all, it was all in Lee's head. There ARE frantic memos from the production manager trying to calculate shooting progress when there was no script to measure it by. Lee threw out the shooting script, though he did keep a lot of details, & let Bela develop Ygor from one day to the next, & Bela had a ball. I suspect Karloff had a lot to do with the changes in the script. In the script the Monster is strong from the start - - his motivation is the same as in BRIDE. The Monster talks, & it's effective. But Karloff didn't want the lines & I think he talked Lee into keeping the Monster mute. In the script, the Monster is quite evil in blackmailing Frankenstein by menacing his family. Karloff, I suspect, felt he wouldn't be able to hold on to the pathos if he spoke those threats. So they gave all the motivation & blackmailing to new character Ygor. Which made Ygor far more interesting than the Monster. The Monster was reduced to a tired henchman. Karloff made a big mistake there, though he never saw it that way. The Monster in the script has some simple but great dialogue exchanges. But, ludicrously, by the last scenes the script has the Monster wanting to do the brain surgery! The book credits the film as reviving Universal's interest in the horror franchise after Carl Laemle was bought out in 1936 & new management lost 3 million in 2 years making other genres. Printing quality of these latest reprints are just as poor as the others, but the facsimiles of the vintage scripts are what it's all about. Fascinating. They rewrite history. Complicating matters in a good way, Bear Manor publishing have also been printing vintage horror scripts mostly edited by Tom Weaver, with much better printing & super research: the *SCRIPTS FROM THE CRYPT* series. Script from the Crypt just recently published GHOST OF FRANKENSTEIN script - - formerly covered by Magic Image, but this edition overhauls all of that. So now I wonder whether Scripts from the Crypt intend to overhaul all the MagicImage Universal filmscripts. In which case it's better to wait, because these Scripts from the Crypt are way better quality - - I have 4: GHOST OF... DRACULA'S DAUGHTER... BRIDE OF THE MONSTER (superb)... & a Rondo Hatton script because it was momentarily down to £6. So there's something to think about. And if Paul's made it down this far: Shout out to *Paul Icke!*

At the moment marvel are publishing an alien vs the avengers comic and at the moment the aliens are winning having taken out most of the superheroes 😅

Ridley should have done another, not go back to Alien, but a completely different SF-Movie, a shame he didn't !

well I hope they dont adopt the Dark Horse comic Aliens comics 1989 by Mark Verhaiden. where the Aliens take over Earth , did not like that one.
