Alien Isolation: The game where you need to hide and be super quiet about everything, but you get to make a ton of noise when entering lockers. You’ll be fine. Totally.
weirdly you get used to it after a while. You begin to understand how the AI works and all. It gets to be more annoying than scary unless you have made a lot of progress without saving.
You gotta play it. I have played through it 2 times, once right after it came out and then quite some time afterwards. The first time there were times where I had been so tense for so long I was mentally exhausted and had to stop for a break. I actually found the hateful androids scarier than the alien.
I already know this is just a close call But the atmosphere man The attention to detail of interaction Those things makes all this stuff a raw action It feels unreal
7:10 The way it went up to the locker, walked to the door, then right before leaving, looked directly at the locker before leaving for real. The way it backed out of the door way just to look at you was ominous. I thought it was going to rethink leaving the room for a sec.
The motion tracker is the perfect example of a way to give you an incredibly useful tool, while also somehow making the game even scarier. Knowing it's right outside the room you're in not only gives you important information for survival but also creeps you the hell out. It's awesome.
Don't let Nemesis hear you say that. Just a warning. That dude has issues that have issues ! He don't play. He would build a starship, stalk, find & interrogate (in a not so nice manner) Ridley Scott until he gives up the interstellar coordinates to any Xeno. location & then fly across the galaxy to kill each & every alien he can find ! Of course he'd break Ridley's neck first, & it would be aaalll your fau. . . Well, most . . . partly your fault.
Throughout the entire video it felt like the Alien was just toying with you. Like, it always knew where you were, but wanted to give you false senses of security. This game's a masterpiece and it deserves a sequel.
I learned you can run right past him when he’s dropping out of those vents and you won’t even see him until you get to the lower levels. Just put the code In and go. Run Then walk after you put the code in
The Morley offices is probably the hardest part of the game. Other hard places you can prepare for by crafting the right items and saving ammo. No way to fight the alien here
@@SonicDub did you die much at the Morley offices? If it weren't for the save point in it then it would drive me crazy. I got to the point where I stopped using a strategy and just kept reloading until I got good RNG. At the start, the alien spawns at a random location so if you die and reload enough it will eventually spawn at a location you aren't going to. I don't know how to open the locked door that speedrunners use which allows you to skip it
@@rickysmyth it was a struggle from beginning to end because I think I had noise tracking on and playing on normal so I would agree that I was dying a lot in there lol
13:31 You climb into a short cabinet, at 13:32 THE XENO. DROPS OUT OF A CEILING VENT & JUST MISSES YOU !!!!! OH... MY... F...ING. Deep breaths, deep breaths. You know, if you had stopped to check your watch or tie a shoelace, that would have been the end of you. Just thought you should know that.
If this had multiplayer or a series for it, I'm pretty sure everyone would come back to play it. People already are considering it's 2022 and its from 2014
can i just say after seeing this part 5:30 HOW THE FUCK DID IT NOT SEE YOU???? LIKE THIS HAPPENED TO ME AND IT IMMEDIATELY SAW ME AND I CRIED FROM HOW SCARED I WAS
This game made me so paranoic I started shooting on sight... which means I usually got some game overs over killing non-hostile humans. Got me so paranoic I became just as these stressed humans: shoot first ask later. It's a proof of just how good it is XD.
"This is Lingard, Senior Medical Officer, Sevastopol Station. I want to... (correcting herself) I want to state for the record that I have been place under duress with regards to the compromised Patient Zero. And Ransome, Seegson's head of operations, he... ...he made certain threats toward my career and certification, I want that on record. But God help me, that woman needed help. I didn't know what type of parasite she had encountered, but it planted something inside her. I am so Sorry. I had no way of knowing what would happen..." -Lingard's Report
It’s honestly a blast, you just have to take breaks in between to calm yourself and dry your hands. Also when I played I tensed my leg muscles so much that they were sore for days lol
I never get in lockers either but it’s good not to die. You get so used to just sneaking around them later. The Joe’s will find you in a locker right away. And the alien does learn so if he finds you in a locker he will start checking them later. But you didn’t die
Okay let me explain, I’m going to presume you’ve seen Infinity War. Now remember the scene where Drax tells Quill and Gamora that if he stands so incredibly still that he becomes invisible. That was 1% me thinking it was going to work and 99% I was going to get caught.
Holy crap ! 11:18 ! Stained drawers ! What the hell ? ! You must be Sue Storm. Did you steal some Predator tech. ? It works, that's for damn sure ! Aww man, all oxygen evaporated from my lungs when I heard the FOOTSTEPS OF DEATH approaching. Impending doom was near, but some how, some way, you avoided the XENO. FRENCH KISS OF DEATH & HATE ! Amazing, simply amazing. Pat yourself on the back. ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR SUE STORM THE PREDATOR !!! BRAVO ! BRAVO !!!
I normally play video games alone at night to relax a bit after a long day of work. When I got this game back when it released I quickly found out that this is not a relaxing, turn the brain off kick back and enjoy type of game. The sound and alien AI was insanely good. This guy is sooo lucky… damn Alien always caught me. Even nearing the end of the game the damn alien would practically say bro how many times have I caught you like this and you never learn.
Maybe it’s like watching a horror movie from someone else’s perspective and whilst knowing what’s coming around the corner, maybe you are nervous to know what going to happen to the person as well as yourself?
Nope. I think this game probably ranks among the best survival horror video games ever made, but I just can't play it. Far, far too stressful. Looks amazing, though - the design (visuals, sounds, etc) is outstanding. If anything, I think we see a bit too much of the xenomorph throughout. Less would have been more.
@@SonicDub Wish I could play it for the first time again. Hiding in a locker looking for Dr Morley’s keycard and not playing the game for a month. It just isn’t scary anymore.
@@lithium2528 I know the feeling, well the next best thing is seeing someone who’s never experienced it before and watching the reaction on them that you made years ago.
I like to play horror games while on shrooms. This was the only one that freaked me out so much that I had to quit. I made it up until the alien appeared.
@@SonicDub To clarify, I've finished the whole game sober years ago. The on shrooms thing is more recent. Finished RE 2R, 3R, 4R, 7, 8 and Dead Space remake on shrooms. But the replay of Alien Isolation on shrooms was too much.
@@SonicDub the middle one w the two doors on either side. U get trapped in there if the creature is roaming. Can't leave without 90% risk of dying. Trick to this game is to keep moving and stay hidden. Never backtrack or use closets until the first alien is jettisoned off the station.
