16:08 about the sun/star: either A: the star in the system this game takes place in is significantly smaller than our sun and thus the people can set up a station much closer and with less heat management infrastructure or B: it's a sun-like star and the heat + radiation is being sci-fied away by the station shell and space suit. either way it's not all that close. looks like what our sun would look like from venus

it could indeed be a red dwarf, but the game is very inconsistent about the distance. it's a different size in almost every window lol. i suppose that could be explained by the star being so small that the gas giant greatly affects its orbit, but the intensity of the sunlight still never changes.

@@sorenkair Couldn't the concept of parallax have something to do with that? By that I mean like how sometimes the sun appears bigger or closer than normal, like during sunsets. Specifically remember when I live in FL if you drove over a bridge at a certain time of night the moon would appear as big as a Kennedy half-dollar but "normal sized" in other locations.

I kinda doubt it matters if xenomorphs make land fall yeah they're dangerous but the main reason they're threatening is because they're always in confined spaces with limited weaponary i doubt xenomorphs could do much against a modern military especially a futuristic one it could be terrible if it somehow goes undetected for a very long period but i doubt that's possible

For the star being so close, it also looks supper active. The gas giants magnetic field could protect people from the solar radiation, the problem is, gas giants with enough mass and energy will just turn into a proto star or as one theory puts it, turn into a full blown star. by how close the star is, this gas giant should definitly be glowing its own heat and light at this point.
