I recently purchased the Alien Light and I'm very happy with it. Great luminosity, batteries last at least 2 hours with no loss of brightness (I haven't tested the maximum battery time yet). I've been using two lights at a time with the third as a backup. It may not replace a backup light completely, but there is a strong element of redundancy in the design (three separate torches held together on a Goodman handle). I expect to use this light as a primary for general diving, such as open water and non-penetration or only extremely simple penetration diving. Recreational level. For the more serious penetration diving and technical profiles, it makes an excellent backup to a canister.
Do you think that handheld lights similar to this (not necessarily 3 superset torches) will soon become more popular/ practical than the traditional canister light? Other than in dives where light is required for say 5+ hours which is not possible in current handhelds.
Hi Evan, yes I do. Batterie and LED technology develop faster and faster and we already have super bright lightds without a canister that burn more then 2 hours. I do not use a canister light in most of my dives already today - except for really long dives.
Are these 3 lights slightly angled to each other, or they are completely paralel? If they are slightly angled, at what distance you made all 3 focus? How ithey behave at various distances, do they appear as 3 spots (I suppose it is not the same beam focus at 1m and at 5m)? Thanks
Want to get one of these lights. I frequently dive in areas where I need a light only for a part of my dive. My question is, how do I properly secure this light when not in use? It seems that it would be a rather large, dangling item when clipped off on the D-ring.

@@Fummelkrake1 hi, i have one which is of the new design (apparently the one in the video had issues with rusting after few years so it is now entirely POM), i never used it its just sat on my shelf as i have lots of other lights already so would sell it if you want. I am surprised it is out of production as i only bought mine a few months ago from Germany.
