I think the reason Ashley could override and set a collision course without the Captain is because the Captain, well, was dead. And died in an monitored area, so the computer knew she was the ranking (only) crewmember at the time. Thank you Airier, I probably would have missed this piece of 80' style art without your excellent reaction!
Watch the Tie Fighter animation - now please! You will NOT be disappointed. Oh, also, he uses a 3-D program to create the ships, but then hand draws everything; ships, people, monsters, etc. via digital tablet - so everything you just watched was animated through digital cell animation, which is so freaking awesome I can't even! Thank you so much for reacting to this because it was freaking awesome to watch when it came out!
In the scene were Lambert is killed when she first turns around and sees the Alien deleted shots show it in that same "Terminator" pose, with it's tail between it's legs. It was deleted because the suit looked like crap.
So the character designer for the first Bubblegum Crisis series was also the one for Gall Force: Eternal Story which straight up has an Alien homage sequence in it.
2:21 I think the other movie posters are Brazil, which was a kind of sci-fi dark comedy I think directed by Ridley Scott and I think the other might be for The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai, which is... Well, just a completely mental movie starring the guy who played Robocop, as a Cowboy-Samurai-Scientist-Rockstar, battling aliens from the 5th Dimension
@@Airier honestly I don't think it would be a proper hive, ship seems too small for a proper spot for the drone or warrior to molt to pretorian then queen, if the ship didn't crash it just be a lure for scavengers with the eggs that probably were smuggled into the ship from the station
when the computer says: april 26 (426) LV 426.... also at 6:42 theres a poster in the background of Super Dimension Fortress Macross one of the OG 80s sci-fi animes
22:17 its not that it needed the captain, it did vent without them awake yet it was just saying the captain should be informed if shes going to start venting parts of the ship, also the override was to likly brake its safety protocol otherwise the ship AI would not comply. You could also argue that the override would require the captain but they are dead so she would be next in command.
It was a long process, but we all watched him drawing with anticipation for what the final result would bring! He'll now have time to get back to his other animation projects... can't wait for what will be next! Lastly.... you've not watched his Tie Fighter short???? Wut dude!? 😐 😂
I love this animation I miss old Riddley Scott films, and this animation took slot of inspiration from it as well as from ironically enough even Dead Space. On a side note though there is some reasons to have Analog back ups for a situation of just in case everything is FUCKED and you need to just flip a manual an go all analog. I think it was Apollo 13 where everything than could go wrong did go wrong and they had to shut everything down to save on power and even then had to go all the way back to pen and paper math and flicking switches for thrust. Newer Tech well when things go wrong new devices and Digital devices just tend to just Bork new reason or understanding why they just do, under any other circumstance this is annoying but can be dealt with... So don't want to deal with this in the case of emergency LOL. Its why all emergency things are just Pull lever, Break glass then pull lever, Flick switch, etc... everyone knows on some degree and level that things will go wrong and the only thing that can and will save you is yourself. even though it may not be the time and place to say such things but Tech with no manual analog will become death traps, think Tesla's Tech like the Hyperloop, Cyber Truck, you get my point LOL. Sorry I kinda went on a small tangent there LOL and thanks for reading my post ~ Cara Malone
On the topic of Aliens content, the channel Alien Theory has several great videos, though I personally think one of his best(at least as a stand alone piece of content) was his video covering the Batman vs Predator comic.
One thing makes no sense, she opened the outer door and the alien goes into vent and gets out of the vent where she is, she should have lost atmosphere in her room too
If you love Bubblegum Crisis, and are looking for a space opera, Kenichi Sonoda did the artwork for a movie series called Gall Force. The first one is heavily based on Alien, Star Trek, and Terminator. At least watch the first movie titled Gall Force: Eternal Story.
I don't know if the ship is done in just CGI or traced over CGI, but I once saw him demonstrating the latter technique so I would imagine it's done that way.
I know that I keep talking about, but either you didn't react to OSP video in like 2 weeks or notifications failed or.... well I had hectic 2 weeks. So sorry, if I missed it.
Nah, I'm just behind. Well I'm thinking about doing the next one live since it'll be a longer video. 🤔 Not sure yet. I'll see how I feel about it later. 🤷♂️
@@Airier Damn. I hope you're fine. I assume it might not be YT Premiere, but more probably Twitch (copyright?). If it is, send some notification or something.
