@@DTX1323 the way I understand it, they reverse engineered the black goo from the Alien and the woman injected herself with it, infecting the baby which is why the creature looks like an Engineer.
There is now a huge gap between Alien, Aliens, Romulus and the rest of the franchise in terms of quality. This pleases me. We now have a third great alien film.
I had the same exact thought. The Chimera thing definitely had some Resident Evil and Blade 2/Strain kinda vibes. I personally dug it. Like a fucked up Engineer. Perhaps like one with a birth defect. Supposedly they used to look like humans and might have been combining the black goo into their dna.
Aliens is great but it's just a more digestible action oriented Alien. It's not the sci fi horror masterpiece that Scott's original film is ...but it's still great.
I think Blomkamp's Alien film would have been able to achieve Cameron's level, but Ridley Scott had the studio can the project because it would be too confusing to be released during his Prometheus films.
I'm so surprised at the complaints people have about this movie. I thought this movie was great. Everything about it from the set, directing, acting, horror aspect. Sure there isnt a perefect movie, but damn, this movie entertaining as fuck LOL.
I think it's just because they wanted another xeno slasher movie. Prometheus tried to go into deeper territory but didn't fully hit the mark. People just want the same thing over and over and they'll be happy.
Alien Aliens Alien: Romulus Prometheus Alien: Resurrection Alien: Covenant Alien vs Predator AVP 2 Edit: The sound design and sound editing in this film are oscar worthy. Practical effects are perfect. The score is as well.
I thought it resembled the engineer from prometheus and i believe that was the point....the pregnant girl kay injected herself with the black DNA from the engineer @@adriel88_
@@adriel88_ yes I was like my god open the air lock already like we didn’t see that coming …so that’s all you need is a ship full of air locks and your good lmao
I enjoyed just watching it with the hybrid it is when it starts off with some elements if Alien, Aliens, Alien Resurrection, and a reference to Prometheus. It adds to the timeline between Alien and Aliens. Still worth the watch and just enjoy it for what it is!
Obviously, it wasn't perfect, but it was a really great movie nonetheless. Like tyrone said, if you're a fan of alien and aliens, like me, you'll really enjoy it. From the nostalgia to the ambience, it's a great, intense horror that is definitely the 3rd best of the franchise.
Sounds like they started adding things from the comics. The comics had the xenomorphs take on so many variants and stages of evolution. From Tyrone's description, it sounds like they added the evolutionary stages of the xenomorphs. They grow and act like insects to a degree.
So apparently The time line is - Prometheus - Alien Covenant - Aliens - Alien Romulus ( 2024) - Aliens two It’s so confusing My thing is WHERE IS Android DAVID???
Hey, Tyrone! The resin cocoon that enabled Big Chap to hibernate in vacuum, the heat detection of the facehuggers and the pupa formed after the chestburster shed its skin were new additions to Xenomorph physiology.
I’m seeing this tomorrow at 4pm at my local AMC with my dad, so I won’t be looking at review comments for fear of massive spoilers particularly for the 3rd act which I hear is wholly original to the franchise and pure insanity. I will not be looking at any comments for fear of jackasses spoiling my 2nd most anticipated film of the summer right behind Deadpool and Wolverine,
For me I feel the same! The first 2 movies are the best and I place this movie also 3th place. For future Alien movies they should do different kind of xenomorph variations like Prowler, Spitter and Burster from the Aliens Fireteam Elite game and the variations you have with NECA toys figures in one movie instead of only 1 variant.
I like Romulus but in my opinion it is not good enough to par with prometheus. One thing is for sure. If Alien want to release a special bru-ray box set, I hope Prometheus->Alien->Alien Romulus -> Aliens in it.
I'm a huge Alien Fan, love all the movies and of course the Alien(s) itself. I'll definitely be seeing this in theaters and I can't wait, glad to see positive reviews❤Keep up the great work Tyrone!
In my opinion, this is like an updated version of the original with some sprinkles of the other movies, too. Worth the wacth for fans of the franchise. It's not reinventing the wheel or anything.
I'm French, I saw the film today. I think that Fede Alvarez didn't want to take too many risks and made a mix of the first 4 films (I easily counted 20 references) so this film has no real identity. The casting is average except for the main actress and the android. The ending is quite visible with the pregnant girl
Now that is an honest review. The way you try to explain shows it's a three out of five. I haven't seen it yet, but will my favorite alien films are Aliens, Alien, Prometheus, and Alien 3.
Personally, i liked it, but didnt love it. 7.5/10. Its a good alien movie, a good horror film. But not as good as my personal top 3 Aliens, Alien, and Covenant. But thats me I agree with this 5:59. Its not a terrible film. But i do think the hype was exaggerated a tad 🙃
the last act was like ok we got the throw backs out of the way now let's do our own shit and give our own flavor it's not the best out of 1&2 I'd put in that same order
Was a great movie but they really gotta address the final girl and what happens to her and I hope the next alien movie is on earth I really loved requiem but it was just too damn dark
I just watched Alien Romulus today. I would recommend this one to the fans of the Alien franchise like myself. The last part of the movie was a bit lengthy. I still liked it. Alien would be no.1 to me; Romulus would not be in my top 3. It's okay; I hope Fede makes the next Alien movie🪐
james cameron set the line too high but i would still rate this movie really high because its really well made, i felt im really watching an alien classic movie unlike the covenant, really well made movie
This was loads better than Prometheus. It doesn’t equal the original but it does mostly capture the oringinal’s tone. I was genuinely scared and grossed out most of the time. 7.5/10
@@jediconnor9349people really need to stop saying that just because Disney own the studio, that Disney made the film. That’s like saying Disney makes marvel films. Marvel Studios is there own studio with there own investors and ceo and everything, Disney just owns them but same with 20 century studios
I's agree it comes in third, and only had a major issue with one line that was unnecessary. It has the dame look and feel as the original film, though unlike the original where they are experienced spacers, they are young, way out of their depth, and act more on emotion, rather than common sense.
