Just to clarify infinite doesnt nessesarily mean not having an ending. Infinite just means an incalcuable number. This means most usage of the word infinite doesnt mean its endless, it just means its not worth measuring cuz it can seem like its forever or the number is too large to calculate. So an infinite universe can be doubled but theres better wishes anyway.
Let's slop em up Kev! I'm with ya! The most pop culture relevant one on the pod, as usual! Glad to see the long overdue sub count increase btw. Most slept on pop pod for sure.
I just want to say I really appreciate that the three of you still make time to do this podcast and it's various off shoots 😎 love from a true Highlander (there can be MORE than one, our culture and heritage is disappearing fast enough as it is 😂)
The acolyte was the first star wars my daughter watched with me and was excited about each week. It will always be 1) special to me 2) someones "Star Wars"
Kevin probably got the idea that Romulus had Ripley's daughter in it because of the videogame Alien: Isolation which does indeed feature Amanda Ripley searching for her mom. Romulus used things pulled directly from the game but isn't set in the same location.
Thanos literally bring back his planet to life in front of Dr. Strange using just 1 stone, just to show how his planet looked like when there was life there
i liked the first episode of the Acolyte and the middle one where they found the bad guy in the mask , and the last episode showed us that the jedi were a holes and trying to cover up that they were stupid also? which was neat
Hey… Kevin Smith! It’s 2024 and I still like Kevin Smith !! 1:54:00 I occasionally drink a Monster Energy drink ( usually the fruit flavored ones), but less than 3 per week.
Sir Smith, stop acting like you will not be remembered. No joke, you come up at least 3 times a week in the kitchen (and most) I work in. If not you by name, by film. So WADR, stop. We love you. Marc and JC, you too are loved. Thanks, gentlemen.
You didn't have to watch Hawkeye: "The world is in our hands. It's left to us guys, and we got to do something with it. Otherwise... Thanos should have killed all of us." -Steve Rogers in support group during Endgame. Also he wouldn't be talking about picking up Thor's hammer before it happened would he?
Marc's episode of Caped Crusader was by far the most memorable to me from the first season. The moment Gentleman Ghost went through a wall and Batman examined it for any kind of secret door, I knew this show was doing something different from the original animated series by dipping into the supernatural.
@KevinSmith The problem with the copyright situation is when you do it live ,, YT is very strict with that, things like twitch just mute the copyrighted things after the live stream, youtube just takes you out. SOLUTION: Videos are a different story, you can edit out and youtube will even give you the option to remove or clean out the copyrighted audio. So you can still make videos about the trailers , maybe record and upload them before the stream starts as private (while the stream is going JC can check the YT thing and click remove copy right sections) and then tell people to go watch them.
I liked the ties to Prometheus in Romulus. Prometheus gets too much hate. The only thing I didn’t like about the last part is what Marc said about the emotional resolution having already been done. But it was still an entertaining sequence, and it looked creepy as hell too imo.
Prometheus was better than Romulus. Better actors, better story , more entertaining overall. Fasabender alone gets this kid cast of Romulus outta here. Not to mention Charlize Theron and Idris Elba!
I had a feeling Kev probably hadn't seen Romulus yet. It kinda sucks when they can't talk about a film at length because either one person or the other hasn't seen it. Although I understand he's a busy man and has several things going on at any given time. Still, I would've liked to have heard his thoughts on Romulus
I felt the same way when The Matrix Resurrections. Kevin hadn’t seen it so Marc just kinda glossed over it, and they never came back and did a proper review.
The Tour De France Netflix documentary series, UNCHAINED, had the same effect on me, Marc, that the F1 doc had on you. Unprecedented access and surprisingly suspenseful, riveting seasons of television.
LoTRs had a $1b budget (capital B) and was allegedly hated and "review bombed" by incels...Looking forward to season 2. Glad Amazon kept fighting the good fight!
I envy the younglings that watched _Alien: Romulus_ as their first Alien film. In that context all the fan service that detracts from an otherwise great story probably wouldn't be annoying.
Yeah it’s fine I’ll struggle to live on 40,000 a year while RDJ gets dump truck after dump truck of money for making a movie. Yeah everything is just fine in this society
in the movie Endgame, scott found a grave yard near san fran cisco and it had new placards that read : the Vanished, so i think they didn't know what happened
@@SilentBob731 lets hope they can do it maybe start of small as a RU-vid e channel every week reviewing new releases of the latest comic books and generally doing what they did on the series. I’d tune in every week.
@@chazkhaira6621 Me too, loved that show (and several times I saw stuff that I had as a kid that I could have made a pretty penny from if I'd held on to them).
Thanos could NEVER have made the decision to double every world's resources instead of killing half of everybody. He has always thought he was in love with Death, but has in fact been in a toxic/controlling/narcissistic obsession with Her.
i like the first star wars movie because of the scenes on tatooine with no dialogue, so if they have scenes that show their town but they probably will have dialogue because it looks like earth
I don't know about some of those later movies, but there were scathing reviews of "The Godfather" and "The Godfather Part II." There's a collection of them published in a book about the "Godfather" movies that I have. You wouldn't believe the people actually going after Brando's performance, saying how bad and lazy it was. Before Del Toro tried to remake "Creature from the Black Lagoon," John Carpenter tried to do it in the 80s, but, of course, it never got off the ground. And this is for all the young people out there who don't seem to know this (cause it's not just BAMFman saying this): "Versus/vs." is pronounced "verse-es," not "verse." Put some effort into that extra syllable.
This is my gripe with movie critics. They watch a movie hoping it’s a certain way and then if it does turn out the way they thought it would then it’s too predictable.
What's funny is I remember Crash being a thing for years and I couldn't figure out why people were talking about it for years, until just now when Kevin pointed out it's actually two different movies...
Bruh…making RDJ Dr. Doom with absolutely no connection to Tony Stark is SOOOOOOOOOOOO lame! I am a HUGE RDJ fan…but there are so many great actors out there who would have KILLED that Dr. Doom role.
i think i liked the movie called Metropolis, i think it did show a city , does the megaloposis movie bother to show the whole city and what makes it a megaloposis? which is a big city
Kevin , in the tv show, Hawkeye, he looked at a urinal while peeing at a theater and someone had wrote in sharpie pen , Thanos was Right, so i think everyone on earth in the mcu knows about Thanos
They know wakanda exists their king was assassinated at the UN. On top of that at the end of the first film ta’chala says they’re no longer going to be closed off to the rest of the world which obviously ends with them building schools around the world.
Kevin , did you watch the movie, the Eternals ? did you read Jack Kirby's comic book from the 1970s , the Eternals ? in it the Deviants are all different colors, one is red, one is yellow, i think Thanos is one of them, and they weren't robots, they were eternal beings, living organic beings, and i think the mcu Thanos knew about the birth of Celestials from planets and was trying to reduce the populations so that the Celestials couldn't break apart the planets and kill everybody, that is why he said he was the only one that knew why he had to do it.
