You're not only showing the country to the rest of the world under a different light, but also changing the self perception of those albanians living abroad and have experienced racism or interiorized a poor image of their own country. I'm grateful for this! You really deserve all the love and appreciation people show you in the videos.

I am trying to learn some Albanian and so have enjoyed your series so far . Nearly skipped this one but loved Drajti . Lexi is so good with the kids but I was also impressed with the kids doing the rock climbing. They were so thoughtful when Lexi was bottling out ! They stopped me from abseiling for the same reason ! but I am listening to the spoken words in English and reading the subtitles !

Alexandra I have been told by Albanians that their country is backward. I say that they can choose to avoid the mistakes other countries have made. Yes there are advantages to being in the UK but not everything is wonderful either. You talk of brain drain and that is a great problem but so is the depopulation of rural areas. There are places that have the old , the very young and those who cannot move and I can foresee demographic issues will grow in some areas. I was discussing this with friends in Shkodra. I think many Albanians do not give credit for their own powers of resilience , ingenuity and intelligence. I think that with some better skill training and better support for small businesses Albania will flourish. I say that it is a country on the up and some think that I am an idiot but I see potential and the most important raw resource is people that have needs. Some of the brain drain will reverse as Albanians come to career breaks in their host country and decide to go home ! I am more hopeful than pessimistic. I would love to see it and be part of it just because of what the people are like.

Hopefully, kids who were born and brought up outside Albania would like to explore the Albanian language as much as the Albanian kids born and brought up in Albania are excited about learning English.
