Our Rating System:
We are both firm believers that it is unjust to review and rate an album after only hearing it one time therefore our method for reviews is much different than everyone else on RU-vid.
First off, not only do you get two individual opinions for each and every album but we actually take the time to listen to each album many times over the course of a week in order to gather elaborate opinions on it. We typically post our First Impressions of the album after listening to it for the very first time and then a week later we post our final review with a score.
Our scoring method is unique to this channel as well. We each rate the album out of 10 but anything above a 7/10 simply just gets our Toe Tag. In order for an album to make it onto the list above it must receive Two Toe Tags. It if only gets one or none then it does not make our coveted list.
Any album that receives Two Toe Tags is considered a top quality album of elite status and highly recommended by both of us. We hope to add an array of metal genres and sub-genres to our list so be sure to Subscribe and turn on Notifications so you will always be in the loop with all the awesome metal we review!
NOTICE: This is not a news/info channel. We are not a RU-vid version of Wikipedia for the bands that we discuss. There will be some videos, especially Reactions, where we get some facts or information wrong. Please understand that our purpose is simply to react to the video and not to spread knowledge about the band. We have not, nor will we ever state incorrect facts. If we are unsure of things we will be clear that we are unsure and by all means, feel free to correct us in the comments below.
Anyone who fails to understand what this channel is about and proceeds to troll our videos with nonsensical remarks will be removed from the channel. This means that any comments you post will be blocked from us and potentially to all other users as well.
We welcome constructive criticism and corrections on facts/information, just please be polite and courteous about it.

They ain’t acting bro that’s they way most of us in New Zealand are raised! From a young age we learn Maori it is taught at most schools here and from your family as well. We are a proud culture and me being a metal head just makes me even prouder to see these boys do what there doing

I think the whole reason this band is blowing up is because its exposing the world to the other side of Maori that they're not used to. Also new having it mixed with metal, I've seen a lot of people loving it just because they're so entrigued by our culture and history. Hope you enjoyed from lil ol new Zealand! Churr!

I was intrigued by the culture when I first saw Whale Rider and it is only top 5 favorite movie list. To these kids, a great huzzah for them to keep their native tongue and heritage alive. The lyrics come from a place of defense, immense pain and a yearning to keep alive the traditions of the people by engaging the rest of the world in excellent music and exceptional lyrics.

The reason the actors are believable is because us Maori have always kept or traditional values regardless of other peoples influences. Most of us where looked down on by Pakeha but most of us a half Pakeha anyway. But Maori like me also where taught traditions, that wasn't available in books

I had seen the thumbnail for this in my recommendations for a few weeks several months ago. Decided to watch to see what these kids were all about. Wasn't disappointed at all. I do get a Chaos A.D.-era Sepultura vibe from them rather than Slipknot. And for their age, they're thoroughly impressive. New Zealand is being put on the map with bands like them. I wish them nothing but success.

I love the way these guys incorporate vocal harmonies and lighter elements to break up the "brutal" sound of the verses...gives the songs elements of light and shade. This one in particular reminds me of Roots-era Sepultura with the sound and indigenous influences. Its also crazy how many reaction videos there are for this particular song. I can see half a dozen just in the top half of my "Up Next" list.

actually those were all members of a maori iwi and that was a hapu, all three members are actually of maori tribal descent and members of a marae (cultural meeting house) so they use the language and videos to give none maori and the rest of the world a bit of the history that has long been buried by European colonist on how they treated the maori as they conquered new Zealand and how they subjugated and attempted to destroy the culture.

It also kinda reminded me of Sepultura in the early years. Not quiet from the vocals, but the guitars are fucking heavy and the folk influences...just awesome.

I also hear the slipknot influence, absolutely love the fact that most of the songs are in Maori, really adds a lot of aggression. Great guitar tones and vocals. Look forward to hearing more from them

with WWE's history of entertainers from pacific islander nations and their love affair with driving hard rock/metal songs i could easily see this being someones intro music before the end of 2019

Tardy to the party here! Good review though. I would say that a lot of their songs are very thrash metal influenced... Super stoked for the success these dudes are having and wish them the best. These dudes really do go off!
