Day 1 protesting the mid-story interruptions! It works in different types of content, but with this, you're messing with the flow of the story and my immersion. I love your narrations so please add it to the beginning or the end!

So, I once worked for a computer hardware manufacturer. Every once in a while, one of our boxes would crash, because of memory corruption. If the same memory stick failed more than once, we’d probably send them replacement memory. But if this the first time it’s crashed, the official reason was “cosmic rays” flipped a bit in memory, and the OS decides to reboot the box. There are papers written on the effect, even.

Isn't that what one electric car company used to explain code shifts that caused their cars to malfunction and crash? Who'd have thought it was real.

Wasn't a Mario 64 speed run keep unbeaten bc of a bit flip by a cosmic ray?

@@jjteacher7482It’s real but quite uncommon. Rare even. That “car company” just didn’t make good cars.

@@caelestigladii - Yeah, it’s supposed to be rare. But we cited it being true some of the time, so we didn’t have to send out a lot of fresh parts. We sent after the second failure.

IT pointedly insisted that the Galactic Council replace the core with ECC memory. Sadly, the Council, not understanding one thing about technology, failed to allocate the budget for it, resulting in millennia of lost war games... a time of outrageously elevated levels of cosmic rays. And finally, though the engineers warned about and had a fix which was never implemented, a massive CME EMP wiped out everything electric in the world of the Galactic Council, plunging it back into the stone age, never again regaining the technology to allow them back into space. Heck, their refrigerators wouldn't work any more.

I'll subcribe again, but you need to lay off reusing terms for more than 3 times in each story. Previous stories have over used the word defiance in particular made the story sound like a broken record. I know some stories are written like such, but change it a bit more.

I really, really dislike it when narrator's inject their personality into reading. Sorry, just me and well my kids and friends. I think that the aforementioned people can interpret spoken words, better than most others. I'm a human, I really don't need you to explain your interpretation of a story.
