When I first saw the new design for the King Xenomorph I immediately fell in love with it, and now that it is canonically around the same size as a Queen Mother it has easily become my favorite Xenomorph variant.
Why does everyone keep calling Rogue King, its not a King its a experiment. This King here is a real one, one that has been recognized by Fox as a natural King. After all it has the design of the Sideshow King, and they have put in their description of the character with him being a fully realized cannon character.
The man who created the creature called it King, that makes it not so since it was the creator who gave it the name and what it actually is. The difference is that it is a man made being and not one that evolved. "Aliens: Rogue, also known as Aliens, Vol. 6: Rogue, is a four-issue limited comic book series that was first published by Dark Horse Comics from April-July 1993." I was referring to the comic that the creature is named after, the novelization is just a bonus.
I'm sorry, I'm not sure what your point is? You asked why the hybrid in Rogue is often called the King. Because that's how it was referred to in the comic, regardless of it being a selectively breed creature. It was supposed to be a "tame" equivalent to the Queen and male hormones were a key component in it's successful gestation which is why Kleist referred to it as a King.
No I understand why the creature in both the comics and novel is referred as King. My point is why is every iteration of the King a mere iteration of Rogue. Reference to equate to actuality, his creator did modify him but that does indicate true King like status. Regardless of his attempt at the Queen, introducing male hormones merely created a bigger Xeno. Not one a true Xeno that could qualify as a King. The fact that is was created to be tame already denounces this, that would calling a Labrador a wolf because they are of the same species. The male hormones for all we know had only the effect of a bigger stature, the programming was what was left from his failed attempts at the Queen. His creator gave him that title it is not equivalent to what he actually is, the issue that I have found with everyone is that they assume the only "King" is the one found in Rogue when there is another that is a true king and not a man made one. Sorry for the rant dude its just one of my pet peeves.
