If I had to pick just one watch to run off into the wilderness with, it would be my solar and multiband G shock square. Never needs batteries and always keeps accurate time.

My suggestion for an off the grid watch is the Casio W-S210H. It's a simple digital with a resin case, but it has great features. First it's quartz, which is important in an off grid scenario since you might not have the opportunity to set it to the correct time, so it has to be accurate, and the perpetual calendar is important for the same reason. Solar power means you won't need to swap batteries, and moon phase and tide graph provide useful insight into nature's rhythms.

As others have already commented upon, this list should have been filled with solar Casios. My AQS800W has been going strong for years and would be my first choice from my collection to have if I were to be off grid living. And on a related note, if you are completely off grid as described in the intro - why would you even need a watch???

Lol.. it's still me.. but at the rate the world is moving I'll soon be thinking of moving up to Scotland or West to Wales... nice and quiet in some areas, perfect for out-of-the-way living. Wrt price, the SM is the only really pricey watch of all those.. technically agate and jade are semi precious stones .. and ☝️ real top notch comments about that piece
