awesome . 70 years old next month and got the MUST HAVE feeling .Attempting FPV with a Finwing Hobby AIRTITAN .. great aero but it doesn't hover .I cannot afford a Quad and already have a number of four stroke 25 and 30 cc helicopters .The Align APS system looks perfect for what I need for camera work.
Its also excellent for FPV heli flyers. Without a return-to-home (RTH) feature, I never fly my FPV helis as far as my RTH planes even though they can easily do the range. RTH is no joke! :) I bought 3 Align 3GX units earlier this year in anticipation of this APS add-on! 3D position hold would be fun to just park it and look around with a zoom camera on ground targets -- good reconn & survey abilities! But, ouch, the Align APS upgrade is $800 though? I was planning on getting more than one! :(
FINALLY this has been in the works for ever! This is NOT lazy this is good for AP guys and bussiness also with the bailout feature will make learning tough manuevers easier making your learning curve shorter. Very interesting technolagy. Im currently flying hard 3d with the 3gx im hoping this will just connect to it or is it a whole new system?
Cool stuf. I want one too, that bail out can save me a lots of bucks for rebuilding my t-Rex 600 after doing new tricks and for doing some foto/video :)
looks interresting i bought a Flymentor kds and i could not setup it i hope it s gonna be more easy than a kds flymentor to setup some can tell the price APS system
4 new flyers U just gave the sport a tremendous jump. I can't tell U how many left Heli's just because of 1 out of control crash $. U will make millions $ now getting every kid in My Hood involved in Helis!
Totally nice, but more total exepensive.... not only exepensive, but other then that.. you need the 3GX Flybareless control unit also.. Please make that unit into one. 3 external units isn´t suiteble for a small Align t-rex 450SE.. there is simply not enough space for alle these "extra" units. on board.. please consider, make something like Eagle tree and in the same price range...
This is insane technology ... one does get the feeling we are moving away from the "purist" mindset though ... but good for growth of the sport/hobby and most importantly the business that backs it.
Well. just talk a little with the sales today. it cost around US$670 in my country. it must need to link to the 3GX. Actually, its not really for the beginner, FPV is more preferred. because the equipment cost a lot. using the APS can avoid the crash. and it is really difficult to crash if u installed the APS.. Said by the salesman. but electronic...... u know......~
version will need updates and strapping down and shoe goop in it lol.. there will be lots of crashes. then they will find that version 2 resets because the casing is conductive.......then there will a aspX version lol.
ANswer found! It says do not perform roll or flip up to 30 seconds before using bail out or position hold or you will get odd results. NO GOOD FOR LEARNING 3D, BAILOUT FEATURE IS USELESS
