Saw a Tesla towing an Aliner and were like, wth is that? Lol! So I looked it up. Our mouths were literally open while watching the guy unfold it! Super cool!!! And this model is awesome!!! Gotta give credit to the lady presenting it, she's great! Wish to own one someday!
I have owned 3 different Aliners over the last 14 years and enjoyed them all. That being said, prices have gotten so far out of line, I fear they are going to price themselves right out of business.
I'm interested in an A Liner, my question to you is, why have you gone through 3 in just 14 years? Are you upgrading, or was there something wrong with them that first time buyers should be aware of?
My dream RV. Easily towable, fits in my garage, off grid ready, cassette toilet, & separate shower. Built to last many years. Pop in a couple of lithium batteries & a 3,000 watt inverter and no need for hookups unless you need AC. I’d pay the premium price as it meets all my needs and I’ve owned several class A RVS and a class B. I want one.
Would like a couple inch deeper sink and a tank for the spent water. Wonder how well the shower unit drys out after use and mold prevention plays out. A fan of the step-down shower, clever for sure. Wonder how the curtain sets up? Lots of windows, room, dig the solar panel, 15” wheels and the exterior paint scheme has personality. Great video, thanks.
This is very nice and would be a great buy at say $20,000, but $52,000 is way overpriced for this Aliner. You could buy a nice used 5th wheel or toy hauler and have a house on wheels.
Well, that is the going rate for trailers like this. The Conqueror 440/490 are smaller but in the same price range. Even small off road teardrops are in the $30-40k range. The point of something like this is it can be towed by a CUV or go down off road trails without hanging up a mid sized truck. Its also nice to be able to travel the country without spending $10k+ in gas.
Over 50k?!?! You’ve gotta be joking! Do they not realize how much camper you can get from brands like Jayco for that price? And that shower is a mold and mildew nightmare waiting to happen.
Princess Craft has the best campers. PJ is not only beautiful, but she has always been so thorough in describing the campers. On the Evolution video, I do wish she had actually pulled up the shower curtain assembly to provide a clearer understanding of how that actually works. It IS a great innovation!
No screens? Or no pull out screen door? Wish the outside shower was on the other side. Can you put an awning? When will this be available and how much?
From South Africa. We have brilliant off road campers made here. I quite like this one. Only should look at an out side shower as addition. For summer time otherwise I can see that the inside shower would be fine in freezing temperatures. Just like a tiny house on wheels.
I think it's more of an emergency thing. If there's absolutely no where else to shower and it's been 3 days since you showered and you're starting to grow mold on your skin, you can build a shower.
I owner a 2019 Aliner .... Sold it after I discovered HOW BAD the interior CONDESATION was ..... HORRIBLE !!! Mold grows FAST in these because there is NO ventilation !!!!!!! CHEAPLY MADE too ....
She explained the gray water is from the sink (15:00) not the shower must have pipes, draining the shower, but didn’t see a drainpipe hole in the bottom of the shower (prototype yeah, that’s it)
I think I would rather have an outdoor shower and I am not too fond of a toilet right by the stove and refrigerator. I do like aliners, but I think the smaller one would suit me better. These are rather pricey, too.
I like it. The only change I'd want to make is having an incinerator toilet rather than a cassette. Dealing with black waste just isn't fun and an incinerator toilet is simple and just results in sterile ash.
Don't those toilets require a lot of energy to run? I don't know how practical that would be if you're going to boondock per se but I could definitely see that working with shore power,no problem. Either that or that dry flush toilet would be amazing to have in a build!
I started out with the Thetford cassette toilet system, but found emptying and cleaning the waste tank to truly be a thing of horror! Thereafter I went over to the bagging system for solids with separate container for liquids. Hygiene, dignity and horror free disposal and cleaning made a welcome return...
@@jrambo7495 It depends. There are some that run on propane and require very little electricity, and others that run solely on electricity and require a lot. In either case, they are also VERY expensive, but I still would rather pay the cost than deal with compost or blackwater. I've seen a van camper build that has the fully electric incinerator toilet, and has a very robust solar setup to accommodate running it (and a ton of other high energy consumption stuff like air conditioning), without needing to be on shore power. Having enough money seems to be the answer to everything :P I suppose a dry flush toilet is something I could deal with over a compost or cassette style toilet, but even having to throw bags of waste in a bin isn't very appealing.
This is a great refinement of the A-Liner, by putting the shower in the floor is brilliant! You gain some room…. And I was surprised when PJ lifted up the floor to show the plumbing. Great video
I have been waiting for Aliner to make these changes! Also hoping for a lithium batteries upgrade with a 3000 watt inverter option! Can’t wait till they start showing up on dealer lots!
Honestly, I think you're better off buying that on your own, aftermarket. For better quality & performance, lower cost and easier servicing. However, I'd agree that it would be nice to have space allocated with convenient mounting points and access to make it easy to set up. Especially a battery bay.
First impression it's beautiful. I do question leaks with so many part's getting connected each time you use it though. Two great idea's on paper might not be great idea's in practice and that's the shower and toilet. Privacy is all but gone with the shower and toilet, doesn't seem that big a deal at first but if you camp with friends or relatives you either have to leave the camper or sit there while someone uses either. If you're eating and someone needs to use the toilet, I just think this is great for a couple but not a family because of the lack of privacy. Most pop-ups don't even offer a shower or toilet so I guess if you compare it to those but they also don't cost over 50k either. I love the look, simplicity, price is way to high though and it just seems it will leak water
I probably wouldn't use that indoor shower due to the mold risk. It would be nice if they had an outdoor shower hookup instead or in addition. I really like this pop-up otherwise. A lot of great features. It's pretty spendy though.
That's a really good looking travel camper, which has the best of both world's, collapsible for travel and hugely spacious for camp. Excellent idea on the on demand shower, there's no room to lose to a dedicated shower room, and when required its a shower, and when it isn't, its coveted living soace! Nice to see A-Liner improving their already good products.
I like this trailer lots of nice features and I like the fact that I can store it in my own garage. I will have to check this out more in the near future. Great video showing all the options and how to set it up and tear it down.
You produce the best, most thorough videos I’ve ever seen. I love your calm and specific descriptions. Keep up the good work! PJ, one thing: height is spelled H E I G H T. WidtH has an H on the end; HEIGHT does not. You say HEIGHTH several times in every video and that isn’t a real word.
My goodness. These things have so many moving parts for set up and take down. If you pull into a campsite when it’s raining cats and dogs, or worse. You’ll just want to drive to a motel rather than try to set this camper up. And with all of those moving parts, something is going to break sooner rather than later.
i took a nap and he was still setting it up. better hope there isn't alot of skeeters around setting this up. the inside will have alot inside setting this up
great thing though, but were is the storeage room? if you go off grid with 4 persons for more than just a week end, i think you have to believe in good weather, so that you can store everything disturbing in your outside tent....or? and yes solar power is good to have, but only 180 w permanent? this folding trailer is great and makes it even better with windows around and a high roof, the shower in the floor (wrong place for me) but i think there are some upgrades needed besides the outside grill. and PJ mentioned nothing about the chassis of the trailer. is it really off road fitting? or just impostering? for good sales? (--> big wheels, uhh uhh)
Impressive popup... However, my Scion XD can't pull it. But, My 4x6 conversion sleeps comfortably with AC, TV and cooking facilities while averaging 24mpg, with a motorcycle inside it!
I knew from its looks and features it was going to be a bit costly @ $52,300 approximately. It’s very nice but just not for me nice. Thanks BTW I saw a price for about $38,000 but not sure how correct it is.
THEY ARE INSANE to think that people will PAY that HIGH of a PRICE ..... INSANE ... You will be OVER YOUR HEAD as soon as you sign the paperwork ... and resale WON'T give you HALF what it cost YOU !!!!!
I like the A-Liners because they’ll fit in the standard garage (think HOA’s). But the price was simply too high on them. So, I went with a teardrop and couldn’t be happier. If I ever decide to boondock with it, adding Solar panels and an outdoor shower would cost a few hundred each, so the teardrop really was the way to go for me.
Yeah, sorry visitors, move out the way, I am going to have a shower. Isn't it easier to swing a rope with a waterbag across a tree and have a shower? Or even hang it off the side of the Aliner?
A-Liner is an innovative design, however the resale value and durability of these kinds of units don't stack up well next to Fiberglass or Aluminum Trailers. I hope the engineering has progressed to mitigate resale value loss.
I have a Rockwood A122-S, not an A-liner, but frankly I found the durability of these pop-up A-frames to be greater than that of a standard travel trailer. The interior especially is very solid and very simple (fewer things to go wrong). The floors, counters and cabinets are definitely more solid and fixtures like the sink more substantial. (My sink is stainless steel, the ones in the travel trailers anymore are plastic). I really feel it was a significant "upgrade" in quality. One big plus is that EVERYTHING is easily accessible if you do need to repair it. I had a 24' travel trailer before this, and my A122-S is substantially quieter and less "rickety" during VERY strong winds. It felt as secure as my house. Even snow loads are less because of the slope. Ever since I bought it, I've been sleeping in it about 70% of the time - I prefer it to my house. It's very cozy. You may be right about resale value, but that meant I picked my 2013 up dirt cheap as compared to travel trailers I was looking at. More solid, fewer problems, cheaper price, cheaper and easier to tow. I couldn't be happier! I'd recommend one to anyone that doesn't need much space, they're best suited for someone camping solo or as a couple and for brief outings, like a week or two. With either more people or longer trips, you'll probably be wishing you had more space and less frequent chores. Edit: Just an afterthought, but I actually prefer these A-frames without the extra dormers. I feel dormers add more cost, weight and moving parts that can go wrong without adding much extra in the way of space. I don't see a real benefit other than aesthetics. My model doesn't have dormers, and you can comfortably fit 4 people at my dinette with no awkward bending or anything. It's just that the top of their head is a little bit sticking up into the bubble window. Still plenty of head room, even for someone 6'4", but it does feel odd the first few times. It doesn't obscure your vision, it's just weird having your head sticking out above the ceiling. Over the bed, thought, it's not missed at all - you don't need overhead space at all to sleep. It MAY make the person sleeping closest to the wall feel a little claustrophobic but it won't impact the actual space they use or even their ability to sit up a little. The inside area is similar to the space of the top bunk in a travel trailer but sloped.
I’ve heard many stories about water leaking into the inside of this “A” form trailers when raining - what about this PJ is there any disclaimer or waterproof rate to be certain on what a buyer can expect when the rain come down?
@@adventuresonwheels5272 hehe just let one of Florida's hurricanes dump a pile of water it will be soaked inside. Erma would have been a good test. 73
