Just installed a replacement Alinsea protector on my Note 9. The first screen protector cracked when I dropped the phone over 3 feet onto a tiled floor. The protector it did its job and the screen itself and the phone were absolutely fine. Thank you Alinsea! A couple of tips for fitting: 1) Remove the S pen stylus before fitting to prevent glue bunging up the latch. Make sure that the tool guide covers the hole for the S pen stylus completely - it doesn't matter if the tool guide is a few mm off centre as long as the hole is completely covered all round. 2) Be patient and wait for the liquid glue to spread by itself. It takes a while. If the glue seems to be running better to one side or one end, tilt the phone a tiny bit rather than pressing on the screen. Wait until the glue has completely stopped spreading. If it has not reached right to all the corners the gentlest of pressure from thecentre towards the corner will finish the job. 3) Leave a sticky pad in place over that stupid Bixby button so that Bixby pops up less.
Yeah I gave up after the 2 tries. The glue is just waaaay too much. When you remove the end caps it takes the screen with it as they glue together and leaves oily pockets on the screen.
This is the third time I had problems applying the glue, it runs all over the phone and it still seeps into the speaker holes. If you cure it, your speaker holes will be covered in glue- it's a pain to clean out
So even after being extra careful some glue sipped into the top speaker partially blocking it... Also after a few months use the Glass started to crack on the edges... Kinda disappointed overall. But what worries me more is, how do we remove this protector without damaging the screen? Is there a way to dissolve that glue?
The protector is nice but for veeeery busy people like us, is all these necessary just for installing a screen protector? Cant you just put the adhesive just other manufacturers?
thanks, just installed mine. went well...got a bit sticky on the side due to me not wiping the liquid fast enough but i rubbed it off with the alcohol pad later on and put on my case...doesn't bother me. the screen is clear and fingerprint works just fine.
Think I held the liquid slightly too high and it splashed. Caused a few tiny bubbles. Might try it again at some point. Dries very quickly with the UV light so make sure the glass is aligned properly before putting the light on it.
Returning this. It's too easy to mess up. I didn't know there would be FIVE MINUTES of curing it BY HAND WAVING A LAMP manually. And how sickening the glue is when I messed up and had to peel the glass off to start over. The glue puddled everywhere and I couldn't get it to wipe off the phone even with alcohol. The smell is nauseating and my fingers burn. The glass and glue method looks legit. But it's for professionals. It's too much work
Yaaaa. that is what I have found out. In fact I cleaned my phone, pilled the protector only to be shocked. Of course after the shock of the other 15 parts.
I installed mine perfectly..then after 3 days my phone dropped and all the glue moved to one side. Tried moving it back but nop. So my half screen is bubbles very disappointed
This product is terrible. If you’re reading this prior to application, repack it and get a refund while you can. If you’re reading this too late, I feel your pain.
I'm trying to take it off without destroying my phone, it's so hard! Why didn't I listen to the common sense voice in my head that asked, "Should you really be gluing things to your screen?"
@@jackvine1348 That's only possibly true if the tempered glass isn't broken. If it is, it's incredibly difficult to scrape off without damaging your phone.
@@johnscratch2859 That ended up being part of my solution. I bought a packet of plastic razors that fit into a scraper. I would alternate: 90 seconds with hairdryer, then scrape about an inch off before I needed a new razor. Repeat process. Absolutely ridiculous hours-long process and would never want to do this again. Tiny pieces of glass everywhere (thankfully only some minor cuts). Surprisingly I didn't totally destroy my screen, though there are a couple tiny scratches now and the oleophobic coating is done for. So much for "protecting" my device!
