Since the king on h6 is already kind of boxed in, white comfortably avoids the 50 move rule. Nxh5, Bd8 is mate in around 30 moves. But black loses the knight in 18.
Flag does makes sense since it is a team game and point format is different 4 points if black win, 3 points if white wine draw gives 1 point each. Format feels exciting for me atleast.
That was one of the greatest and clever'st move by Alireza , he's a 🦊 🤌🏻❤️👍🏻 !!! He had to factor : 1) Magnus's queen 2) His and Magnus's time 3) win for his team I feel, it's wrong to call it a "dirty flag" !
@@michaelmerk64 it's same like mouse slip or net lag and if you now compare both the situation you will find it interesting that organisers want something like net lag or mouse slip over the board
@@sha2b anything that exists in history does not make that thing great and even if it existed back then there must be some reason why it was not used for almost 20 years (hikaru said 20 years ago was probably the last time) I like flagging but in online chess Offline chess must have increment and then if some one gets flagged it's fine
Should have pushed through to get in at Season 1 itself. MVL could have been replaced by him but MVL lead his team to the final in Season 1, how can you replace him. Now maybe once the league is expanded with more teams. This could become a league like IPL or European Football ones.
The dirty flag win is not dirty, The top level player are getting to way to soft when it comes to time trouble, by using Time increment as a life line helping hand, salvation a rescue!! Us lower ratted players not learning about time increment
Alireza did what he had to do. He's there to use every opportunity for the win. Now, me personally, I think this kind of scramble over the board is just ugly and I don't see the beauty of chess in it. Winning or losing in this kind of situation means nothing to me. No increment over the board is just dumb imo.
