I cant believe how good that performance sounded! Usually theres some type of difference of sound somewhere in studio to live versions but this has gotta be one of the best live performances i have seen
She is a true songbird - I discovered this song when I realized how good the Twister Soundtrack is and bought it last year. Her range and key changes are beautiful
Given you have had 5 years to develop your opinion is Virtual Reality the best song on that album or is it just me lol. My favorite is actually Long Way Down then Twisted but nothing gets me dancing like a fool on the way to work like Virtual Reality
you dont see someone sing a song live like that anymore! its those effortless highs, consistency, brilliance throughout. Jay Leno just casually making hair jokes after just highlights the juxtaposition wherein true art is showcased on pulp late night shows as though performances like this are a dime a dozen. this is a great song, the motion picture notwithstanding

This song reminds me of one of the hardest times in my life, and even though so bittersweet, I just love this song and the memories I have each time I hear it. She is such a beautiful singer/performer.
Few times have I seen such a consistent performance... this is as close as a band can get to not needing post production at all... it's just like the album! So long ago and yet as powerful and relevant as day 1 PS: Damn that solo is smooth!
If you were unfortunate to ever find yourself trapped in a cave or a mine shaft alone for many days. With sound of silence playing tricks on your ears and the insatiable need to see light adding to the paranoia, and starving for another soul to keep you from falling apart, in my opinion would be hell all on its own. A complete denial of any life form to associate you with the Creator and your soul would collapse from the loneliness. Give thanks for the songbirds that cheerfully chirp and blow wondrous melodies saying God made me to sing and bring delight to your senses with songs of love to reassure you for HIS love for you. Then this songbird comes in and opens the flood gates. AAAAHHHH Thank you Father.

This cracked me up because they finally uploaded it. I hadn't seen the movie for years and watched it on NF the other night. It still holds up extremely well despite being nearly 25 years old. This is one of the best songs on the soundtrack.
Voice Of An Angel...and Alison Krauss & Union Station do it just as well live as in the studio!! (Although I do recommend the studio version, as you get the full 5-minute version of this amazing song!!)
This band deserves more attention,but even tho they're not as popular it just shows how real they're, today we got some fake ass artists who sell out just for the fame.

Wow..one of the BEST live performances ever. Almost feels wasted on the Tonight Show. LOL Speaking of Leno..guy has always given off a creeper/letch vibe with women. Him going on and on about her hair was a bit disturbing.
This is NOT the original band, the only two members here that may have been in the original line up are Barry Bales and Ron Block, the rest most certainly weren't. Take a look at some of Alison's earlier videos on YT.
