nah. he is exactly right. When Alex went against old Blachowicz he barely got the nod. All it takes is a proper wrestler. Because of UFC match making people think he is some kind of magician when in reality they are not getting him grappling heavy opponents.
The fact that the fighters fough multiple times a night is also overlooked. Sometimes the fighter that won could not continue because of injuries. As a dutchman i especially enjoyed it because we had so many good fighters.
@@i.c.wiener2750 he’s been exposed already but again I reiterate because of his K.O. power he will always be a crowd draw same as the Reem was even though he lost quite a few.
Rashad was juiced that's why he took on this whole vegan identity to make it look like he was clean, many fighters all of sudden dropped after usada, Nick and Nate much respect to being skinny fat and being warriors
I would have liked to hear Overeem about how it was possible that Sapp had won twice against Hoost, and then always lost to everyone else. He walked right through Hoost's lowkicks and punches.
At the beginning of his career, Sapp weighed 160 kg and was "supported" by drugs that improved his condition and raised his pain threshold. Normally, Hoost's kicks would have made him cry, but the appropriate painkillers did the trick. That's the only reason he won against Hoost. Shortly afterwards, Cro Cop broke his orbital bone and then painkillers no longer helped :) Sapp wasn't a real fighter. This is obvious. However, he had to face some of the best kickboxers and MMA fighters in history. But in the version from the beginning of his career, he could destroy the entire current UFC heavyweight division. Without any specific skills. Just brutal mass, strength and a bit of "assistance". Regards.
Izzy vs Adesnaya 1 and 2 the kickboxing fights took place in promotion callee Glory of Heroes not to be mistaken with Glory Kickboxing which is basically the UFC of kickboxing. Highest level of KB these days is GKB and OneFC.
The gap between Pereira's stand up game and for most of his opponents is very big except for Adesanya but he's the still the greater striker though than Adesanya even though it's not by much. The point I'm trying to make is that Alex's striking game is so good that he very rarely has to focus on trying to take his opponent down. The only time I saw Pereira trying to take down his opponent in the UFC was vs Adesanya and that was only one attempt.
Fighter delusion is real. Crazy how many guys that arent even close to being as good as someone like Alex says he isnt that good and doesnt have a long future. Like whattt??? Alec wad 2 division glory now 2 division ufc champ defeated 5 world champions and defended his title. Hall of fame status. Overeem mad jealous and delusional
You have never witnessed prime Overeem and it shows. All Overeem said was it only takes 1 person to expose Alex" weakness. Do you remember Cyril Gane vs Jon Jones? That's Pereira vs. a wrestler.
overheem is saying pereira isnt well rounded enough to not be figured out by some guy . he doens t have the groundgame to go to plan be when someone comes in targeting his weker side . and time will tell , meanwhile you just showed you joined the show after the rampage era
@@CunningStuntsGoFast Except saying Alex doesn't have a ground game is delusional. Overeem was figured out by 19 guys, he was KOed 14 times and submitted 2 times. He was 7-7 in Pride and 12-8 in the UFC. Overeem has no place to talk when all 8 loses in the UFC came by KO/TKO. I've been watching UFC since I was 15 in 2005.
@@CunningStuntsGoFast And every single fighter in the world "gets figured out" by another fighter eventually. Nobody has been able to manhandle Alex in grappling or on the ground...if it was that easy someone would have done it by now. It's crazy you are claiming OP just started watching MMA when you clearly have no fucking clue what you are talking about.
No, Alex would have destroyed Rampage's legs in under 30 seconds and then KO him. Rampage would have to rush in and try to take Alex down to win. Rampage would have a 20% chance to win on the feet.
@@VoiceofTruth-ne9dr Pereira is probably on something. Not the complete and unholy stack of the PrideFC vets, but probably something that is and has been kept under the radar from the the testing agencies. That's just how it goes. He fought abroad as a Kickboxer... not like 'roids are unheard of in that sport. He is also from Brazil where gear can be bought from over-the-counter because of legal loopholes. Not uncommon for youths to take the stuff growing up, either, over there. Now that USADA is out of the picture, it'll be easier for everybody to get their fill and I think we'll see bigger and crazier highlights from this new age of the UFC. Pereira and Overeem are similar in size, as far as stature is concerned. And Overeem's chin was always suspect. I'd have to give it to Alex, if the two fought during each others' primes.
@@AguyR1401everyone I like isn't on PEDs and everyone I dislike is. Simple as. It's absolutely foolish to think the vast majority of people at the top of any sport, much less a combat sport, isn't on something. People who think because you never pop doesn't mean you're not on something know nothing about PEDs
Overeem keep talking shit about everything. He should has stopped of do this since when Antonio Silva put him to sleep. Alex is a former kickboxer (like you), why not give support for this guy? Sounds like envy.
@@Tomas-wm3pk Exactly brother. Alistair for example, he conquered the belt in Strikeforce, but nobody knows, he fought less than 4 fights against easy fighters. I'm not trying to decrease his abilities, he was really good, but as fighting is his skills to talk shit.
It's odd to see Overeem being smaller than Rampage now. Yes, he had been once back then in Pride, but during his Strikeforce and early UFC years, no one was bigger than him except Brock.
Oh man that weigh in against Brock was absolutely crazy.. I've never seen someone make Brock look average like that. That being said Alistair being way smaller now is a very healthy decision longevity wise.
Rampage and Overeem acting like Glory is some no name Chinese promotion is retarded...it 's headquarters are located in the UK and they have held fights all over the world, yet K-1 was based out of Japan, and was owned by the Yakuza, so let's not act like a vast majority of fights weren't rigged either. And then Overeem saying Alex won't do good in MMA because "he doesn't have a ground game" is the same thing everyone keeps saying about the dude, that just isn't true on multiple levels. There are fighter's with much worse grappling and ground games that have done great in the UFC. And if anyone thinks Alex hasn't been working on grappling or jiu-jitsu since he switched to MMA have to be either a complete hater or just delusional. Sure he will never been an elite grappler and submission artist, but as long as he can protect himself in grappling exchanges and on the ground, which he has already shown he is capable of doing, then he is perfectly fine.
The Yakuza started running dice games and from there went into other illegal entertainment activities. Somehow they've parlayed that into running early pro wrestling and later things like K-1 and PRIDE. Look at the story of Rikidozan, he was Japan's Hulk Hogan and was taken out by them for crossing them.
He still won every fight after he got busted. The problem was his chin wasn't there anymore and everyone was knocking him out by chance. But if you rewatch the fights, he wins every round until he gets knocked out.
Alex got knocked out cold by Adedanya on his last fight. Alex was gone for good 5 minutes lmao. He can be knocked out, he can also be submitted it’s just he hasn’t faced a wrestler up until now.
I don't know if I understood correctly since english is not my native language, but did fucking OVEREEM used Wand and Sapp as examples of steroids users and did not blush? Him? Of all people? He was gigantic eating chicken and broccoli?
Overeem talking reckless here. Alex was 2x worldchampion in Glory. Glory, Ubereem. That is that same company that gave you a ban last year, for juicing against Badr. Dumb@ss. ✌️ from the 🇳🇱
why does everyone have recency bias? accept the truth that Alex Pereira hasn't grappled hard once in the UFC. i'm not saying he couldn't, but he just HASN'T. and that's a fact, not an opinion.
To all the PEOPLE hateing on alister mma my have progressed in the last 15 years but striking in my opinion especially k1 has seen a massive decline this is partly due to mmas popularity. K1 in the late 90s early to mid 2000 was a diffrent animal and the roster from this peroid in my opinion was by far the best and stacked. This being said i like periera but a guy who can get knocked out but adasanya isnt going to last in that period simole as
Ok, look. When it comes to "juice" - there's testosterone (which most humans produce), and then there's steroids. I wonder if this is what Overeem is referring to when he mentions Sapp and Silva if you follow me. I contemplate this, as I wonder if athletes don't consider "test" as unnatural? I'm purely speculating here and a few beers down.
@@rsns776 Overeem has won more titles than Pereira. Overeem has competed and won in K1 against the biggest names the sport has ever seen. Alex isn't bad either, but Overeem already pissed in every pond before Alex even stepped a foot in.
@@rsns776 He also faced roid abusers. Look at the matches he fought before the UFC. Look how his opponents looked in K1, Strikeforce, Dream, whatever....
We'll see in December when he fights Ankalaev, and I have a feeling he will beat Ankalaev too because everyone's underestimating his ground game and he'll keep winning hopefully. Chama!
how are they protecting him from wrestlers? the people he fought since being LHW was Jan, who was the former light heavyweight champion, Jiri which was the LHW but had to vacate because of an injury, Hill which was LHW champion that had to vacate because of an injury and Jiri again who was the number one contender. how can you say they are protecting him when the only top 5 in LHW that is a wrestler is Ankalaev and he hasn't even defeated someone in top 5 rankings yet?
