From visionary filmmakers James Cameron (AVATAR) and Robert Rodriguez (SIN CITY), comes ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL, an epic adventure of hope and empowerment. When Alita (Rosa Salazar) awakens with no memory of who she is in a future world she does not recognize, she is taken in by Ido (Christoph Waltz), a compassionate doctor who realizes that somewhere in this abandoned cyborg shell is the heart and soul of a young woman with an extraordinary past. As Alita learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City, Ido tries to shield her from her mysterious history while her street-smart new friend Hugo (Keean Johnson) offers instead to help trigger her memories. But it is only when the deadly and corrupt forces that run the city come after Alita that she discovers a clue to her past - she has unique fighting abilities that those in power will stop at nothing to control. If she can stay out of their grasp, she could be the key to saving her friends, her family and the world she's grown to love.

There were a few really amazing lines in that movie. One of my faves: "You're so beautiful. I'm going to rip you open and see if you're ugly on the inside -- like the others." And of course: "He wasn't a dog lover. I hate that."

It is the best movie I have seen in a long time. I think it is my favorite movie ever. I'm not even joking. Are there flaws? Of course. Despite these (minor) flaws, it is a moving story, the best action CGI yet, and frankly, the best CGI period. Rosa's performance as Alita was phenomenal. And for those who quibble about the ending- I loved it. Each of the characters goes through a story arc of growth, and for each of them, their arc is in one way or another driven by Alita's combination of strength, love, and innocence. Alita's arc is of course the biggest of all, from a piece of garbage, to an innocent young girl, to a young woman on mission to find herself, to a woman on a mission to save those she loves, and finally on a mission to save the world. I don't care what others say. Its a great story, and beautifully told. Thank you James, WETA, Robert, and Rosa. You guys rule.

This movie is so nuanced. I can think of a several ways where it could have gone wrong. But the right balance was what made it work. I just want to cry because of how beautiful it was. Storytelling and good characterization at it's best!

This is the kind of movie you want to watch more than once, whether alone or with your friends. The actions is intensely amazing and the story is not bad at all. I hope this movie got what it deserve so the sequel could be made. I really think the plot holes in this movie will be filled in the second movie. Enjoyment: 8.5.

This a great movie. Excellent use of technology to appear seamless. It’s a new tale of Pinocchio, of someone growing up from naive child to a grown up. I give it 5 thumbs up. James Cameron does it again with a successful film.

When she says "and you know. You've always known." Even though I've seen it multiple times, it is at that moment I completely forget it is a CGI manga of Rosa's face, and am just moved by Rosa's performance.

James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez have took a great story and turned it into a amazing film and roza Salazar has blown me away and I’m not sure if it’s her or the special effects team at weta but I’ve never had a experience when I’ve got watery eyes from a film the end scene on the pipe destroys me every time even typing this is making me well up lol I need to get off the soy milk 😂

I think ALita killed all of the marvel superheroes already.. for the very first time a CGI character is my favorite actress. I think in the future most of Superstars will be cgi's characters and I should say to me they are more lovable then any other real actor or actresses. James Cameron works are always unique, he always bring something completely original and new. I always go to movie theater to see James Cameron's films for three to four times. And each time I enjoy it like the first time. He's films worth to watch over and over and over and over... And also I should say for the first time I saw a character CGI have a soul....... Ridley Scott, Christopher Nolan, Michael Bay, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg others compared to James Cameron have absolutely nothing to say....

hearing from every department, such as the musicians, choreographers, directors, producers, actors, everyone wanted to make this movie as pure and true as possible whilst executing near perfect animation and cgi. As a person who was not into anime or manga, this movie made me look for the manga to read about alita's story. Disney, APPROVE A SEQUEL!!!! At 1:13 when Rosa being interviewed says "She was my person to look up to"...listen closely to how chopped and edited that comment is, every single word is changed. Rosa said something completely different, but they chopped up her words and turned them into something the audience would like more.

I loved this movie. I went to see it on a big screen in the movie theater. It was high res. Totally amazing. The ending got stupid but the first part of the movie was ineffable. If this ever comes back to a movie theater near me, I will definitely go see it again as many times as I can.

Antes de ver esta peli no tenía ni put.. Idea de que era GUNNM, Gally, Alita o Yukito Kishiro, jajajaja. Y la verdad, ni me interesa que tan fiel es la peli con respecto al original, la película es espectacular..! La mejor que he visto en años, solo superada por Interestelar. Lo triste y malo es que tengo entendido que si no hay buena recaudación no habrá secuela, hasta este momento creo que lleva 407 MDD.

Alita had no right being such a good movie considering that these type of "high concept" sci-fi action movies featuring a female lead are so hard to get right. Consider similar films such as Æon Flux featuring Charlize Theron. An Oscar winning actress was wasted in that film due to the poor execution when adapting the source material to the big screen (To be fair, MTV execs ruined the original vision of the director by meddling with the production). Alita could've also ended up being as bad and boring as "Ultraviolet" featuring Milla Jovovich. That's another movie with a female super soldier that fights using a katana set in the future. Alita is an adaptation that is loosely based on a manga. The fact that it took many liberties from the source material, almost made it a sure bet that the movie would be a disaster. But the fact is, this Alita movie worked! Its a pretty competent movie with a lot of heart. Its pretty amazing that it did work all things considered.
