Dear Jatin Sir, What a wonderful gesture you laid out today about Alka Yagnik. I have been listening to Alka Yagnik since my childhood. She has got pure Indian voice and morning freshness in her tone, perfect voice for Bollywood actress. Having said that I could not express enough to praise her as regard the best voice in Indian music industry. She is my all time favourite singer. In 90’s whatever songs were in the movie I always expected that Alka should have sung that song. If however any other female singer sang any song I always thought Alka would have sung better and she would have given cent percent accomplishment to that particular song. I respect her as a music goddess, she is a pride of India. I always wondered where she is from originally and expected to have some sorts of Bengali link to her. It took me while to find out that she is Gujrati but born and raised in Kolkata. By the way I am Bengali myself but live in London. Jatin Sir I have request to you please carry on making you tube video as it feels you talking to us directly and it gives hints of hope and pleasure about music.

The way Alkaji has sung it is extraordinary, your music was top class as always, and Kajol in the movie took it to another level too. Masterpiece song. Finally, about Filmfare Awards, I remember those periods of your dominance. I was your big fan and my brother was ARRahman fan, and we many times had tussle regarding filmfare awards. ARR was a big brand already and he was winning most awards. If not for him, Jatin Lalit would have got at least 5 awards I believe. But destiny, luck.. beyond our hands. But you can be so so proud of your music, pure Indian, pure melody, rooted music. Millions of fans all over the world. And that nobody can take away. God bless you and Lalit always.

Alka Yagnik has definitely been a singer of the highest quality but unlike her male counterparts I feel her voice has really matured and lost its young innocent sweetness. Though Alka still sounds great but I feel she should now be used the same way Lata Mangeshkar was used towards her latter stages of her career. A truly fantastic singer.

Shame on Filmfare that they couldn’t honour such legendary musicians with a single award. However, I think you have got people’s love and respect which is the biggest award of all. I am also a huge fan of both Pritam and Anand-Milind as well and it was a pleasure hearing you praise your contemporaries - not just for the sake of doing it, but genuine praise and admiration. I am waiting for more uploads - please share with us about Kavita Krishnamurthy and Sadhna Sargam (with whom you have't done as many songs, but the ones that you have, stand out!). Please also talk about Khamoshi. The music of that film is something else - I've mentioned before that the songs of that film could easily have been a parody on Goan music, but it wasn't. It took Goa to a new level - the flavor of the state, the magic of SLB and of course the genius of Jatin-Lalit and team. Everytime I listen to the soundtrack, I can feel the presence of something divine - every song is a gem - even the lesser known Mausam Ki Sargam Ko Sunn - I love how Kavita mam and Shradha Pandit sing the aalap in turns. Also, a piano piece from this film was later used (and beautifully developed into) another favorite Jatin-Lalit creation - Pyar Koi Khel Nahi ... please do talk about that too when you get the chance. Film(un)fare - the less said the better.
