Dr.Mandell, can you please share me your views on KANGEN MACHINE WATER..I have been taking antacid 3 times in a week...till a friend of mine..asked me to drink ALKALISED WATER..so it is almost a month..I haven't taken any antacid till date.

I have a 1950s copy of a health book written by who started prevention magazine. it lists a lot of acidic foods that turn alkaline when digested and alkaline ones that turn acidic. but then it also lists foods that are neutral one of which is bread. what's interesting is the book said to write your Senator to outlaw any type of plastic silverware or dishes being used with hot liquids or Foods because it leaks poisons out including formaldehyde and that hospitals should never use them. better to have the dishes break at times than poison those who are already sick. see they knew that early but obviously nobody cared
you check the ingridient chemical they used to make those plastic silver wares and paper plates/boxes for pitza etc. they must be the one leaking out and mix with what you intake or inhale.
I don’t understand the logic. So if you drank 160 oz of alkaline water compared to 160 of regular spring. Your stomach will be the same acidity? No less? Asking because I sometimes get heartburn from regular water when I’m not eating right, but even when I’m not eating right, alkaline water keeps me from getting the heartburn
To all who don’t understand. Alkaline water (8-9pH) isn’t better than normal water (7.0pH). You’re stomach acid is too strong 1.5-3.5pH for the alkaline water to have any effect on your body’s chemistry. It is a waste of money.
@@Classical2000 yes regular filtered spring water, lake or glacial water is just fine. The only thing you may want to look out for is a good mineral content if you care that much about what is in your water.
I’ve been drinking alkaline water for years. I used to have terrible acid reflux and gastrointestinal pain from it (runs in my family). I started drinking alkaline water and within a few months all those issues went away.
Did you use to take prescription acid reflux tablets before you started using alkaline water? And if alkaline water worked for you have you stopped the use of medication to combat the reflux issues if you did?

It’s simply that it’s not better for you. You’re stomach acid is so strong it doesn’t stand a chance of having any measurable effect on pH. You’re body naturally maintains the pH that it needs aside from potential health issues which alkaline water won’t effect.

I have been drinking alkaline water for years now. In my personal case, since drinking alkaline water I no longer struggle with kidney stones, kidney infections or chronic UTI. There have been occasions where I didn’t have access to alkaline water for up to 3 days and would drink bottled spring water and immediately get a uti, or begin feeling kidney pain. Now I never go without it. Ever.
Same here. Bottled water like Poland Spring tastes disgusting and makes me feel extremely heavy after drinking it. Drinking Essentia water makes me feel almost weightless, even after a strong workout and I don't have that heavy feeling, even if I drink a lot of it. After watching an alkaline/Ph test of water and how must bottle water has a dark brown look of how dirty it really is, that forever changed me and I drink nothing but essentia now
The solution is:- don't make this thing industrial just make alkaline water *at home* and see the magic just don't opt. for buying this from outside then all the things will be veryy fine......
For me, alkaline water definitely works in terms of reducing my acid reflux symptoms. But I use an alkaline pitcher and filter system so it’s nowhere near those outrageous costs of the bottled alkaline water. If I transition to regular water, even purified, I feel OK the first day, but by the second day, I definitely don’t feel as well. For me, it’s definitely not a hoax. That being said, though - if you don’t have acid reflux, or if you don’t drink over 100 ounces a day as I do, regular water would probably be just fine.
It'll help temporarily but your ulcer is probably getting worse You need to change your diet for at least a few months to one that won't irritate it at all and then slowly integrate foods and see how they react with you
Okay, but some of us deal with reflux, which is depositing pepsin in our throats and sinuses, by drinking alkaline water, which neutralizes it. It has very little to do with what’s happening in the stomach.
Exactly some people forget that some folks need to watch acidic foods in the region between mouth and stomach while it heals. Alkaline water helped me with bloating and trapped gas! I couldn't burp before,I drink it slowly and sitting down! My Dr got condescending with me when I mentioned it. Um I think I know what gives me relief!

Once there’s a layer of that on your tissues, it’s hanging around for a while. Each successive time you eat acidic foods, it causes inflammation. You’ve gotta consume a ph8+ water to neutralize it.
I don’t agree, when you eat/drink acidic substances your body eliminates acid in a few different ways, co2 from your breath, Uric acid from urine and pulling from bone deposits to neutralize acid, the less acid we intake, the less acid your body has to buffer, I do agree that the body is extremely resilient and amazing at doing most of these processes, but we can do things that can help our body get along easier

I use alkaline water to combat acid reflux. Not that it happens often, but there are times I wake up due to a "verp", with a terrible acid burn in my throat. The alkaline water quickly and effectively reduces and then removes that terrible burn.
@@joansmith6844 As long as the alkaline water hits your stomach & it does, of course- The very acidic stomach - that we all have- will immediately LOSE the alkaline & become acidic. I think the alkaline water that seems to make the acid reflux calm down is because the water might reach the place responsible for the disturbance- BEFORE it reaches stomach. Just a good educated guess ( ?).

Your blood is 90 % water, the right kind of water cleans your blood. Active hydrogen water from a Japanese water ionizer cleans your blood and is the only system I recommend.
This isn’t really that true, ph 1-2 refers to the concentration of H+ ions to OH- ions in the logarithmic scale, it *does not* mean that weak alkali cannot neutralize the solution. A neutralized solution is when the number of H+ and OH- ions are equal. Drinking a weak alkaline water *in excess* will most definitely neutralize the acid once the both acid and alkali ions are equal.

And a lot of Alkaline water brands are just purified tap water with sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) added to it like Essentia, etc. Go for natural spring water. There are many spring waters that come alkaline by Mother Nature and have naturally occurring electrolytes as well, like Waiakea and Evian.

@@jcm973 You have to understand that alkaline water is so mildly alkaline, a drop of lemon returns it to acidity. Meaning drinking a glass cannot make a dent in acid in your stomach. It’s hydrochloric acid, as strong and corrosive as it gets
Speaking of apple cider vinegar ACV, years ago, if I ate anything with too much fat in it, I would have horrible pain. I discovered that when I drank a teaspoon of ACV in a cup of water , the pain would stop almost instantly. I hope this helps someone. Several years ago, while in our late 50s, my husband found an inexpensive mineral water with a pH of 8. We started drinking it because our tap water was full of nitrates from the farming. After only a couple of weeks, my husband and I both lost weight. I lost 5 pounds, he lost 12! I wasn't overweight, he was. So it wasn't just fat, It was the toxins leaving our body. You can also overdo it on the Alkalinity. So bottom line, study both subjects and stay away from gunk food.
Well water is best on its own, I grow up drinking and using well water for every thing. But we boil the well water that we will be using to drink let it cool off and pour it in the filter to drink. Well water as my grant grant grandad always told me that the well water has it's natural minerals and he and spring water from the mountain, clean stream of river where it's water is from the mountain

Bc the surgeon who invented the colon scope forget Name but he won’t even see patient until he has been on Kangen water for few weeks. The water not only gives many diff ph water levels, but also micro clusters the molecules down so hydrates the cells quicker. I’ve noticed big 😊diff after being on Kangen water since Feb. Cleaner less constipation, my face clearer, healed my eye of pink eye using the higher ph. I love my machine…. I esp use the 6.0ph for my plants. They absolutely love it! Also the highest level is a disinfectant! Great to clean things like wooden cutting boards, kitchen areas & kids toys. Also removes pesticides from vegts! Here is my take, and listen to the Drs like Andrew Weill , not alkaline water from processing plant but from natural wells.Big difference.Other than that, it makes great coffee. Brands of real stuff include Eternal , Evamore, Crazy Water(# 3 or4). C-force, etc.
The PH in your body is any where from 7 to 8 in different parts of the body. Seems like common sense the closer to those numbers you consume the less work your body has to do to adjust the PH. Less work = better

That’s not the point lmao. Your stomach will remain acidic. The point is not to alkalinize stomach acids 😂 it’s your bodies ph.. which if you consume alkaline things exclusively, you will be in a alkaline state

This may be true, but picture this, you drink a water with a ph of 7, and let’s say your stomach acid drops that ph level by 3. Essentially you’re now absorbing a water with a ph of 4. Now do the same with an alkaline water with a ph of 9, stomach acid drops that ph by 3. Now you are absorbing water with a ph of 6. Is that how this works, or no? Because if so, the alkaline water is more beneficial over standard ph water, because it starts off with a higher ph, then dilutes to a balanced ph level, right where we need it. Versus, a lower ph, dropping below where we need it. I hope that makes sense. Is it a simple dilution process like that?
I over the years have trouble with bladder infections & occ a kidney infection.. Worse in summer when I ger dehydrated. ...a friend said mix some baking soda in water if you feel one starting. So I mix ?? Tablespoon in 4-6 ounces water stir it up & drink it. If you can't taste it I put little more baking soda..if it tastes too strong I add bit more water ...also I have POTS ( pee out my salt it dehydrates me so have to drink lots of water suppose to drink 1 gallon of water most days ..if I've over done the water I stop drink bit of the nasty baking soda water & get my electrolytes back I didn't know you could buy alkaline water plus I'm cheap baking soda cost pennys.. Also a higher diet in some vegetables beans etc is more alkaline.. I'm not so good at that anyway good luck

I've always questioned the alkaline water thing but we learned in chemistry that acids and bases mix making salts and water which can disassociate again later. So it can still pass further into your digestive track and have later effects in digestion/ absorption. Not sure this video proves anything...
Thanks doc but I’m one of those people who isn’t buying any water, I use filtered tap water bring it to a boil, let it cool , bottle it and refrigerate it and if I want I can add lime or lemon to it, that way I’m sure of what I’m drinking
