Daeodon was a vicious predator swrve and it is anything but a good food source, in fact it belongs to the group of mammals closely related to hippos and pigs called "Entelodons" and scientists literally nicknamed them "Hell Pigs"
Yeah mutant pigs. I personally think the Daeodon is one of the only models which should be improved by the dev team cause it looks too cute and smooth. It should look more fearsome and “edgier”. Like a giant more savage warthog so to speak
Daeodon is very much *NOT* a food source . These things were top of the food chain when they were alive, hunting ancient horses, rhinos and fighting against some lf the deadliest mammals of all time like hyaenodon. Extremely fast, powerful and carnivorous. If they remake it accurate in this game, it will be the one making others food.
Is this all of the new mammals or mammals you want in the game, nvm it sais wish list,ye I want doedic, basil, thylicolia(marsupial lion),gigantipithicus, equus, megalania(not a mammal, aepecamelot, argentavis, pelagornis and andrewsarcus.
While I'm excited for all of them, I think I'm most excited for the Daeodon. It's an entelodont, and I really like entelodonts, and they were also featured in Walking with Beasts in the episode "Land of Giants".
That’s exactly what I saw as a kid! And tbh even I really really honour the amazing work the PK team does I think the daeodon and hyenadon should look more like in walking with beasts. Both look more savage and cunning there at least in my opinion and that’s how I captured them since both were top predators during that one period.
It would be cool if, eventually, they add a DLC for recent animal extinctions. If they do, my picks are... 1. Thylacine 2. Dodo 3. Moa 4. Quagga 5. Japanese wolf for the wild card And for the mini-exhibits, maybe a Passenger Pigeon or California Parakeet
10: bos 9: megaloceros 8: cave bear 7: mammoth 6: daodon 5: indrocotherium (paraceratherium) i watched walking with beasts so i call it indrocotherium. 4: Megatherium 3: wooly rhino 2: hyenaodon 1: smilodon So thats my list
Fun fact Hyaenodons are not related at all the hyenas. They're not even in the order carnivora. They were called that because paleontologists think they would have jaws as strong as modern hyenas (I.e bone crushing) -don just means teeth in scientific names. So the hyena-like toothed predator : P
Wasn’t there a predator who looked liked a giant wolf/hyena who had hoofs and is a carnivore ancestor to modern goats? Maybe you know what I mean. Would really love to see that in the game
You know, it is a bit stupid to say that I want a lot of dlc, but I really want this game to get a lot of dlc with new creatures. I really love them doing some mammals, but as a fan of prehistoric stuff, it is never enough and I'd be happy to give a bit more to get a bit more.
Just think if we could get an ancient amphibian dlc, or a crocodilomorph dlc. The possibilities are literally endless with this game, I know people that like this game will get those dlcs they just got to make them. Plus hopefully they update the human model a bit, from what I’ve seen it’s just a bit clunky.
I like the clouded leopard pattern on the Smilodon, as that's the closest relative (though spotted has cave art reference), but would have preferred to see lips protecting the teeth as we seem to have cave art reference for that. I don't think the hell pig will be a food source, it probably was an apex predator. I wonder if the security recommendation of the woolly rhino is final, they are not that much lighter than white rhinos, which do require a bit of a sturdy fence. As for hopes and wishes? I'd like some Phorusrhacidae (terror birds) and/or mesozoic mammals. Just to give a bit more continuity with an avian dinosaur and ancestor of later mammals.
Paraceratherium is the biggest land mammal that ever lived ! A big ass rhino ! Also rhinos and horses are closely related so it's fun that paraceratherium reminds you of a huge horse. Would have been an impressive sight to see, but unfortunately they died off long before humans arrived.
I really liked this vid, I’m looking forward to seeing the paracertherium and mammoth. It’s like the extinct giraffe and elephant duo. I wouldn’t mind seeing your top 10 dinosaur list in a future vid
I can't really rank the mammals; I feel they're all mostly solid. That's not to say I hold them all at the same level. I'll admit that the cave bear is probably not the most exciting or obvious of prehistoric beasts to add, but I still consider a good inclusion compared to some of the dinosaurs picked. I'm not entirely sold on the current Daeodon designs, but the current model is an older one that will certainly be replaced. Some of the others have select skins that I find dull or not to my tastes.
I wonder if when our creatures are growing Will they jump from each stage, or gradually grow over time? Ooo will the adults try to protect their children instead of running away?(when fighting and hunting are added to the game) I really can’t wait for this game!
@@nightnight9164 hahahaha same. And the protecting sounds also nice. The game isn't just going for "legacy" and inaccurate dino's. Hope they will bring out DLC's. Consistent is hard to ask since it is a lit of work but still.
@@NatteNek DLCs would be awesome.....will be awesome but I wonder how to aquatic creatures and pterosaurs will work. I hope the aquatic are like the old zoo tycoon games where you can make a tank and plop them in together or separate if needed.
You forgot to mention that one of Bos Latifrons skins will become another species of extinct Bison, Bos Priscus or more commonly known as the Steppe Bison
If they were going to include 10 mammals in a prehistoric park builder my choices would've been; Woolly Mammoth, Woolly Rhinceros, Saber-Tooth Cat, Doedicurus, Megatherium, Quagga, Entelodon, Megaloceros, Thylacine, and Short-Faced Bear In addition I would have added a Dodo and Terror Bird to the roster along with Passenger Pigeon as a mini-exhibit animal.
Deaodon was far from a simple food source for carnivores. It was a powerful and terrifying predator, with a bone crushing bite. It was omnivorous, and was even the biggest of its group, the Entelodonts, also known as "Hell Pigs" or "Terminator Pigs"
These are cenozoic animals i want to see in the game one day. this includes mammals, birds, aquatics, and reptiles too: Doedicurus Pakicetus Arsinoitherium Chalicotherium Thylacoleo and/or thylacosmilus Deinotherium Palaeoloxodon Basilosaurus Odobenocetops Nothrotheriops Purussaurus Megalania Titanoboa Kelenken Gastornis Dodo Thylacine Quagga Stellar sea cow Haast eagle Argentavis Pelagornis Megalodon Uintatherium Elasmotherium Paleozoic: Dimetrodon Edaphosaurus Inostrancevia Scutosaurus Meganeura (exhibit animal) Arthropleura Pulmonoscorpius (exhibit animal) Anomalocaris Megalograptus Jaekalopterus Hibbertopterus Cameroceras Dunkleosteus Hynerpeton Crassigyrinus Diplocaulus Platyhystrix (exhibit animal) Marine reptiles, (since Mosasaurus, Elasmosaurus, and Ichthyosaurus are already confirmed im going to ignore them): Kronosaurus Liopleurodon Shonisaurus Dakosaurus Nothosaurus Atopodentatus Cymbospondylus Kaiwhekea I'll also include a few mesozoic fish here while im at it: Leedsichthys, Hybodus. Flying reptiles, (Not including Pteranodon because its confirmed): Quetzalcoatlus Tropeognathus Pterodaustro Dimorphodon Nyctosaurus Hatzegopteryx Thalassodromeus Dsungaripterus Tapejara Arthurdactylus Caulkicephalus And a few mesozoic birds: Hesperornis, Ichthyornis, Epidexipteryx (exhibit animal), Yi (exhibit animal).
Daeodon is a pig, not dog-like. And it was *not* a thing to be messed with. It was an apex predator, and it was the top of its food chain. Something that definitely should *not* be messed with. Also, Paraceratherium is related to rhinos. So it is more of a big rhino than it is a big horse.
I believe Swerve got it because I wasn’t specifically talking about these mammals from the Cenozoic era. I was talking about just the dinosaurs specifically haha
I always thought the prehistoric cave bear would have looked less fluffy and “modern”. So very similar but still a bit different to modern bears. Seems I was wrong
these are my fav :P 1:Ground sloth 2:Sabertooth 3:Wooly Mammoth 4:Thylacine(Tasmanian tiger) 5:Glyptodon 6:Wooly rhino 7:Bo's 8:Short face bear 9:Toxodon 10:Procoptodon these are my fav prehistoric mammals 1-10
The Woolly Mammoth in Prehistoric Park is actually called Martha not Matilda, the Mammoth in Primeval was actually a Columbian Mammoth, and Cave Bears are herbivorous rather than carnivorous
Total personal opinion (a few months later lol): I think the animals which are amazingly on point are the mammoth, the smilodon, the megaloceros, the megatherium, the paraceratherium, the bos, the coelodonta. Which leaves the ursus, the hyenadon and especially the daeodon which I think all need to be more or less improved. I would give the daeodon a more savage, cunning look with less hair, more prominent teeth and eye part. The hyenadon should have even shorter hair a tad longer tail but especially a longer head/mouth part imo the rest looks really good. The ursus or cave bear as it seems... well I thought he would look less “average” and ask more cunning with less fluffy hair a tad longer head and a tad more prominent hunchback. Okay maybe about that ursus I am too biased and always just imagined him differently but the other too are in need of a bit improvement despite the amazing job.
Considering the size and climate it lived in, it's now thought that megatherium was mostly hairless like elephants, rhinos and hippos. It would be interesting if the devs altered their model to reflect that. Also, as far as I know, there isn't any evidence of pack behaviour within Hyaenodons. True, social behaviour is very difficult to guess for animals with no living relatives (such as the Hyaenodons) certain clues can be found on the bones or in fossil sites that can give indications to whether a certain animal lived in groups.
I’m VERY happy that they put prehistoric mammals in this game. It’s good that it isn’t just dinosaurs. You can’t truly have a “prehistoric kingdom” without prehistoric mammals. I’m excited to use them in my prehistoric zoo
@Patrick Nicholson Columbian mammoth? That's the only one I can think of on the top of my head. I just did very minor research and according to what I found the biggest land mammal wasn't the Columbian mammoth or Paraceratherium but a genus called Palaeoloxodon. Not 100% sure but if you are willing to shed more light on the "big elephant thingo" please come back to me with a name and source.
7:01 so you are try to tell me that a pig like animal that is around a half a tonne or a tonne and 6 feet tall is similar to a 66 pound and 2 foot tall marsupial with stripes still great video man keep it up
My top 12 is 12. Cave lion 11. Dire wolf (Fun fact the genus for the dire wolf has been changed back to Aenocyon dirus) 10. Kelenken 9. Argentavis 8. Basilosaurus 7. Megatherium 6. Thylacosmilus 5. Camelops 4. Arctodus 3. Hagerman horse 2. Miracinonyx 1. Homotherium serum I know it was supposed to be 10 but there are so many prehistoric mammals i like
I’m quite late to this video, but I’d really love to see more mammals, more variation in mammals and small mammals like the thylacine aswell as giant ones like Palaeoloxdon Namadicus
It's been a long time since the alpha, and a lot of animals have been brought into and out of development. You going to do new videos on Prehistoric Kingdom?
Tbh I wanna see some mammals like Dire Wolf, Thylacine, Volaticotherium, Equus, and Titanoboa to say the least I think they would be awesome Terror Bird, and Doodos to just the Hype for this !!!
I hope they make Uintatherium, Megacerops, Deinotherium, Macrauchenia, Arsinoitherium, Amebelodon, Doedicurus, Andrewsarchus, Chalicotherium, Entelodontidae, Megatherium, and Eohippus angustidens. Among the birds I hope they do Phorusrhacos, Hesperornis, and Moa.
@@SwrveYT i was going to say that as well but i thhought it was wrong and i didnt want to embarras myself. But a i love that they have the daeodon in the game. im going to recreate the scenes in the movies from bbc
I hope deodon will have an attack animation, but why do all animals only eat one thing like why is deodon not en omnivore like eating fruit to, or Gallis that don’t eat insects, but why are there some small toothed carnivores that only eat insects (coelophyses, guanglong). It’s not really the biggest problem I have with the game, but I wish there ad in, in some animals some different diets. Makes it more realistic.
The Megaloceros *IS* the Irish Elk, not looks like. Most people don't respect it because it's just a "big deer", but it's my favourite out of all the things in this game, with Psittacosaurus in near second.
I also want the beardog or amphicyon to be added because of its strange or mixed body structure. And i think its uniqueness will stand out from all of the other mammal carnivores.
I'm really hoping we someday get prehistoric marsupials like procoptodon, thylacoleo or diprotodon, but obviously that would require an entirely new child rearing system so it would be a fairly big undertaking.
The Parisethereum is actually an ancient species of rhino and the reason why it was so big was it lived in the deserts in Mongolia I think that's why I remember from The Walking with Beasts documentary from the BBC
Smilodon is not a tiger. Everyone gets that fact about saber toothed cats wrong. Yes proper term is Saber-Toothed Cat, instead of the commonly misnamed Saber-toothed Tiger. True saber cats were part of the extinct subfamily Machairodontinae. Which contained no members who were closely related to tigers, or any modern cat species.
12:09 "I would love to see the Bos fatifrons running around, then we see 3 saber toothed tigers hunt this one bison." Don't lie you literally called it a tiger.
Is the ursa accurate I remember a documentary saying it was very lanky (for a bare) and used its size to intimidate predators to steal there kills and was hyper carnover
I kind want some of the I can’t remember the real name but they’re sometimes called beardogs and they lived with the hyenadons and when the hyenadons wipe the extinct the beardogs ruled over America but the like I think Russian bear dogs came to America they killed the native beardogs and then they turned into bears dogs and cats and the rest of the beardogs then went extinct because of how the dogs dears and cats were better then them at what they did
Prehistoric kingdom will add other extinct animals such as the dodo bird, quagga, tasmanian tiger, aurochs, great auk, and the haast's eagle in the future.
Megaloceros and irish elk ar the same thing. Also daeodon is a giant hippo relative that was the top predator of its ecosystem, so very much not an easy good source
