Rebecca is probably my favourite classic because it is a pitch perfect example of having anxiety and how that affects your thinking, but also, it has an eerie vibe and the writing just works for me.
I absolutely loved Six Crimson Cranes, the fact that she wasn't allowed to talk was discriped so vividly, I felt like I was doing something wrong if I answered somebody's question while reading this book.
Books I Loved: The Language of Thorns, Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow, The Cruel Prince, Rebecca, Little Women, Pride and Prejudice, Murder Most Unladylike, Moxie, Know My Name
So many beginnings was really enjoyable and a really interesting re-imagining of little women- i think you'd like it because it doesn't just replicate the plot of the original 1:1 it takes into account how these characters would react and develop based on circumstances in their new context/setting
My favourites would have to be: Know my Name, Nettle & Bone, Nevermoor ☂ And the ones I wish I have DNFed: The Bight and the Pale, Only a Monster and Shine.
Books I loved: The only one left, Cloud cuckoo land, Rebecca, Little women, Pride and prejudice, The new Jim Crow, Somebody’s daughter & How to sell a haunted house
Loved: Firekeepers Daughter, the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Love Theoretically There were none that I didn’t like but we have a lot of books in common on our TBRs
loved: mrs death misses death (recommend audiobook!), royal assassin, obelisk gate/stone sky, rebecca, in the dream house, plain bad heroines top of tbr: thistlefoot, the will of the many, elatsoe, the firekeepers daughter, in defence of witches
In The Dream House is not only really good but it is also very interesting stylewise. It has few sections where it strays from tradicional narration style and those moments not only grab your attention repetedly but i also found them to be especially gutpunching. I would certanly reccoment it! Also My Dark Vanessa is a huge yes for me. It's quite dark and deals with heavy topics but it is extremaly worth it.
throwback by maurene goo is one of my favorite books of this year it was so good- come for the time travel hijinks, stay for the inter-generational trauma and complex parent-child/family dynamics
I knew UK covers were cooler than USA covers, but I didn’t KNOW how much cooler how many of the covers were until just now. I want to trade so many of my books now.
I love "Pride & Prejudice" and "Know My Name" and "Rebecca" was good as well. I have only read Save the Cat for screenwriting, not novel writing and I would say it isn't worth reading, but perhaps the novel writing one is better.
My dark Vanessa is one of my favs, and you will not like what i suggest but Rebecca and Alias Grace, i did not found books that i disliked because your TBR is totally different then mine, i did not read almost every book on this and i have also no intention. We have totally different reading taste, but i am here because i love your peronality and videos, i'm here for the vibes🥰
1. I know you're not a romantasy girlie but I am. I liked the acotar series (2nd book the most), the cruel prince series (also 2nd one the most) and One Dark Window. 2. Rebecca is one of my favorite classics. And I haven't read the book but I really liked the Alias Grace series.
Don't even bother reading Darling Girl unless you want to never look at Peter Pan the same. It was very tell don't show and I wish I could forget how awful it was but it's too scared into my brain lol check the trigger warnings.
