Exactly. Also whether its 1 pitcher or the team empties their entire bullpen, the defense still has to make plays too do they not? Im relatively new to baseball but I cant imagine there was ever a no hitter where the losing team didnt hit any fair balls. So even if its 1 pitcher he didnt do it by himself. If his outfielder doesnt catch that flyball, no hit bid is over. If his first basemen doesnt get the runner out who hit a fair ball, no hit bid is over.

There have been a ton of pitchers who went thru 6 with a no hitter and blew it. Nolan Ryan made it thru 7 innings 24 times.
