"Guardians never retreat" ah, the days when the shout Advance was called Retreat. I can still hear my guardian scream retreat. It's burned into my mind.
I absolutely needed this!!! The wiki is great but trying to put this information together is difficult for a GW2 noob like myself. GW2 is nuanced and deep in many ways and can be overwhelming. Your guide helped me to see some of the underlying structure behind the flashy graphics. Thank you!
This is probably one of the best overviews I've seen Even though I already started my first character ages ago, I still always enjoy watching these for some reason lol I feel like there's a chance I might've picked a different first profession if I had seen this earlier, but oh well, I ended up making that one anyway xD
@@CaffeinatedDad originally I picked Ranger for Druid, but after watching this, I’m nearly certain I would’ve picked Elementalist lol Also, you’re welcome!
Strange, I've seen many beginner Warriors disappointed with greatsword. Those with a brain quickly realize the sword+axe/hammer gives them everything they will ever need, so I keep recommending these.
Thx for this summary! Now, I am waiting for elite specs spotlights 💪 I started playing GWsome time ago... ele was my first char but never leveled it to max, so many buttons... was very fun, but not for my fingers I guess :( Now I am thinking of returning to the game and start again. Don't know what to choose: ranger or mesmer or even another chance for ele. Those classes seems mot fun for me :>
Nice guide. However I strongly disagree with recommending the longbow over the shortbow on ranger. Longbow is very slow in comparison and lacks the mobility of the shortbow's quickshot as well crippling shot and daze. You just can't beat a skirmishing shortbow ranger with a condition build imo.
For Necromancers, you are also quite strong in WvW especially with a staff. Mass spamming of wells/aoe's occurs often and if enemies group up outside your castle or are charging into your group setting large amounts of aoe on the ground via the staff and other abilities (Well of Corruption, Darkness, Suffering) can have a huge impact on the massed enemy.
My Necromancer is too slow. I need to redo the build but not sure what to do...my first character and I am stuck in the story because he just don't moooove! 😢
The best part about turrets is when you detonate them in condition fields they create secondary affects like splashing extra healing potion on friendlies or blinding enemies or creating a fire shield from burning ground.
i am a player who had been returning but hardly played gw2 when i first encountered. now i am wondering on elite specialization. if you acquire ALL expansion, does it mean you will be able to be all of the elite specialization?
Yes! Each profession (class) has three elite specializations each tied to an expansion. If you have all three, you can play up to 36 different classes!
So the core warrior would be closest with a greatsword axe shield combination. It is a power oriented build that focuses on strike damage to decimate enemies. I released a video yesterday that has the build in the description!
Elementalist : swap elements to fit the need of any given moment We wish! Because they need to constantly change element to be effective at all. Their abilities are nerfed in damage or cooldown to force element change, Jack of all trades, master or none.
@@CaffeinatedDad And it wouldn't be too hard to resolve for ANet I think. Except for Weaver, have a sort of passive effect that apply to your current attunement weapon skills or give passive attributes when the attunement are off cooldown that give some bonuses. When Fire is off cooldown you get +100 Power, +100 Condition Damage. When Water is off cooldown you get +100 Healing Power, +100 Vitality, when Air is off cooldown you get +100 Precision, +100 Ferocity, when Earth is off cooldown you get +100 Toughness, +100 Expertise, and if all are off cooldown, you current attunement weapon skills get -20% cooldown. That's what I assume Tempest would have been before they release HoT.
Im kinda new to guild wars, played wow from a long time and mage was my main character. Playing guild wars I discovered what a real mage feels like, I love it.
Lol ugh so many options and info at first I thought mage cause I love the caster and range but the ranger looks solid also and even the thief with bow 😩
Please sir make necromancer your first class. Pet Master is really good. Necromancer are good for everything. Don't make elementalis. Make necromancer pet Master. Don't make elementalis. This not good advice for New players. If you are new make necromancer.
Yes if you new players and want easy relaxing gaming play Necromancer pet Master. I have 9yrs playing this game. Necromancer pet Master is the easiest way to go. But fell free to trying Anything you want. This just advice. Please play any classes you want.
