Im part of a homeschool group on fb for newbies and im constantly linking this video. People NEED to deschool after pulling kids out of public school instead of diving head first into homeschooling.

Yes! too many don't deschool and get frustrated, when they skipped the first step of the process.

Do I need to deschooling my kindergarten kid who goes to Montessori school?

yes you do...even though montessori is not a regular school there are still things that are school-based because of the issue of having so many kids in a class. But you might not need to deschool for as long.

I definitely deschooled wrong and it's having a ripple affect. Do you think at any point of homeschooling that's it possible to regroup and recover from a chaotic start?

You can totally take a break and regroup if you feel you need to deschool. Especially if you're finding that there's a lot of pushback from the kids, your days are very long or you're feeling like you aren't doing well enough or are getting burnt out. Take a little break and give yourself a chance to deschool.
