Great video Dr Sahab but personally I will go with straight back Gsds any given day. I have had them all my life. A guard dog should have good size, robust physical fitness and temperament should be towards aggressive side and I have found all these qualities in straight back Gsds. But then again, To each his own. Nonetheless, huge respect for your passion and love for dogs and animals in general.

Standards should be as it suits the better health of the dog...but these days it's all about looks. This is one legendary breed...seeing this angulation trend, I believe the days are not far when GSD will be the weakest with tons of complications.

Working line GSD,s are without angulation,more healthy and sturdy also for guarding purpose. Showline are with angulation with less energy levels. If you have the energy levels to excercise your dog for atleast 45 minutes in the morning and evenings go for a working line as they are excellent guard dogs.However there are very few genuine breeders of working line Gsd in India. Badhshah kennel is one of them
@Scar Kun Wrong. They're far cheaper than show quality GSD puppies. You can get good quality working line GSD puppies for 20k to 35k. Good quality show GSDs can start from 40k and can even go up to 100k.

Very true. Because of this craze for angulation, many GSDs suffer from hip dysplasia. Hip dysplasia is an abnormal formation of the hip socket that can eventually cause lameness and arthritis of the joints. For pets, it's best to buy a working line GSD. Show quality GSDs are not meant for guard duties.
