I am in the military and I was stationed at TACOM (Warren) from 2015-18, we were so worried about moving to the Detroit metro area. After doing some research we bought a home in RO and we had such any amazing time. We love RO and are planning to move back there after I retire, (soon!). Such a cool place to live! Royal oak brewery is the best!!!

Shirley here. J used to shop there in the 90's the last times I went through there the people walking on the streets looked homeless the way the where dressed and I don't mean just a few. They closed down places that couldn't make it. Our niece worked at a well known restaurant and bar there and the night crowed was nasty noisy and rude most of them left drunk. No wonder you would hear about them getting hit by that train. I guess I don't want to live in a house right I n top of my neighbors. I love having a big kitchen with the island not to many of those houses have the room. There's a donut shop on main Street that needs to be cleaned and going down the streets near there I know was old homes but the streets looked low income looking.

Usually the older the property you're receiving quality.

Older homes have amazing features-I love architecture and there’s nothing like a home that has been well cared for!

I grew up on Bonnie view dr. Royal Oak is NOT what it once was! I for one am looking forward to the absurd real estate prices collapsing and they will! The taxes in Oakland County are insane for waht You get and the large Families no longer are there the Town has been gentrified and NOT in a good way!

High crime downtown RO. Open drinking doesn't help. I grew up in RO. I can't believe how bad it is now

@@livinginoaklandcountymi since the economy had its market crash most new home buyers way south of RO and neighboring cities were flooded with low priced ppl who changed the areas. RO not as much as others but they had their hit. Main Street and Rochester past the cemetery heading downtown loss areas of a dealership, neighborhood grocery store and a few others replaced with high rise. Some of the old local hangout bars didn’t make Covid. Caribou coffee and a few shops gone. It was much better and relaxed. I also miss downtown Birmingham and the theater that was turned to a movie theater. A few good restaurants gone also like PeaBodys I miss the old times

@@jimcole2648 Covid did lots of damage to local businesses and it has been challenging for others. I hope you are able to find some new fun things and places-summer has merry activities but RO has their new ice skating park and really works to bring options the community can enjoy. If you love coffee check out atomic coffee-you won’t be disappointed (I’m a coffee fanatic lol). I have a few community based videos focused on RO and Bham with some fun things I found. Thanks so much for watching - I plan to get into Shorts and will jace new content very soon!

Royal isn't what it's cracked up to be. I know quite a few people that moved out. Down town area homeless people walking around most house are to close and nit work the price of the homes. There trying to keep low income people out that's why the taxes and homes are high.

Downtown areas are known for close proximity-there are some streets in RO where you have a bigger lot but it definitely isn’t an area people come to for large property.
