Gary Numan is an amazing musician, it's shame a lot of people look down on him to be honest, he's still going though and his sound has changed, he's also getting the respect he deserves, if you ever get the chance go see one one of his live shows, he's gigging in September, all his old stuff, defo worth a trip :)

I love Bauhaus, The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, early Christian Death, the Sisters of Mercy, etc. too! I saw The Cure on June 23 in Charlotte, North Carolina as my first concert and it was a surreal experience. I will admit as far as the New Romantic genre goes, I'm not as well versed on it as I'd like to be, but you've mentioned a few artists that I haven't heard of before through out that I will definitely check out. I'm surprised you like Lana Del Rey, although I also love her music. My heart sank when you said you didn't like Britpop though, haha. I've been looking forward to this video. Thanks for uploading!

Great that you've researched and found your own favorite music. So many people just go along with what they hear in the radio. I'm a fan of Porcupine tree but it's mostly the prog rock kind of style. So that might not be your thing. I'm also a fan of a lot of the eighties music Depeche mode :-).

You should totally check out Oppenheimer Analysis, DAF, Fad Gadget, Liaisons Dangereuses, Palais Schaumburg, Grauzone, Suicide, Cabaret Voltaire, Dark Day, and the 'No New York' compilation if you ever have the time. You might like them!

Hi :)) Great video, as always, and loved so many of the bands you mentioned. Great shout out for Sparks, brilliant band. You said you don't like New Order but I was wondering if you had checked out their very first album Movement? If you haven't you should check that out its very close to Joy Division. Also wondering if you've checked out Rose from Strawberry Switchblade's album Cuts Like A Cake Knife? It's a gorgeous album and I'm sure you'll love it. Anyway, that's enough of me rambling on. Our music taste is nearly identical I swear (mind you, I like all music that isn't prog rock or classic rock tbh, though I am partial to some Pink Floyd every not and then)! Right off the bat, when you said T.Rex I practically squealed (I used to be so in love with Marc Bolan before I got into more goth-y type music and I've still not really recovered!)My favourite bands would have to be Bauhaus, S&TB, Specimen, Japan and The Misson because I'm a bit of a stereotype (just a bit..) Just out of interest, do you like any proto-punk stuff, like The Stooges, or The New York Dolls (I suppose they're kind of glam rock, too.)? Also, (this is a super long comment, I'm sorry!) When did you see Pete Murphy? I'm super ecstatic to see him supporting The Mission in October!

don't know if i ever told you your my favorite goth you tuber actually your the only one i like because you have class . i love your tastes in music I'm glad hot included depeche mode , the cure dodv you like Europe and A ha ?i thought they were good also and of course Duran Duran my favorites . and i agree with you about the 90s bedside the huge Duran Duran come back marlin Manson was the only amazing thing then, i met him at Amoeba in Los Angeles he was externally polite and very nice and he bought a bunch of albums including abba and Duran Duran i told him i loved Nick Rhodes he had told me that he met him and he bow down to him , imagine me talking to marlin Manson about Nick Rhodes!!! he scores a massive amounts of points from me , my friend standing next to me was laughing the whole time . 💚💚💚💚💚

One of your earlier videos introduced me to Strawberry Switchblade. Thanks! We've got similar taste in music except I enjoy britpop (you might give Suede a try since they are more influenced by Bowie glam rock) . Some bands you might enjoy that I love are Curve, The Raveonettes, Ladytron, and Black Box Recorder.

Have you ever listened to Manic Street Preachers? They started out in the 90s but they are still making music today. They are my top favorite band of all time and I highly recommend them. My favorite album of theirs is The Holy Bible ❤️

Heres an interesting fact. When they got signed Culture Club were forced to change their band name as the label did not like it, the name... Sex Gang Children Which Andi Sex Gang persuaded Boy George to let him use.

Have you heard of Switchblade Symphony? If you haven't check out their album Serpentine Gallery. Also, have you listened to Concrete Blonde. If not check out Bloodletting. These were two great gothic bands from the 90's that you should definitely check out.

You should absolutely listen to The Holy Bible by the manic street preachers. It is very post-punk and extremely intelligent lyrically. Totally different to all their other music and I think you would love it! It's not Brit-pop kinda stuff like their more well known music xxx

First time round Specimen only had a mini album released. They had a deal with London Records and although they had loads of promotion (believe it or not they had loads of coverage in Smash Hits) never took off so were dropped after said mini album. They then reformed in America with a new line-up which fizzled out. They sounded great on record, but first time round they were regarded as a bit crap live, hence why they ended up running the Batcave as nobody else would give them a gig!

Not all Britpop sounds the same. For example, Suede actually have a Bowie-ish sound to them, and they are extremely underrated. I'm someone who likes Britpop, but Suede are easily miles better than Oasis and Blur. The albums Suede, Dog Man Star and Coming Up are the best :)
