I'm so happy that I've come across this video because I just got accepted for PR and communications, this really inspired and informed me more about the major ❤️❤️❤️
@@lovingpeepsxoxo985 Hey girlie! Congrats- It's awesome that got accepted into your dream school! Idk how old you are but with age and being a college student myself who's very much interested in fine arts (film and dance) I really think you should consider majoring in something that will generate income and will get you a good-high paying job right after you graduate. You can minor in your passion of Film or A.A studies. I'm only saying this because college CAN be a scam sis and there's propaganda to "follow your passion" but that's BS. this is what your advisors don't tell you. do yourself a favor and take my advice. Also, if you or anyone who's reading this wants to chat just @ me in your reply~
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does any of you know of a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my login password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
I just found out about this major and they make pretty good money, so it’s a major I’ll def be looking into! I’m 20 years old and still haven’t picked a major lol 😬

Hello, my name is Sanya Providence. I came across your channel while looking for someone in PR. I would love to interview you about the common writing practices in this field for my college English class. I will send you a consent form before we get started. I hope to hear a response. Thank you!
I attend The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I'm getting a BA in communications can I still go into PR with a communications degree or will I have to get a MA in PR to be able to have a career in PR.
I cannot say because I don’t know your schedule. Most summer internships are 9 to 5 Monday through Friday. Internships through the semester could be 2 to 3 days a week.
So thankful for this video because I’m transitioning to public relations from broadcast. Thank you for this video it’s been so informative and my worries are slowly going away.🧡
Ooh great vid! I'm double majoring in International Studies and History but I did an internship at a PR firm last year and I'm considering going down the PR/Marketing career path, so this was super helpful! Thanks Joi!
Public relations is the strategic communication process that builds mutually beneficial relationships between organizations and their publics. It is a great career choice with many opportunities in different industries. Congratulations on your public relations degree from USC! I look forward to seeing what you accomplish in your future career.
Wow I’m still in highschool and I take a journalism class where I write for my school news paper and I still don’t have the clearest idea of what I want to do and this helped me find that thank you 💗!!
Thank you for this video! This was very informative and helped me decide on my major and concentration. I will be switching to a Communications major and be concentrating in Public Relations! Thanks again xo
This is what im doing literally changed from Nursing to Health Information Management to Advertising and Public Relations 🤦🏾♀️🤣 ik I need to get it together but I want to do something that is not healthcare anymore. I am currently a Medical Assistant.
Thanks Joi! This video was very helpful. I'm currently a sophomore in high school and hope to land a job in PR one day. It's never early to start building my resume and develop certain skills that I can utilize in the future.
Wow! Very Succinct, great job 💪🏽💯! The information you just conveyed is life changing! Congrats on getting your degree by the way! I’m 33 I work as a Lean Coach in the mfg industry but I’m PR at heart. I’m going back to school to get a degree and you helped me out tremendously! Thanks 😊
Your video is awesome and informative! I am preparing for a transfer application to USC, and you just gave me a great number of reasons why I should choose USC PR Majors and pursue a PR career. Thank you so much!
I decided that I want to do public relations, but I had not found almost any video that spoke for sure about it, thank you for the video, it helped me to be more sure that is what I want, I hope to be in 2022 in a college studying relations public
Omg. I switched my major from journalism to PR during my sophomore year too . I really am interested in PR but tbh the starting salary kinda scares me 😩😩
Hey Joi! I'm a PR student in Barcelona (Spain) and I'm planning on going on an Erasmus next year. Do you know if it could be possible to do it at your university?? :)
hi Joi! I was wondering if you think getting a master's in PR is a great idea? Right now I got admissions for my masters in comm studies, and I was wondering if I have a degree like that will it boost me higher in PR, or should I just go for a master's in PR.
I mean there’s a lot to consider... Does the job you are applying to require a masters degree or are you gonna be working in a position you could have gotten without the masters? What was your major in undergrad? If it was in business, communications or a related field then what are you going to gain? If it was in a completely unrelated field then maybe consider. From my understanding comm studies is more theory based and abstract. In PR you do more actionable projects that can build your portfolio.
Joi Wade so I did get a job working as an advisor for this non profit. I’ll be writing articles, doing some graphic design and video, and handling social media. So I don’t really need a masters for that but I think I eventually want to branch out into PR. I’m also graduating in May with a BS in psychology. I was thinking doing PR internships while I’m in my comm studies program will help me have well rounded experience..
I mean if you want to continue school then do that--if you'd rather not do more school then just apply for jobs in PR and start working. There aren't really any industry requirements other than experience (which you are getting at your nonprofit).
Hiii, i basically want to dance or act but have a backup job to earn money and PR seems perfect. But for it ill have to choose Commerce because of which i won't be able to choose Fine arts... What do i do?
@@joiwade_ Honestly...one thing I'm really curious about when it comes to university life is cooking and just generally taking care of yourself when basically living on your own/away from home for the first time.
Every major company has a PR/Communications/Marketing department therefore any state is great :) Wherever you want to live you can work in PR. NY/LA is good for entertainment and fashion.
Joi Wade Hey, thanks for replying so quickly! Would you advise taking both advertising and pr courses? I go to USF Tampa and they have a major for Integrated Public Relations and Advertising. I don’t think advertising is something I want to pursue but I heard it could be helpful.
It still exists :) we are in a long distance relationship so we can only make content when we are together. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6OqJHxPr8dg.html
So crazy how people that recently graduated majoring in PR are saying it waste of money cuz they could've just learned it all online on their own...what the..!!?😒 i guess its for the fun experience💙
What are the things that one can do whilst studying PR.... Inorder to build a name for yourself Something that's not related to studying Something practical
I'm currently working full time but my current role has nothing to do with what Im studying But this has given me an idea.... I appreciate your help ❤️😊
@@joiwade_ would be cool to hear about your parental/family support through your collegiate journey. Some gems for us parents. My wife and I attended the same college my daughter attends now. We try to remember how it was for us but things change over 25 years. All we really know is to keep everything paid and extra change in her account lol. Blackboard is a big help. What would you do differently than your parents just don’t understand?
No, just your sharing is good, I did enjoy your boyfriend helping you out with your hair more than I thought I would, peace and blessings stay safe much respect
can i ask something maybe it is little bit out of topic, but maybe you know, why would a black pr go after a celebrity? and make a smear campaign against a celebrity? what do they really want?
Yup. You can be an athletes manager / publicist. Or you can work on the communications/public relations/marketing division for the team or whole league (nba, nfl, nhl, etc)
