Hey girl 😘😘 I dropped my Pandora bracelet on the street one day, I didn't have many charms and No safety chain I got home and I notice it wasn't on my arm I started crying I retraced my steps and still couldn't find it but on the way back home I took another side street that I must of took but didnt remember and I saw it just laying on the side walk, I was so happy. I went and got a safety chain the next day 😉 so yes it is very important if your clasp isn't as strong as it was.
This happened to me as well. It had fallen off at some point on my way to the store, I didn’t even notice because i was so used to it being on my wrist that I don’t even notice or feel it there. I was soo panicked and retraced my steps and I found it close to the pedestrian crossing and was soo happy. The clasp was always easy to unclip so when this happened I went to my local store and they switched it out for new one because the clasp shouldn’t have been so loose, but I also got a safety chain for it too.
@@MyPandoraCharmedLife hi I just got a leather moments slider braceler what clip would be good with silicon stopper to hold slider from falling down and to hold bracelet in place so doesn’t slide down wrist thanks
I think they also help with not losing the bracelet if it opens and people don’t feel it fall off (I think that’s why there is one for the essence). I didn’t use to like or use them but now I do ☺️ I love how they look!
Alejandra Estevez Did you learn it was best to have them on your charm bracelet the hard way? So sorry for you if you lost your much treasured charm bracelet ✨😞
Pandora bracelets hold your memories, they are aesthetically pleasing and you chose each charm for your own reasons. I am all for them and as a bonus reason they can complete your bracelet's look by adding one that fits its theme 😊 Safety chains come in different lengths, so if someone doesn't like the look of a little chain dangling could opt for the smaller size. ⛓ 👍
This is so helpful! My husband gifted me a braclet with a couple charms that mean so much for our wedding anniversary. We ended up going to an outdoor event and idk how but the clasp came undone and I ended up loosing them the same day I got them. I IMMEDIATELY went and bought a safety chain!
Great video Nicole! I never really understood the need for safety chains and clips until recently! Now I am trying REALLY hard to remember to spend my money on both of these important components. It would devastate me if I ever lost a bracelet or charm as so many of the charms I have are of sentimental value to me (not to mention the $$ investment). I for one love and appreciate these videos because one isn’t always lucky enough to get an educated salesperson in store! The trick for how the safety chain helps you put on the bracelet is worth it alone (for those of us whose hands are not as steady). Linda
Thank you so much Linda!! Yes - I didn’t prioritize this as much in the beginning. I too would be crushed if I lost one! Just crushed!!! I wish we had more options too! So true about sales associates not being knowledgeable. I’ve ran into a few good ones but more often they are just people there for a job and not “into” pandora. I’ve actually had a SA tell me her store watched my videos to learn more!! So funny!
Great video Nicole! I agree with all of your reasons, especially putting it on. They make it so much easier! The only thing that I don't like about them is how they sometimes twist off of the threading, because my bracelet is not completely full. But, they keep my charms safe, so I do love them!
Good higher end jewelry like diamond tennis bracelets and such should have a safety chain and I feel no different about Pandora needing one too. I'm so glad they make them because after putting so much love and $ into a design, it's smart to use the safely chain! I don't want it to fall off my wrist and realize it too late.
Very informative video. I love the dangly look of safety chains and I also love how easy they make putting the bracelet on. I don’t like the clip safety chains either but the new grains safety chain with the extra dangly bit is making me want to get it.
i just got my first safety chain last week because i got a bracelet that was smooth n i wasn’t used to it because my other 3 had the screws at the ends n this one the charms would just fall off so i went n got silicone grips in the mean time that works amazing i didn’t have any problems with them coming off anymore but i’m gonna get more safety chain because i like how they hang 🥰🥰
Thank you for this video! I have a rose smooth clip bracelet and the charms would fall off when I opened the bracelet to put on. I was unaware of the silicone lined safety chains thinking that they were all traditional screw on safety chains. I have now purchased a safety chain for this bracelet and the charms now stay put. 👍🏻
I love safety chains and have them on my moments bracelets...all of them! My biggest reason is so that I don’t lose the ENTIRE bracelet if the clasp failed and it falls off unbeknownst to me (as Alejandra said). I agree with all your other reasons too and use them for those reasons as well. I hadn’t thought about the weight benefit though! That dainty bow chain is massive! I just got the grain one and it’s my first clip style. I love the look but like you, don’t like that it takes up more room (because it doesn’t sit at the very end) and doesn’t cover the threads. I don’t have a chain for my essence yet and don’t use them on my bangles since they won’t fall off my wrist when opened (I do use silicone clips). Awesome video! 👏🏻👍🏻
Only another reason to go back to Pandora 😂 spend more as usual I love pandora took me 5 times to re assemble my bracelet until it felt just right with the charms ❤love theclook of less charms on the bracelet
For me they are a must have item so much invested in the charm bracelet to risk relying on the clasp alone ✨ I have a retired safety chain the clip type but from before the silicon ones came out it is strong and chunking and the chain feels like it could support a suspension bridge 😂
I took out the silicone stoppers that come with some safety chains and put them on the bracelet ends. That works for me because the charm cannot get get through the silicone stopper bc it cannot go anywhere . Great tips tfs
The thing is, if you put your safety chain at the opening end right on the threading, the chain will fall off, once you open the clasp. So to keep the bracelet safe you're actually supposed to put it behind the threading. Not sure yet, if I keep my safety chain, because of that...
Hi I have safety chains and clips on each bracelet you definitely need them bcoz I had all my charms fall off so I went and got safety chains and clips enjoy your videos
MyPandoraMoments1974 I’m also thinking of doing this. Get one clip safety chain and just change it between my bracelets as I usually just wear one moments full of charms stacked with bangles which doesn’t need that. 🎀
Awe! You are the sweetest!!!! Thank you, Nichol 😘. You are so thoughtful, supportive and considerate. ☺️💕💕 I absolutely loved hearing your thoughts and perspective! Such a great overview of the different types too. Very thorough and wonderful demonstrations! 👏 I never thought about the heavier safety chains and the weight helpful to keep the bracelet in place. Such a great tip!!!!! I'll have to think of that when I shop for my next safety chain. ⛓ Wish I could re-edit my video to mention your video too! ☺️💕💕
Of course!!! I love when our videos compliment each other 😊 The bummer with the heavy safety chains is they are getting lighter and lighter!! Dainty bows and the star ones are the only ones I have with substantial weight to them.
They really are getting lighter and lighter!!!! Same with some of the charms. But...you have me thinking that even putting heavier charms near the clasp...is a great idea!
I have the retired lazy daisy safety chain on my two tone bracelet and only because it's the only safety chain that I love from Pandora and it happens to be clips :) I don't like the ones that you have to spin around the bracelet but can see your point about how it covers up the thread. I'm tempted to get the daisy safety chain and when I get my gold bracelet that will absolutely have a safety chain on it. Otherwise, I tend to use clips. My bracelets are so darn heavy for the most part, I'd feel if it feel off (and have). I usually like a clean bracelet without much dangles for now so that's another reason I stay away from safety chains. :)
I have a safety chain that slides around, and I'm thinking of getting a clip based one instead. I always thought safety chains were for in case your bracelet falls off.
I like the clip on safety chains best. I think the lady at Pandora scared me by saying if you don’t screw on the screw on items correctly you will strip the threads on your bracelet. I just got my first Pandora a week ago. Can you do a video on the 5 station clip bracelet?
I was told I could just use clips. I have the pad lock bracelet, and I don't want a safety chain to mess up the look of my charm. Clips at the end basically do the same thing as safety chains, right?
I have a smooth bracelet and bought a thin ring safety chain and it just slides off! I tried placing a regular clip silicone ring but it won’t go in. Any suggestions? I just love it and would like to make it work. Thanks!
I don't own any safety chains because I don't like the idea of having to deal with them each time I put on my bracelets and also because I'm afraid I'd snag them on something. Instead, all of my bracelets have two sets of clips (because I like uniformity) which work perfectly and I don't mind looking at the threads on the bracelets. I am curious, however, about safety chains with silicone and safety chains with clips although I'm not sure what the difference is between the two. I will admit that the chains are really cute and make the bracelet look more like a traditional charm bracelet. In addition, I like what you said about them balancing the bracelet which is something I'd never considered before. I need to do some more investigating, though. You explained this very well! I know when I began collecting Pandora two years ago, I had no idea about any of this stuff and had to learn by trial and error. When I purchased my first bracelet, I was in Switzerland. The sales associate I dealt with gave me 20% off everything I purchased that day because she could tell I was a newbie. (I later learned this sort of discount NEVER happens in the States!) Interestingly, she never mentioned a safety chain or clips at all. Looking back, that was strange. I certainly would have purchased clips that day had she mentioned them and her store would have made more money from my sale, but oh, well. I kept adding to my bracelet when I returned home, however, it took months for me to invest in clips because I didn't know I needed anything to protect my first bracelet.
Very helpful video! But for me it's difficult to decide which safety chain will look perfect on my bracelet😉 Now I see how it helps to close the bracelet but you do that so quickly I think I would have to practice that😎 I don't know also which lenght I should choose for my 18cm bracelet?
So hard to choose! I wish they had more options. They have a lot but I want more 😊. I actually don’t know much about the different sizes. In the US we don’t have size options. If I’m measuring correctly mine is 5cm and my bracelets are size 18
Hi Nicole, so happy that you pointed out the fact that the clip on safety chains dont cover the threads, l was just about to buy the shine chain which is a clip on, guess ill just use my arcs of love chain, cheers ⚘⚘
I’m so glad that part was helpful!!! I think some of the clip safety chains are sooooo beautiful but I couldn’t get passed that fact and ended up selling mine in the beginning.
@@MyPandoraCharmedLife I didn't think you were. Btw I loved the trick you use using the safety chain to help you lock the bracelet! I'm going to use it the next time I put my bracelet on. ; )
Hi, thanks for your video! With the pandemic I am ordering Pandora products online. I see that the safety chains come in sizes but I don’t see a size chart for them- just size charts for the bracelets. How do you know what size to order? Thanks!
I feel like I'll have to buy a safety chain once I've finished my first bracelet, but I'm honestly so scared of getting the chain caught on things! I can already imagine it getting it stuck on a door knob or a bag hook. I think I might be too clumsy for a safety chain! But if ever I'll get one, I'll definitely get the Enchanted Hearts Safety Chain
Andrea Atienza I have been wearing my Pandora daily since I got it a week ago. I have never caught the safety chain on anything yet. But I am right handed and wear my bracelet on my left wrist.
I put clips at the ends of miines because i could never get my dang hands in them lol. But they are cute to have on i sold my pave chain and the bracelet to it.
I am too afraid to loose entire bracelet to do this. I really need safety chain. I lost swarovski necklace that was a bday gift & from xmas collection 2011 so i am always in the fear of losing a jewellary piece. I lost it at a festival, apparantly just dissapeared or someone took it of me in the crowd (it was a 50.000 people festival so quite possible.
I just received my safety chain (daisies) for my daisy bracelet. It doesn’t stay screwed on however. Is that normal? Is it because I only have 1 charm and 2 clips on it?
I have the same issue 😓. I think I am going to return it if it is possible. My bracelet is full of charms so I tested it at home today and when I took off bracelet, the safety chain came off too (twice) and dropped my charm. So ya this daisy one is a fail to me. Or if I did something wrong I’m not sure. However I’m not liking it now. 😭
I have the heart safety chain that screws and I found it does the same thing so I put a clip that has the silicone grip at the very end right before the thread. That keeps the safety chain on and the clip stays in place for the most part AND it does fit over the end so my charms don't fall off anymore
Great video! I had never thought about the weight aspect and helping to keep your bracelet in place! Great idea! Next time I'll get a heavier one. I think they're so pretty and love mine, but I kinda talked my local pandora employee into investing in one and she hates it! Lol Opps. I can't imagine not having one on my bracelets now. Too much money invested not to be safe!
This is such a great video I haven’t invested in a safety chain for either of my bracelets yet almost all of the pieces I own have been gifts from family but I got a shock.Yesterday morning I noticed something yellow laying by my pillow thinking it was paper I went to pick it up to throw it away only to realize it was my belle dress charm I looked down at my wrist to see my bangle had come open and belle had fallen right off 😮 belle was Christmas gift and I would have been heartbroken if I had lost her
I keep seeing you twisting the safety chain, and I'm here all confused!!... do they make bracelets with threaded ends, that I don't know about, or what? Lol
I had a safety chain on my bracelet but I get tired of it after three years, it weights down the bracelet, I prefer without, I find it gives a more ''clean'' style
I have a few I wear without safety chains. I like the look both ways. I find a full bracelet isn’t super necessary because it’s so heavy. There’s no way I wouldn’t notice if I lost it. Just gotta make sure it has a good secure charm on the end or clip.
I have the heart shaped safety chain that screws on. On one side the heart stays stationary but on the other side the heart slides everywhere all along my bracelet. I'm not sure if this is a defect or if this how it's supposed to be. I would love your advice.
I am a new subscriber to Emily's channel and I did get a chance to watch her video. One important thing I learned from Emily was the way you put the safety chain on meaning which end goes on first that was very helpful I didn't know that it made a difference, but listening to her explanation made sense. From my first ever Pandora bracelet maybe about 7/8yrs ago I have always used a safety chain and will always continue to use them. I always purchase my bracelet and safety chain together then start with charms, spacers, clips etc. My reasoning why is because my 1st bracelet which was a gift Rose gold and luckily I was wearing it at work and it came off 😢🤦♀️🤷♀️. It was returned to me I went to the store and told the SA what happened there wasn't anything wrong with the bracelet but she told me about safety chains. With another bracelet it happend again BUT this time it was literally still on my wrist because it couldn't go anywhere because of the safety chain. I'm a RN so you just never know the day I may or may not have, I don't try to be ruff of course but things do and can happen. So that being said I ALWAYS !!! purchase a safety chain the same time I purchase a new bracelet.😘😁🤗 I can't imagine the time, energy, thought, personal, feelings, and money that goes into my bracelets and have them lost forever 😪😪🤦♀️🤷♀️..Good topic to discuss 👏👏🌺🌺🌹🌹
Thanks for sharing your experience!! I would totally be devastated if I lost one. I’m glad they came out with thinner ones that I might reconsider for my work inspired bracelet.
@@MyPandoraCharmedLife yes, I could not imagine losing one charm let alone an entire bracelet. 😢🤦♀️. Thank you for doing these video's I really find them helpful, informative, and just gratifying I really appreciate your love for Pandora you do an excellent job 🤗👏👏💖💖💖🌹🌹🌹🌺🌺🌹
Thanks for the explanation! It was a very pleasant video to watch 😊 I do have one question though. My safety chain unscrews very often from one of the threads while I'm wearing my bracelet. Does that happen to you as well?
@@MyPandoraCharmedLife Thanks a lot for the reply! Maybe mine screws off all the way because my bracelet isn't full with charms... and as I see yours are pretty full 😊 have a wonderful day!
Hi 👋🏾. My rose gold bracelet I am using clips at the end but my other bracelets I have the pandora logo safety chain. I just love the fact that they clip on. I don’t have to move any of my charms. 😊😉
Hehe Hello Nichol!!! 😆😆😆 Sorry I haven't watched any of your videos in a while. I've been busy with work and my main app is Instagram. 😞😞 I'm so glad you made this video, and I loved Emily's video on safety chains as well. I would love to have a safety chain for each one of my bracelets.🤩 I have 7 bracelets, but only two of them have a safety chain. I'm hoping to get one for my very first bracelet which is a smooth bracelet first and it worries me sometimes in case it were to ever get loose.😰 I think it's necessary to have a safety chain if there's any possibility your bracelet can become loose.😊 Hehe I love your trick on putting the bracelet on with the safety chain. 😍😍💕 I will definitely be trying that trick from now on. 😆😆 I don't have it yet but the safety chain that would be my favorite would be the pandora logo signature safety chain in silver and the rose gold. Both are so beautiful and I love the CZs on it 😆😆 hehe Thank you so much for sharing your awesome video, and I hope you and Presley have a lovely day!!!! 😁😁💕💕
Hi Rebecca!! I understand about being busy! It’s a busy time at work for me too and I’ve been terrible at commenting in a timely fashion! Yes yes yes! A safety chain for the smooth bracelet. Protect that previous piece!
Ever have a charm get stuck on the threaded area? I’m so upset, my very first charm from 2007 just got stuck as I was taking it off, and I popped the whole bracelet. No biggie for the bracelet really, it was stretched beyond my comfort and replaced but I can’t get my most precious charm off the broken old bracelet 😔
Cindi Mams, not sure if you were able to get your charm off by now but that has happened to me. I tried to get my charm off for months and couldn’t really find any information on how to get it off. I ended up using WD-40 and it took some work but it finally came off the same night I tried it.
Just so you know I did watch this video but I'm still not sure what that silicone thing is about and if a safety chain is what exactly I'm looking for to make my bracelet fit my wrist better I'm enjoying all your videos I've been watching a few of them and I also subscribed
@@MyPandoraCharmedLife yes. I'm a 7...it's a 7.9.... hangs all the way down over the top part of my hand. Since it's the lock diamond I don't want to bang it on anything. I went to the website and type in silicone safety chain nothing came up I don't really understand this it's so intricate I'm sorry to bother you about it just wondering if there's a way to get the bracelet to fit better. Honestly I haven't even begun collecting charms for it it's just plainly hanging there well actually sitting in the Box still I couldn't imagine putting charms on it would only make it hang that much longer. I hope to hear from you about the matter again more thoroughly if you have a suggestion but I do greatly appreciate your response
I have a burning question. All shops in my area are very busy, so I rely on the catalog marked when I enter the store I’m ready. Also ordering online. How do I know if an item such as a clip has silicone? Do any spacers have silicone? Thanks 😘
Spacers do not have clips. As far as how you know you might read in the description. Also if you have clips that don’t have the silicone grip, as your store for the little black silicone inserts. They are free!
I have o problem with the safety chain i cant Take it Off to put more charms as when i try to rounded only going inside not outside as i shut what can i do please help
When I use a safety chain if it's one that threads on I will use as well a clip at the end of the bracelet on the side that you put the charms on but if it's a clip safety chain or silicone one I will not use a clip at the end of the bracelet
