I've been wanting a lionfish since I setup my tank 3 years ago but I have too many hermit crabs and shrimp and small fish to get a lionfish now. Thank you for this video Brock
Hi bro I love the video, just one tip: don’t put them with triggers or puffers , my trigger fish killed my first ever dwarf lionfish and my Valentini puffer started nipping at my full grown fuzzy .. , anyway love the content 😀
I have trio of them (1 male and 2 female), appreciate the explanation on why it's with caution on the reef since they are pretty reef safe but not small fish and invert safe haha, pretty misunderstood fish but one of the most easiest and low maintenance fish I have ever kept! 2 of mine eats pellets already, one sticks to frozen
Hey Brock! I have a questionnnnnn for youuuuuu... So with those vemonous spikes... do they have to merely touch you or does the fish literally have to attack you with them? Dont the bigger lionfish have like wiskers instead that sting? Thanks for all you do!
I had a dwarf lionfish in my tank way back in the day. It and the hermit crabs were the only survivors after a power outage in the middle of January. Handled the cold water just fine. Didnt have any problems with the fella getting along with the other fish in the tank. The hermit crabs however... Murdered and ate anything that chilled on the floor or rocks that was too slow to get away. Anyway, mine ate dead brine shrimp no problem.
I have a fu manchu, zebra dwarf and adding the fuzzy this week in my reef tank. Took me about 2 months to get them onto frozen, model citizens they don't touch my other fish. But that's because I keep them well fed.
Hey Brock! Love the videos! I recently got a tiny baby fuzzy lionfish and he’s eating frozen mysis shrimp. I see him swimming around the water column a lot like if he’s looking for something. How often do you recommend I feed him?
That’s awesome! I’d recommend feeding 3-4 times a week. Sometimes they can eat a portion every day. At the beginning id try to feed something each day to see how often it wants to eat. They will ignore you if they are full haha
Hey Brock.. quick question. So i have some Lyre tail anthias that are doing very well. I feed twice a day. I really like the look of bartletts. Would two feedings be enough for them as well? Thanks :)
I just got mine today! He’s just layin in the corner and I’m a little concerned. He’s currently in a 55g tank I tested my water and it reads perfect partially because of my water change. Can you help me figure out what’s going on?
Could just be that it is having a hard time acclimating to the new tank. Make sure no one is bullying him. Maybe try getting some live foods in there like ghost shrimp to entice him to eat.
@@BrockLeonard hey its working out great I got him on red rosies at the moment, but I'm so confused on how many times I should feed him I get so many different answers each time
It would be 50/50, I have a mandarin in my system and my lions dont care for it. My zebra is a pretty meaty boy, but I feed it often so it never needs to stalk my fish for food.
