Finally! Somebody who can actually explain what the contacts mean, how to connect, and if I even need an arduino! This is going to work very nicely as a hidden touch switch for a Star Trek-themed model base.
Not everybody have this board. Most of them have the touch pad included on the main circuit with a pull down resistor on pin 4 and 6 of the TTP223. “Close” means nothing except if you precise pull up resistor ( to the VCC) or a pull down resistor to the ground. Pin 4 and 6 should never be let open as on your board (it’s a CMOS circuit and open pin could create oscillations). I understood that by “close”, you mean with a pull up resistor to the VCC. Interesting video by the way except these approximations.

very good video but i have one question: Whats the detection range of this sensor? because i want to mount one under a 3-5mm thick wood board and I'm not sure whether it's going to detect a finger through this.
Great Video, I wanted to know can you programme a touch switch to move a stepmotor 90 *(degres) and then stop when you touch the switch the first Time and when you touch it again it goes back to 0 where it was (like a door first Time you touch it it close second time you close it it open. I have been trying to do that for weeks. I am working on a very small mass that go on and off your face with a double tap on a touch switch. So i need a very small close open circuit. I would be really grateful if you could help me with programming and circuits. I already have the mechanical part who Works Well.

The ttp223 has an auto calibration how to I bypass that? Can I with a code? I have it on momentary (1st mode) When I leave my finger on the touch light comes on but after 7seconds it goes off quickly and back on, even while my finger still touching the pad, how do I fix this? Please help all information is appreciated.
Brother how can i connect ttp223 to a 5v bluetooth speaker for power on/off, must reply if anyone can make this circuit, while connecting to bluetooth speaker, output voltage from ttp223 is dropped to 3volt, can anyone tell how to increase the output voltage to 5v, also tried to put speaker negative wire to i/o pin, it really worked but circuit gone reversed, when speaker was on, ttp223 indicator light was off and when speaker got off, ttp223 indicator light gone on continuously, reply will be greatly appreciated, i m trying this for last 2 years, but still didn't find any solution.
If you are placing anything on the touch pad of the switch then you need to restart the switch after placing any glass of acrylic, if still it is triggering without touching then use a capacitor to adjust the sensitivity
You show us what the different configurations do but you never show how the configurations are changed!!!! I would guess that most people know what a normally open and normally closed momentary switch is. It would be interesting however to know how you got exactly the same switch to do different things without doing anything to the switch!!!
